This was a great location for us and fit our plans, wants and needs perfectly. Marcus responded very quickly to a need we had, and was so kind. The area has so many great options to choose from, and we had a great time. Highly recommend!

Marcus was great to deal with. Very helpful. Worked out an early check-in and had AC running before we arrived. Downstairs is great place for kids to sleep and hang out. Having a master suite on main level is nice for older folks. Deck is a nice place to enjoy coffee or nightcap. During the heat of the day spent most time at HOA lake or pool, or in Yosemite. My family looks forward to staying here again.

Excellent Hosts, very good location and well equipped home. Now. since the 120 entrance to Yosemite Park is opening from June - this location will be ideal...
We were a big family of 13 people and used almost all the things at this home - they are very well stocked in Kitchen and other areas. May be time to change some of the window blinds,

Great Getaway
Me and my family of 12 had an amazing stay here. There was enough room for everyone and a separate space for the kids and adults. The double balcony is the best part. Marcus had everything we needed even a pack & play for the babies.

Lots of room for 5 grand-kids
My wife and I and 5 of our grand-kids spent a week at this property. It has plenty of space for cooking, eating, playing games, watching movies together, but also, the upstairs downstairs both having family rooms allowed everyone to do their own thing as they wanted too. We spent time in Yosemite and on Lake Don Pedro, which were really great. Within the community the beaches and pool were good. Marcus was very responsive to the few questions we had, and is a great owner/manager. The house has a well stocked kitchen, is clean, has great decks for spending time relaxing with a great view, lots of bedrooms, baths, and plenty of room so we never felt crowded. The internet worked surprisingly well considering how far out we were. We would definitely go back again if we are in that area!

A great stay at Above the Pines
The house was very roomy for four adults, two preteens, young children and a newborn. The house provided us with everything we needed. A couple of minor things - the common bath shower upstairs could not be adjusted and the water was too hot for the kids. I wish there was more lighting downstairs especially above the table for games. The driveway gave me a heck of a time parking - I drove a Yukon Denali. Definitely should make the uturn and come back from the opposite side of the street. Got used to it after the third time. Lastly, make sure to follow the directions given by Marcus to reach the house. I passed by Pleasant View Drive on the second day and had to start all over at the gate. Very secure community which made me feel good. Laughed about it. Maybe a future remodel could include the driveway and the shower. Other than that, our stay was great. We saw deer in the backyard the afternoon we arrived and that made the kids super excited for the days ahead. Wish we were able to make use of the fire pit. Next time!

Wonderful Spring Break
Our family had a great time during Spring Break. The cabin was large enough for all of us to spread out and had all that we needed. We cooked breakfast & dinner every day and saved a ton on eating out. Thank you for sharing this cabin with us. We drove over to Yosemite Valley twice (took us about 45 minutes) The other day we hiked the Big Creek Trail (at the Pine Lakes community) and checked out the little town of Groveland. We highly recommend.

Fun for Families
This is our 3rd or 4th stay here. Our kids love coming here playing downstairs in the large family room and playing in the snow located in the back yard. We also like to make S’mores in the fit out. It’s close to Yosemite and there is a grocery store nearby that has everything you need at a reasonable price.

Very nice
Driveway was a real challenge for a 15 passenger van! Handrail downstairs needs repair, one person fell when the handrail didn't hold. Over all the place was fantastic, my friends from South America enjoyed it, especially the wildlife up close.

Beautiful home
Very beautiful home full of accomadations. My family had an amazing stay. The house is super comfortable and there’s lot of space for everyone. This was our second time staying at this house and we will definatley be back when we travel to Yosemite again. The only downfall is the driveway to the house, its very difficult to get in and out. Other than that, it is a lovely house.

Roomy for a big group.
We had our annual family reunion at Pine Mountain Lake. This house was a great fit for us. We all had a room or living room to sleep in. I actually slept on one of the two huge wrap around decks because I like being outside. I brought my mosquito netted pop up tent and I was able to see all the stars that were out!
The huge screened t.v's were a plus and so was the newer type of airconditioning system. It was really warm up there, but the air conditioning kept us cool. There were also ceiling fans in 3 of the 4 bedrooms which were an added plus.
We were supplied with a perfect amount of towels and other toiletries. The washer and dryer worked perfectly when we did have to do a few loads of laundry.
The kitchen was stocked with all that we needed and the refrigerator was a good size. All our groceries could fit perfectly.
I would say the most satisfying part was communicating with Marcus, the owner. He was fantastic with all my questions and some were kind of ridiculous. He has a lot of patience.
The only reason why I gave it 4 stars and not a 5 is because of the parking situation. It is a tough driveway to fit 4 cars because the wrap around driveway is not super wide so it is important that when you are parking that you know who has to leave first in the a.m and park accordingly. There are some spaces at the top of the driveway to park that are on the side of the main road.
The major reason why we chose this place was that it was affordable and roomy. If you have a small or big group you will have a wonderful time here.

Great place
The place was nice and clean. The weather was not the best but the house helped us to be warm and comfortable. On the way up to the house, it was raining a lot and many routes were closed due to heavy rain. The owner helped us a lot with getting their with fast road information, and it was super fast and easy top communicate with him. Definitely would stay again at this place if I go to Yosemite again.

Very nice place; great owner, very convenient location
Very nice house with 4 great bedrooms, super dining room, living space and kitchen. Conveniently located in a town with ample amenities but still very close to Yosemite. The owner was very communicative and ensured all was in perfect order. We would definitely come back here for our next Yosemite trip.

weekend in PML
We recently had a very pleasant and fun stay at this house. We found the house to be very well equipped for both adults, kids and families. The bedrooms are spacious, the downstairs is very nice and large and can provide a nice space for teenagers or adults wanting more privacy. We really enjoyed the large deck to have all our meals while over looking the beautiful view. Over all we would highly recommend this house and can’t wait to come back again.

It is very spacious, comfortable house for a large family. Near by, quiet and relaxing beach on the small lake. Yosemite not far away.
We had a wonderful time there.

A Very Pleasant Family Stay - Close to Yosemite
We, a family of three generations (us the grandparents, our son & daughter and our four grandchildren) were there for a three night stay at the Marcus Family cabin. It is easily accessible and located in a quiet setting of the Pine Mountain Lake Area of Groveland, some 45 minutes to the entrance to Yosemite National Park, which we visited twice during our three night stay there. The cabin with four bedrooms (one is a full suite downstairs) and three bathrooms was both spacious and well furnished. The kitchen is well appointed with the necessary pots / pans and plates, cutlery etc. We had b'fast and dinner in the cabin, and that worked out well. A suggestion is to have a couple of extra chairs (could be folding chairs) to seat eight around the dining table. The air-conditioning generally worked well throughout but the living / dining room area tended to get warm during the day due to the expansive glass / glazing area facing the deck (the picture shows it), but then we were there when the temperature was hot - approaching 100F during the day. The decks were easily
accessible and user friendly. Some of the earlier reviews advised us on the best way to enter the driveway from the street - and that worked out well for our two cars, once we got used to it.
A suggestion to bring your own bar soap (liquid soap is provided), if you prefer to use it, in the bathrooms.
All in all a very pleasant stay in a comfortable, spacious and well appointed setting - close to Yosemite. We will be happy to stay there again on a future visit to Yosemite.

The McDs Yosemite Trip
Marcus & Joy were very attentive to keeping us informed & constantly checked in with us to ensure we had everything we needed. The place was fabulous & fit our family comfortably. We would definitely consider staying there again should we visit the area again. Everything was clean & well maintained. It was nice relaxing on the deck after a long day at Yosemite. Thank you for everything.

Great space for families!
We really enjoyed our long weekend at A View Above the Pines. We had 8 total in our group - 4 adults and 4 kids (ages 7, 9, 10, 15) - and there was plenty of space for everyone. The kids thoroughly enjoyed having their own space downstairs (they commandeered the whole bottom level - living room, large bedroom with bunk beds and a trundle, bathroom, and a wet bar). The decks were awesome - it was pretty warm when we were there (low 100s) so we didn't spend a ton of time outside at the property, but the stargazing at night was beautiful. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals.
If your vacation plan involves Yosemite, there's a YARTS stop very close to PML - it was a great way to get into the park without having to worry about parking (and everyone got to nap on the way back after a day of hiking).
I would also highly recommend making sure you plan to spend a day at the lake - the kids in our group spent about 4 hours splashing and swimming and there was plenty of shade for the adults to lounge and keep an eye on them. Bring chairs/blankets to sit on. The little cafe at the marina was really good and the staff was super friendly. We also took a 6 person paddle boat out and had a blast paddling around the lake for a couple of hours.
The only thing that was an unpleasant surprise was the $27 fee for the visitor parking permit - it's possible that it was in the listing and I did not see it. Be prepared for each car to pay the fee to get a temporary pass. Oh - and there is Wifi, but when more than one or two devices were connected, it didn't work too well. We had reception at the cabin, but not on the drive leading up to it or at the entry - so make sure you screenshot/print/download directions for getting to the property before you go (otherwise you might not be able to get the info from the email).
If we ever come to the Yosemite area again, we will definitely book a stay at this property!

I brought a big group up here for a retreat. Lots of space and very close to Yosemite valley (about 1 hour drive). Marcus was very helpful and responsive...we will be back!

The cabin was perfect for our stay; the two levels allowed children and adults a separate area for relaxing and watching TV.
We spent the days hiking locally or in Yosemite or at the local lake. Marvelous amenities in the community itself include a swimming pool and reasonably priced, great food right at the "beach" plus a number of other options.
The nearby Mar-Val grocery store was invaluable, providing excellent food for grilling and some great deals on wine and beer to end the day well. Daily visits by the local deer were idyllic, plus we enjoyed the colorful birds too.
As mentioned in other reviews, the driveway is a little tricky but once you get the hang of it, it's no problem at all.
The listing states two rooms have a Queen and Full sized bed; these are actually Queen with a Twin sized bed in each room. The Bunk room is perfect for kids and allows the adults an opportunity to stay up a little later if they wish without disturbing the children.
Ideally the beds would have had fitted sheets and the bathrooms need somewhere for towels to hang to dry out for the number of people that the house sleeps. The silverware and some of the pans and plates need to be increased in number to accommodate a full house eating at home, but overall we had a wonderful stay and would not hesitate to revisit this wonderful cabin, thank you to you and your family Marcus!

This house in Groveland was perfect for our family getaway to Yosemite Valley. This location hidden in the woods of Groveland was a great launching pad for our day trips into Yosemite valley.
I would highly recommend this house for anyone looking for some tranquility and peace.

My family and fiancé family stayed at this beautiful house June 2016. We fell in love in this place, we felt like home. Thank you so much for your beautiful house. The lake was so close there with beaches were you can swim and fishing docks. We all had a great time and made beautiful memories! We will definitely book again in the future, thanks again

This place was very clean and inviting. We had a group of 10 adults, 1 child and 1 baby so room was a priority. There was plenty of room for bedding down for everyone and their situations, enough bathrooms and TV's to accommodate everyone's particular needs. We basically drove to the park everyday to hike for the day so this place was mainly for evenings and mornings. We enjoyed the atmosphere for breakfasts and packing all our lunches/equipment for the day and then getting home to crash and eat a big supper and off to bed. Other than being a bit of a way off from the park, we loved our stay here and we would consider coming back here again. Nothing but good memories here for my family.

We had our whole family (3 sons and their wives and children)....8 adults and 5 children aged 6 mos to 8 years. Great spaces, big dining room table and well equipped kitchen...cooked all our meals there. 3 full baths made it comfortable. Easy ride to Yosemite...the reason for our trip. Most of us for the first time!
Driveway a little tricky at first..we decided to drive just past, turn around and approach from opposite direction...then very easy. Fire pit great!

This is a very nice cabin located 30-45 mins west of Yosemite and 30 mins southeast of James Town (Gold Country). The kids really enjoyed the large down stairs family room, where the kids ran around and had easy access to the backyard. The downstairs bedroom which contained a queen size bunk bed included a queen size trundle was really nice. Upstairs had a comfortable Livingroom and dining room as seen in the website photo. There were three bedrooms upstairs, two of which contained a queen and a twin bed in each room. The master bedroom had one king sized bed and own bathroom.
The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 was the cabin was a little dated. The master bedroom toilet holder was broken and there were bunch of cracks in the walls. The water pressure in the shared upstairs bathroom I was told was weak. There was a muggy smell everytime we entered the cabin from outside and the lower level was always cold. The bed mattresses upstairs could be changed out as they were either hard, thin or sagging.
The owner Marcus was 5 star as he was very responsive to my emails and questions I had leading up to our stay including during our stay. The family had a great time and we would consider staying there again in the future.

The weekend was absolutely perfect staying in this beautiful cabin. We had a big group and there was more than enough room for all of us. The house itself is so nice, but the property and location completes it! Everything we needed was provided, and Marcus was such a great host! He was quick to respond to all of my questions, and gave us suggestions of where to hike in Yosemite. (Vernal Falls is a must absolutely breathtaking!) A lot of us had never been to the Yosemite area before, and this weekend made all of us want to return again so soon. We had such a wonderful stay during Easter weekend, we didn't want it to end.... EVERYTHING was great!

At first I was a little nervous booking through this site, since it was my first time.
However, I have to say it was one of the best trips to the mountains. The cabin is fabulous along with the cute community. Just driving up to the cabin was just breath taking!
Everything we needed was there, it was just perfect! The kids had as much fun as the adults did! We had a great trip up to Dodge Ridge ski resort (about 2 hr away) and to Yosemite national park (45 min away).
And not to mention the owner (Marcus) is great, he answered all my questions and even text me on my arrival date to check if everything was ok.... This is a beautiful cabin.
Definitely would love to return!
