Be advised that Waltons Mountain is adjacent to rugged national forest. Wild animals frequent the area, including bears, mountain lions, and bobcats. Do not leave food and trash outside. After putting trash in the dumpster, make sure you replace the bar lock and screw to hold to bar lock in place. Be on guard while hiking in the area. Stay in groups and do not let children run around without adult supervision.

There is a 22' tall rock fireplace in open high ceiling living room. There is NO central air. There are ceiling fans in every bedroom (except the bunk basement rooms), there are box fans in most closets and there are a few portable AC units in the house.
The large full kitchen is open to the dining room and the living room. The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, refrigerator, microwave, pots, pans, dishes, silverware and oven.
The basement has a ping pong table and a foosball table and washer/dryer.
If your party rents both the Lodge and Cottage, do not remove anything from the Lodge and take it to the Cottage. These are two separate properties, help us keep each well stocked for the next guests.
The Walton family has lived on this 100 acre property for three generations and have enjoyed the beautiful views and endless outdoor activities that life on the mountain provides. We are passionate about sharing the beauty of our property with others who wish to experience the beautiful Manitou foothills and look to provide quaint comfortable accommodations for any and all looking to explore the Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs area. We spend time sharing our mountain home with our growing families and making updates, both big and small to the property. We try to keep the property as updated as we can to provide a great experience for all our guests. Thank you for your feedback and continued support of our small family business.
Our property provides a unique experience to those looking to visit the area due to its location on nearly 100 acres of private property. This gives our guests plenty of privacy and security while also being located just minutes away from downtown Manitou Springs. Both our Lodge and Cottage provide a feeling of being secluded in the mountains of Manitou Springs allowing for our guests to spend their days down in the city, and when that becomes too much, they have the option to retreat back up the hill to the privacy and quiet of the foothills. In addition to the Lodge and Cottage, there are three other homes on the mountain. Please drive slowly and carefully through the narrow streets in the neighborhood up the mountain road.
Manitou Springs is just minutes away for world-famous sights such as the cog railway, Garden of the Gods, the Manitou Incline, and the Cave of The Winds. Easy access to shopping, restaurants, and arcade that make downtown Manitou Springs famous. Nearby is the Adventure Out West Ziplines: where all Waltons Mountain guests receive a discount.
We love our property because it sits on nearly 100 acres of private property. You may see zip liners behind the Lodge, other cars belonging to the three other houses on the mountain and some trucks that use the city water road that is on our land. You will see and enjoy wildlife on the mountain. Deer, foxes and bears! PLEASE BE BEAR AWARE and know what to do if you come across a bear while hiking on our property. Please lock up the dumpster as this helps us keep the bears away!
TV is Samsung TV with access for the basic channels that come with Samsung TV plus ability to access your own accounts through apps like Netflix, Disney+, YouTube TV, etc. Dish/Cable TV not provided.
There are times when the hot tub has an issue after someone's stay, we do our best to remedy the issue as quickly as possible but there are times we have to wait for a part to arrive and install it. Unfortunately, these problems arrive randomly and are out of our control. Refunds will not be issued if these very rare issues happen before or during your stay and affect your use of the hot tub.
Please check out our video in the video section, and photos.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! We look forward to hosting you!

We enjoyed our time at Walton’s mountain. The house was very well stocked with all you need in the kitchen. The hot tub was nice. We especially enjoyed watching the bears in the trash can…. Hat was a high lite!

The stay was great. The adult beds were comfortable. The kids beds in the basement weren’t quite as comfortable. Lots of fun things to do close by. We were 10min from garden of the gods and horse back riding. we were 5 min from ziplines and 1 hr from the top of pikes peak! there is also a train you can get tickets for and the caves 15 min away! the house needed a new grill and some new carpet but the hot tub was clean and great! So was the manager. They had plenty of plates and dishes for our large family of 15 and 2 dogs. We had a grey time.

My extended family and I just returned from staying at this awesome lodge! We had a large group with ages ranging from infants-60 years old. There was plenty of room, you could easily fit 20+ people comfortably in this cabin. It’s a beautiful location with lots of wildlife (including bears!). I was a little concerned that there was no central air, as we stayed in July, but it never got too hot with the portable ACs and fans.
It was very well stocked, we cooked most of our meals for 3 days there, and the kitchen had everything we needed. There were plenty of towels and it was even stocked with soap and shampoo. They even have reusable grocery bags in one of the cabinets, which came in handy, because Colorado stores don’t use plastic bags. Loved that there was a washer and dryer we could use, especially since we had a lot of little kids with us. We all loved the hot tub, it was very clean, and the views from the hot tub and back deck are awesome! There also is a nearby jeep trail that we all enjoyed going for walks on and saw some great Mountain Views. There are lots of things to do nearby; it’s really a great location, but we found that some of the locals did not like that we had to drive down their residential street to get to our cabin. The hosts were great, always responded to my messages immediately, checking in and out was super simple. I loved the place, would highly recommend and would definitely stay again!.

Very spacious!

The lodge was close to town, but still secluded. Easy to find, easy check in and big enough for my family of 21! Pretty clean but the carpets couple use a good cleaning. Overall, our stay was great. Very close to many attractions!

My wife & I chose the Waltons Mountain Lodge for multiple reasons and we are very glad we did. Family and friends stayed with us for our son’s wedding. The lodge was very spacious, well stocked with all that we needed, comfortable, and had beautiful views all around. The back deck was a great gathering place.
We had 11 adults and 2 young kids in our group and everyone enjoyed their stay there. Though it is old, the lodge has been well kept. Check-in and check-out was quite simple.
There is so much to do in the Manitou Springs area and the lodge is close to everything.
We recommend the lodge to anyone who needs a large space for a reasonable price.

We are a hiking group, thoroughly enjoyed the stay at Walton's lodge. It's located approximately 1.2 miles from the start of the incline, Barr trailhead and cog rail. There were 9 of us who stayed in the lodge and it was comfortable for all of us. We will definitely be back

Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful cabin. The house was plenty big enough for my family and friend. The kitchen was plenty big enough for 4 to 5 people to prepare dinner. I also like that you can talk with others that are in the family room. The outside of the house was so peaceful and beautiful. I would for sure recommend staying at this cabin.

Great place for a family reunion. The house was comfortable and has everything you need.

Was missing bar stools, extra towels furniture was very worn. It was a beautiful setting.

This was an amazing property for my family to have their annual family reunion. The house was very spacious and accommodated all of our needs. We were able to play games in the yard and enjoy the views on the back deck. The kitchen was fully stocked with every appliance you could need to make an Easter dinner. The host responded quickly to messages and was very informative. Everyone that came to the cabin had a great time! We will definitely be looking into this property in the future for other family functions.

What a nice place for a larger group to get away!

Our family all lives in Colorado but we wanted to find a place that could hold around 20 of us for the weekend. This place was fully furnished and perfect for our family with the teenagers staying in the basement in the bunk bends, the older couples staying on the main floor and the younger couples on the upper level. Everyone worked as advertised (tvs, internet, etc.). It sits high over Manitou but we could easily walk and/or drive to downtown. We're considering booking at again for us next year.

Amazing family vacation! It was the perfect spot within 30 minutes of everything on our itinerary!
4.8
We loved the location and the house. It did have some spiders and cobwebs. A couple of the beds were very uncomfortable and probably need replacing. One of the rooms the heat did not work. It was perfect for what we needed. The hot tub was clean and the appliances all worked.
4.8
Clean, private, beautiful inside and out. Comfy beds, tons of cookware, hot tub clean and cozy.
4.8
Well stocked with everything we needed, very homey and comfortable, and we loved the hot tub. We did wish the bunk beds had ladders.
4.8
absolutely amazing house! not only was it large enough for everyone to have their own space but it had all the accommodations for us, towels, toilet paper, we didn’t need to bring anything extra. the home was extremely clean, check out was super easy and they allowed us to check in three hours early! would 10/10 recommend.

The price is lovely once you find it. It is tough to see after dark. I recommend arriving early. Check-in and check-out was super easy.

Beautiful location. Convenient to sightsee. Plenty of room for the family. Well stocked kitchen. Very comfortable.

I have never stayed at a property so well-equipped as Waltons Mountain Lodge. It had really anything and everything that one could imagine, as far as the kitchen goes, including crockpots, 2 different types of coffee makers, plenty of dishes, mixer, utensils, etc. They even had 2 card tables in the basement, which came in handy for our family euchre tournament. Even though there were only 3 full baths and 1 half bath for 19 of us adults, we never had any problems with sharing the baths.
This is a great home for such an event as ours, which I would highly recommend to anyone looking for such a venue.

Sprinkles came on while we were playing a family game in the front yard and the ceiling fan in the master bedroom makes a noise. Otherwise our visit was great. Thank you,
Deloria

Everything about our stay was wonderful. There was plenty of space. The main floor master bedroom and bathroom was perfect for the grandparents, the young adults enjoyed the hot tub, we all love the breeze and the views. The Hot Air Balloon festival was going on so several morning we were treated to about 20 balloons in the sky down the valley. The kitchen had more than enough supplies for our bbq meal. Location is convenient to grocery stores, restaurants, USAFA (30 min away). We would stay here again in a heartbeat. The owner was superfast with responses to my emails.

Everyone loved it! We reconnected from Arizona, Nebraska, California and Colorado, and had a wonderful weekend. Beautiful view off the deck. Plenty of space for games, meals and watching football. The hot tub and the sunsets were the highlight.
4.8
We were there celebrating my oldest son's 40th birthday and with a total of 22 people, (including children ages 10 months - 15 years old) the house was perfect. The weather wasn't real hot so the portable air conditions worked pretty good. We had a question about a refill tank for the grill and John promptly helped us. My communication with John made the stay very comfortable. Thank you, John!!

We hope to come back in the future. we enjoyed our stay.

Property was perfect! You can watch the zip lines from the back porch through the trees! Was the perfect space for a family gathering, close to town but so quiet and peaceful.
The small cottage in front of the house had a couple staying there but we rarely saw them.

Great place for a large group. Lots of things to do. We enjoyed our time together. Thanks

Great place for family to enjoy one another and the beautiful Colorado mountains!

This place was amazing! The house was HUGE and well kept. Beds were comfortable, linens nice and towels soft! Kitchen, bathrooms and laundry were well stocked. Portable air conditioners were appreciated. We were allowed to check in a little early and met the owner and his wife. Very accommodating. The trip up the mountain was well worth it.

This was a delightful mountain hideaway property that fit the needs of our large family perfectly. Delightful location; well stocked; great views. We were a large group and all were very well pleased with the property.
4.8
This house and cottage was amazing for our family reunion! Some had trouble finding it due to fear of heights in the dirt road up to the property. But after finding it the first time (look for cottage and park there), we were able to come and go easily. There were games and activities at the house, and in less than 5min we were in Manatu enjoying shipping, arcades, and spring water! An amazing trip all around and the lodge offered all the space and options we needed to accommodate our large family!
4.8
This house was very comfortable for us. We had plenty of room. The kitchen has all you need. We enjoyed dinners outside on the deck which is surrounded by beautiful mountain terrain. We enjoyed the hot tub. Lots of room to make family memories! Thank you!

Spacious home. Secluded. Views! Ample parking. All the amenities. Close to everything. Friendly, attentive and responsive managers. We enjoyed our time there and recommend it to anyone, especially large families/groups.
