The property was in a beautiful location with ample parking in the back. House had tons of sleeping and living space.
House was a bit dated but clean and user-friendly

I loved the place, very spacious, cozy, and in a very good location, it has everything you need to spend a pleasant time with the family, it has a games room for the little ones in the house, what I liked was the communication we had With the administrator, he answered every question and call we had...

Overall this was a big property that worked well for a family vacation. Multiple rooms and plenty of space to have a great home-base for a trip with kids that required multiple stops to recharge.

The property and location are beautiful!
Right across from the bay... sunsets are gorgeous! Very roomy. Check in was very easy. Communication with host was good.
I would definitely stay there again!

We stayed in this property for 4 weeks in 2020, and were happy to return, this time just for 4 days. We brought the whole family this time, with 10 of us in the house. We had plenty of room. It’s such a great location, too. We’re already looking forward to coming back a 3rd time someday.

Our second year staying at this home for the Chincoteague Christmas parade. The absolute best place to stay for the parade. Nice home, lots of rooms and well equipped. Would stay again.

We all enjoyed the space!!! There were a few issues - concrete blocks underneath the master bed, master toilet wasn’t working, the ice maker couldn’t keep up and water was an issue on Sunday. Bathtub wouldn’t drain, toilets weren’t flushing properly and water was coming out from underneath the house. I also have never stayed in a VRBO that I had to make the beds. We loved the location but overall the issues out weighed the location.

We had a wonderful weekend stay. Great location and this was our 2nd year staying there and we plan to be back next year!

Very spacious home. Owner is in process of renovating so it should be great once accomplished.

Upstairs master bathroom toilet wasn’t working, which was a bummer - but not unbearable (at least shower was functional). My family has been coming here for years & we love the location & spaciousness of the house. Hopefully we’ll be back next year too.

Was a little outdated but was plenty of room for my whole family and enjoyed our stay...
Will do again....

The owner was easy to contact. Not sure who the manager was. The place was a great size for a group of eight, Handyman fixed the sink that was flowing slowly. It was not as clean as we expected, we’re down one toilet due to a leak, mattress in bedroom upstairs needs replacing, sheets were not on our beds. The place was very outdated with wallpaper being torn in places, dust bunnies in kitchen next to refrigerator. The front door was locked, but would have been easy to break into, felt unsafe & secure locks with codes would have been better. Overall, the experience was a little unsettling. The presentation on the website was misleading.

Very inconvenient not to have the third bathroom functioning. Beds were not very comfortable.

The house was big with plenty of spaces for our whole family to spread out as well as the large eat in kitchen/family room where we all ate and spent time together. The location is great and we were able to walk to shops and restaurants. We had a couple issues but they were addressed right away. It is a big old house with a downstairs bedroom which is great for older family members. The diwnstairs bathroom is small, but the owner is in the process of remodeling the bathrooms. Overall we loved being together there and would stay again.

Lights in both upstairs bathrooms did not work, contacted owner..nothing!! Called handyman..voicemail full. Very, very frustrating experience. Kitchen dishes, pots and pans were filthy. Had to wash everything before using. Very sad!

We experienced 3 major issues with the property.
First, multiple dishes and utensils were unwashed and crusted over with food when we arrived.
Second, we got locked out of the house for an hour the first night of our stay. At check in, the host left us 4 sets of keys on a table inside. What he failed to mention is that these weren't duplicate sets and only one opened the exterior door; they also weren't labeled in a manner that would've made this clear. We contacted the host immediately, around 815 PM, but he didn't send someone until after 9.
Finally, we were locked out of an interior room, where 3 of our kids were staying, for over 9 hours. When we were heading to the beach at 11 am, one kid pulled the door shut behind her, which caused it to lock. None of the keys in the house worked to unlock it, and neither did credit cards, pins etc. We told the host and he acknowledged this was a preexisting problem and promised to have someone unlock it while we were out. When we returned at 530 pm, the door was still locked. We were unable to access our stuff, our kids couldn't change out of swimsuits etc. The host was very slow to respond to calls and texts and didn't ultimately send anyone until about 8. The cleaner he sent didn't have a key, just pins, which again didn't work. She ultimately told us to force the door open, which my husband had to do by throwing his full weight against the door multiple times at risk of injury.
In short, the house didn't meet basic standards

Good things first, location of house is great. Right in middle of town, walking distance to plenty. Size of home is great, we had a full house with grandkids, small pet, three grown kids and sig others. Tons of room. Not great parts- at check in , housekeeper was staying in the home from night before and had to gather her belongings before anyone could enter. She left McDonald’s bags behind. Cleaning is not a thing- corners with dust and cobwebs, a broken kitchen window over sink we had to go outside to push close and hope it didn’t fall off. Kitchen was covered in ants even offer spraying with bug spray repeatedly. Main bedroom had adjoining bathroom that the lights did not work. Immediately notified owner who sent out his property person two days later and he said , “I can’t fix it”. But while he was there he did get the down stairs AC on which was not for the first two days. Upstairs hallways have the wallpaper ripped off walls, main bathroom has a piece of wood fixing a hole in the floor , etc. However my personal main complaint was walking in to a metal screen door sitting in the foyer with nuts and bolts on the floor. Notified owner to which I was told “ I knew the door came down in a storm”. While my husband took the door outside so no one got hurt, I was playing with my grandkids and ended up falling in that foyer on the pieces and broke my toe. Day one of vacation. Also had to buy a propane tank for the grill in order to eat. . .

We had a great trip! It definitely wasn't the cleanest place we've stayed at and when you walk in it has a heavy smell of must/moth balls. There was tons of room and we could all spread out and not feel crowded around each other. The location is absolutely perfect! The house contact person was very kind and personable.

We enjoyed the size of the house and it was great to bring Fido along as well.

We were thrilled with this property. The pictures do not do the house justice. The rooms are large and reasonably furnished. We had 9 adults and a 2-year old. We had plenty of space to spread out. At the same time the common areas were large enough for all of us. The TV's have been replaced with nice sized flat screens. Plenty of parking with room for the dogs to run around outside. Sheets, pillows, and towels were all provided which is a nice plus.
The negatives are minor. The shower downstairs is very small, the house only has 1 refrigerator, and the upstairs deck has no furniture.
We are planning to stay here again the next time that we come to Chincoteague.

The house was perfect for a post-Christmas mini-break with my adult children from out of state. With 5 bedrooms and two living spaces, there was plenty of room for everyone. It is an older home, but it was kept very clean. The kitchen was up-to-date with all new appliances. It was an interesting sort of house because there were architectural and design styles from a bunch of different eras, and this made it very unique. The location right as you come into town is great because it was easy to get to and there is a lot you can walk to. Nice water views from the front of the house.

Wonderful house for our family. Great location and plenty of space.

We love staying at this location. It's large enough to spread out and have privacy when needed, but also has wonderful, shared gathering spaces (kitchen, enclosed porch & family room off the kitchen) The kitchen is well stocked with appliances and dishes (we even baked while there) The location is walking distance to downtown shops and most Maddox blvd attractions. There's a "backway" to avoid traffic lights on Maddox if needed. The coffee shop and food truck behind it has the most delicious pastries I've ever had.

Nice, large house in a great location. Was able to walk to multiple restaurants and the downtown shopping district easily. The food truck behind the adjoining coffee shop was icing on the cake, we were able to walk over with the dog every morning for breakfast.! House is a little dated, but the benefits of this place far out weigh the cosmetic issues. Gorgeous view from the front porch, once the sun got to be too much, we went out back to continue enjoying the weather. Definitely would recommend renting this property!

We have rented this place twice. We found it satisfactory both times. We had a large group; there were enough rooms/beds for all. Also there is a big room that is a living room, dining/kitchen combo, that is good for a large group. It is a nice location with a bay view, and easy access to the small shops along the bay, or the bustle of Maddox Blvd. Met the caretaker and his wife, the housecleaner. Both very nice and helpful people.

Our family of 6 adults and bunny rabbit had a wonderful stay in this spacious house! We enjoyed star gazing at the beach, bike rides, ice cream strolls, and having the bakery and food truck in our back yard for a week. Could not ask for a better location and communication was easy and laid back, just perfect for beach week!

Lots of space, including a large living room/kitchen. Clean. Small bathrooms.

We stay on the island for a week every summer and use VRBO or others for rentals each time. Things you need to know about this location.
The rooms are large and the AC works well - also portable fans are available in every room. The beds we used had good mattresses. Plenty of linens and towels - dated but clean.
However, if you have dust or mold allergies, you might be affected. The shower stalls have moldy corners and the rooms are all clean but a little musty. Also, there are NO tubs. The three bathrooms all have shower stalls. Only one of the showers was large enough for my husband and son - neither weigh over 200 - but the stalls are very small and short! The MBR shower is a decent size, but the door doesn't close and the drain needs work.
The kitchen has newer appliances, but the silverware and utensils are varied and old. Adequate for a beach vacation, unless you love to cook.
Owner was responsive to concerns via text - all in all, a nice place but it does show its age in the general condition.

We gathered our whole family (10 adults and two small children/babies) from around the country for a wonderful week of ponies, beach, fishing and kayaking. The house was perfect for our large group with plenty of room to spread out.

Big house for large families - great location
We rented this house with our four kids and their families. There was so much room we were very comfortable. Front porch was great for relaxing with water views. The AC worked great too.
Very convenient location to walk to town in less than 5 minutes. Two coffee shops practically next door. Plenty of parking
Most important to us is the home is pet friendly as we always travel with our dogs.
We would rent again.

Chincoteague olumn House
There were lots of maintenance issues for example the smoke alarms were non functional. The front door knobs were falling off and made it difficult to use the front porch. The back door could not be opened. The door that we used to go in and out was functional. The house wreaked of a stale smell. There are light bulbs needed through out. The wall paper was peeling. The internet was very weak and every-time you broke contact with (like going onto the porch)it you had to re-log in with the complex passcode.
Very spacious accommodations and very convenient to downtown. We walked a lot of our time. We enjoyed the kitchen/ eating area. The TV connections were good. The small shower was perfect for a small person(I liked it). The yard was nice to be out in. We enjoyed the front porch watching people and cars going by. The community was good. We found many restaurants and food trucks with in walking distance. Great food. The island was only a couple of miles away and we could easily bicycle there and back.
