Perfect for couples or families of 4 looking for a tranquil retreat, this apartment is attached to a 2 storey home located in a private high-end neighborhood known as Halcyon Heights in Holetown, St. James.
It features a relaxed décor with an open plan design in the living room, dining room and kitchen area, plus two spacious bedrooms with air condition units, built-in closets and one bathroom. There is a patio looking out on to the surrounding gardens where fruit trees such as mango, lime and coconut and a variety of tropical plants abound. A comfortable parking area is available within the yard to allow easy entry and exit.
We are in close proximity to Limegrove Lifestyle Centre which offers excellent Restaurants, Bars, Multiplex Cinemas and popular brand name stores including Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, Mac Makeup and Longchamp to name a few. A 10-to-15-minute walk gives access to Barbados' prime west coast white sandy beaches and the diverse dining experiences which are also part of what Holetown offers visitors from all over the world. Major Supermarket - Massy Supercentre, medical facility - Sandy Crest and options of international banks such as Republic Bank, RBC Royal Bank and First Caribbean International bank are all within a short distance.
A trip to the capital city of Bridgetown is also

While we only spent 5 nights, we have to say it was the perfect place for us and highly recommend this apartment for anyone looking to stay for a much longer time. The hosts are kind and considerate people who were helpful and friendly in making sure we were comfortable. Thank you for your hospitality!

We loved our stay in Barbados! This apartment was the perfect location on the west side. Certainly could have walked to the beach, mall, grocery store, etc but ideally needed a car to see the island. REALLY LOVED seeing the troupe of monkeys passing by several times a day! Sonia and Ian were the perfect host, made us feel welcome and comfortable! We'll be back!

The lovely spacious apartment with patio in the garden was quiet and private yet it was good to know Sonia and Ian were just next door. The bed, shower and kitchen were all great, as was the AC.
I liked the location close to Holetown, but although I am a good walker I tried to avoid the walk down the winding hill in the busy traffic and would have a car next time. I appreciated the welcome and kindnesses. Thank you!

Suited us down to the ground, quiet, lovely shaded area for morning coffee, host very helpful; walk back didn’t bother us but lack of any pavement won’t suit some.

Very nice and clean apartment. Easy to communicate with Sonia when needed. She had a few items for us when we got there, god bless her! We kept in shape by walking back and forth to the beach.

This property is very clean and situated in a beautiful neighborhood. However, transportation is a must OR plan for a hired vehicle (Taxi, etc).
The hosts are very accommodating and wonderful a couple. Sonia (owner) made sure I had everything to my comfort and would check in periodically to ask if I needed anything. I felt at home and slept well.
I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend booking this property.

I would recommend booking a hire car as the road into Holetown has no pavement, there are a few blind corners and cars can travel quite fast. I enjoy walking and it’s only 10mins, but having stubbornly done it once I agreed with Sonia’s recommendation to drive the short distance instead!

Ian showed around the apartment and wished us a pleasant stay.
We turned in exhausted after our long flight and four hour time difference,. But the bed was so hard, we couldn’t sleep. We tried all angles,
The following day we told Sonia that it was so uncomfortable and she said no-one had ever complained. We asked for a mattress topper at least. We made up the other bed with both counterpanes under the bottom sheet, but it was just as hard. We spent two nights on this before there was a knock on the intervening door - Sonia bought in a smaller mattress and put it on top of the hard one.l. As the replacement mattress was rolling around on top of the original, we removed the original to the spare room. Only to find the it had been on the bed upside down. Further investigation found the mattress was dated 1990 and had a huge stain in the middle of the upper side. The mattress in the second bedroom was also upside down.
The sofa and chair cushions in the lounge were also very worn to the extent that we needed to double them up to prevent sitting on the wooden frames below.
The patio was fine, but had not the garden outlook we expected from the description, but was cramped into the corner of the plot, looking onto a breeze block wall and next doors tatty chain link fence. The drains from the main house were just by this patio, and let by odours quite frequently.
The original VRBO description of timing from Halcyon Heights to the beach was claimed to be 5-7 minutes walk (which has now been changed on the description from 10 - 15 minutes).
The actual mileage from the property to the beach is 1.1 kilometre and not 0.6 kilometre as described on the VRBO website.
This road has hardly any sidewalks and is extremely dangerous to walk in the daylight - so after dark absolutely a no no. Therefore we had to hire a car for the whole of the month’s period we were there.
When talking to Sonia about the main garden with its mango trees, she told us she had lived there for 20 years.
To sum up, the description of this property needs to be wholly reviewed. We spent a lot of money for a very disappointing inadequate property, and had to spend further on a car for the whole period. We are so out of pocket and think VRBO ought to check further on prop

Check in was quick and efficient.Apartment spacious well equipped and comfortable, all as advertised. Safe , quiet neighbourhood. Strong Wi-Fi . Sonia & Ian available by WhatsApp but not intrusive. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return

Apartment was just what we needed. Quiet, safe neighborhood with all the necessary amenities. Owners were great to work with - very hands off, but able to answer all questions when needed. Would stay here again.

Me and my mom stayed for 4 nights after a cruise. The apartment is located in a beautiful house with a garden in a nice, sae and quiet neighborhood. Spacious, with elegant decor, very clean and with all necessary amenities. Refrigerator, microwave, washing machine, ac are all new. The bathroom is also a good size with very good water pressure. It takes me about 7 minutes walk to the Limegrove Lifestyle Center, MS supermarket and another 5 minutes to the beach.
Sonia and Ian are very friendly, helpful and attentive. Ian met us at the port and took us to the airport on the last day. And Sonia was so kind that she even did some shopping for me.
I can only highly recommend this property if you are looking for something beautiful and affordable in Holetown.

Communication was great. The apartment was clean and bright. The neighborhood is lovely. If you do not have a car there is a fifteen minute walk to the main road, which was good exercise for us. The main road has all shopping you need. Thanks Sonia and Ian , we enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful time. Sonia and Ian were fabulous, friendly hosts and made us feel very welcome, while also being very respectful of our privacy. Communication was excellent, as was collection from the airport. The flat is in a great, safe location. The kitchen and laundry facilities are very well maintained and new. The air on was also super powerful. We felt very welcome and well looked after. Seriously, what more could you ask for?

We had a wonderful stay with Sonia & Ian, who were lovely hosts.
The apartment is super clean and has everything you need. It’s in a great location, close to Holetown & is very peaceful. We had to work a few days while we were there and the wifi was great.

A very clean and we'll kept property with all the home equipment to make your stay very comfortable. It was just a little to far up the hill from Hometown for me to walk so we needed to hire a car but I would defiantly go back and would certainly recommend it. Thank you Sonia and Ian. It's just a shame our holiday was cut short due the current crisis.

Everything You Need for a Great Stay in Holetown
Sonia & Ian are great hosts. The property is clean and well equipped with new appliances and furnishings. We did not have a car, but that might be a consideration for folks who don't want the 10 minute walk back and forth to town.
Once in Holetown, there are a great variety of beaches, restaurants, shops and a good grocery store, along with access to local buses going north and south. We hired Ian and his taxi for an island tour and travel to the airport right from the house, which was a great convenience.
Sonia was very helpful with suggestions and answers to our enquiries, and responds quickly.
We used the covered deck for all our meals and enjoyed the hummingbirds, finches and even the troop of monkeys that would pass through in the afternoon.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our first Barbados experience.
