Loved our stay. The hosts were very responsive. We stayed there for a month and we were happy The whole time. The garden was very nice and we really liked walking to Montana and North of Montana.

The property was clean, cozy and very comfortable. The location couldn’t be better. The owners are on site and lovely. They were always prompt with their replies and extremely helpful. The gardens are spectacular, offering a beautiful spot to sit and relax, enjoy a coffee or read. A+ ⭐️👍 and 5 ⭐️s!

The camelias were in bloom to keep me company during my stay in the lovely, comfortable, cozy apt. tucked away at the back of the garden. It is so nicely furnished and well equipped, makes the stay perfect!!!

We stayed a month and a half and would have stayed longer if we could have. The studio was charming and the garden outside a delight! There were tangerines and flowering plants everywhere and we were given total privacy as requested. If we needed anything Natalie always was there even batteries were provided when necessary. Highly recommend this wonderful bit of paradise in the city Leah Levin

The garden was full of flowers and birds and butterflies, such a pleasure to sit end enjoy it all. The apartment is comfortable and charming and close to Montana Ave which offers interesting stores and restaurants. The garden setting is delightful and I look forward to enjoying it again.

Very comfortable, lovely view of garden (with lots of camelias in bloom), Montana location near grocery store, restaurants, other shops, handy public transportation, owners super accommodating. I’m coming again!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this property. The gardens are beautiful, the area is safe and the apartment in comfortable and perfect for 1-2 people. The hosts are also very kind and easy to communicate with. I am looking forward to the next time I can stay here.

My stay of a month was delightful! The lovely garden full of flowers and fruit trees at the doorway of my apt. was a calming soothing contrast to the busy outside world. The apartment was furnished and equipped with everything one could need. This time I took the Santa Monica Big Blue Bus several times to various places nearby. It can take you to downtown Santa Monica and the beach or to UCLA. Bus stops are nearby on Montana Ave. which has many great restaurants and shops. Mary Ann and Natalie are thoughtful and charming hosts , always ready to be of help.

We wanted to experience Santa Monica and this was the perfect location for us to do so. Great restaurants nearby and so close to the beach. Property owners were very nice! Would definitely stay there again. The garden was perfect and provided the tranquility we wanted.

What a lovely and unexpected surprise it was to discover Mary Ann's magical garden and Inn! Her loving touch shows in everything she does-- from the decorative warmth her units exude, to the beauty of her ever blooming garden sanctuary with the bubbling brook. I thoroughly enjoyed my initial month, which was why I ended up staying for 6! (And why I soon found out from the other travelers, that they look forward to returning again and again.) I too shall return! :)

I had a wonderful stay! The property is beautiful and the space was just as pictured. Check in and out couldn’t have been easier, and communication was simple. Only downside was that thin walls made every movement upstairs very loud.

I've stayed in vacation properties all over the world, and this Zen garden spot on 17th is in my top 5! The pictures are accurate and I could not have been happier with the lovely garden apartment hosted by Mary Ann. It's a quiet property with 3 other apartments, and the garden is divine! I spent mornings enjoying coffee out on the porch and evenings by the koi pond. It's secluded and you feel like you are in your own home. Everything needed for a long stay is provided, including all kitchenware--Mary Ann even replaced the blender when it broke--immediately! She is very responsive and friendly. The room is cozy and welcoming and I loved the decor and vibe. It was also very clean! The location is perfect: away from the crazy traffic of busy streets but close enough to the beach to walk (1 mile). I walked all around the neighborhood, which is beautiful. I felt very safe as well. It's right off Montana, where there are great restaurants, cafes, and shops. I will definitely return for another stay when I am next in Santa Monica.

This secluded, attractive unit looks out on a beautiful garden, with nice seating options. Close to Montana Avenue and to lots of pleasant neighborhood walking, good bus service, branch library, easy walk to Wilshire shopping. About a mile to the ocean, esp nice for sunsets.

I hesitate to write this because i don't want the place to get too popular.I've stayed at the Garden Suite many times for several years now and each time it gets better and better. The garden, of course, is glorious and a perfect place to read and quietly work. In fact, I accomplish in my month here than at home-it's that peaceful. Everything about the Garden Suite is five stars, but I'd give Mary Ann, the owner, ten if I could. I happened to mention that the wifi was slow and she immediately installed the latest, state of the art equipment, thus making everything perfect. She's welcoming and warm and will make your stay exactly what you want it to be.

The Garden Suite is tucked away in a lush, private setting ... yet centrally-located near shops, restaurants, and the beach! The studio is comfortable and equipped with everything you need for a long-term stay. We stayed for 2 weeks and loved it. Mary Ann was welcoming and helpful and answered all our questions. You would be hard-pressed to find something comparable for the price in this section of Santa Monica. We would definitely recommend and return!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in this cozy, clean and comfortable ground floor studio apartment. The approach is through a lovely, well-kept garden, which also is in full view of the beautifully decorated apartment itself and available to the guests. The kitchen and bathroom are pretty and well-appointed. The landlady is amiable and I look forward to staying here as often as possible in my visits to the area.

We was here for 1 month, and it was very good. The apartment was clean,quite and cosy. Fantastic garden with many fruittrees and flowers.Montana around the corner with nice stores and resturangs. We come from Sweden for visitings our son with family, who stays here in Santa Monica. We will stay here again. Meril o Love

The apartment was beautifully furnished and comfortable. My Husband and I spent a month while visiting our son, his wife and our grandson who lived nearby. The garden area was a delight and an oasis which meant we could relax between visits. The position is within a few minutes walk to good eating places, shops, a library and a very good bus service. Although it was a hot summer the apartment was cool. There is a laundry which proved useful for a long stay. Mary Ann was friendly and ready to help if needed without being intrusive. We would definitely would like to say there again when we visit Santa Monica.

This VRBO was a pure delight. It was centrally located to shopping, groceries, restaurants. We were in town for a wedding and it was perfect. The gardens were lovely and so peaceful to come home to every day. The garden apt was exactly as described. It was so nice, clean and well maintained. We stayed for a week and I really felt like I go to know the area so well. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to spend time in Santa Monica area. Owner was very nice and helpful in anything that we needed. We have family living in LA and will most certainly be back to stay here. Thank you.

The Garden Suite was exactly as described and in the photos. It was very well maintained, we loved the garden, a great location, and the owner was very accommodating. We were there for a surgery my husband was having a UCLA, Santa Monica and it was the perfect place for recovery and a great neighborhood for walks. We would definitely return again and recommend it to friends or family.
