The house was perfect for a small family, wall king distance to beach, close to just about everything and yet has the feel of being off the beaten path!
Eve is a wonderful host, very helpful in whatever you may need.
Hope we can return again by ourselves or with extended family. Thanks so much Eve!

We enjoyed our stay so much. House was clean and such a great layout. My husband and I had the bedroom on second floor and kids and grandson had the third floor. We never bothered each other with noise.
The beach was across the street and a short walk. Great short exercise to and from the beach.
Owner was very great to work with. Dryer went out first day we were there and she had it fixed immediately. She also had everything in the house you could possibly need, including beach chairs and a cart to pull everything. We enjoyed our week and hopefully will be back soon.

great size and location
It was a great house in a great location. The kitchen was well stocked but there was no fan to vent the steam or smoke from cooking. There was a fan we used backwards at the door to clear the air but it took us a day to figure that out. There were plenty of linens for the beds. We had three teenage boys in our group. Two stayed in the room with two singles and one stayed in the sun porch although it was sticky in that room. We didnt find out until a few days in that there was actually another cot in the closet of the boys room that would have made it nice for them to all set up in one room. But I guess we should have looked more closely in the closets when we go tthere. There was a note of caution about using the jacuzzi tub as the fixtures were prone to breakage and there would be a fee to fix if it broke again. That was a little unnerving so we just opted not to use it. The owner was very sweet and easily accessible so I am sure it would have been fine but we just didnt want to bother.
There was plenty to do in the area. We spent days at the beach, at the aquarium, fishing on a boat and on the pier. We were not quite prepared for level of wind at this beach area. It seemed stronger than other beach towns maybe because of the southern exposure. The teens were disappointed that there was no traditional boardwalk. Atlantic Beach reports that they have one but it just a wooden walking path near the beach with housing. There is no shopping on a boardwalk that is ocean front like there is in Ocean City etc. The trade off is that there are also fewer crowds and a much more relaxed atmosphere. The town definitely shuts down around 7 pm. The adults would gladly go back again. The teens were not convinced.

Fabulous Stay
The only thing better than this property was Eve, the host. The home is very well furnished from the kitchen to the linens. I never needed a thing, but Eve was right there just in case. She even walked with me and my dog to show us around the neighborhood. I felt so at home that I hated to leave!

We arrived to a spectacular property a short walk from the beach. Far enough out of town that we had quiet nights. The house is very comfortable, and the kitchen was a dream well stocked with great pots and utensils.Miss. Eve was so kind my children (teens and 22) all wanted to adopt her and bring her home. The only down we had was not always being able to get take away for dinner. What makes it practically perfect??? that we had to leave.

Christmas-New Year week
Myself and 2 of my grown children - and our little 4 legged girls - enjoyed the holiday week at Eve's beach house. We had the pleasure of meeting her, as she lives just a block away. It was good to know she was available if needed. The house is an easy and safe walk to public beach access. There is a dedicated walkway just up the street and then over about 1 block to the crosswalk with warning traffic light. Helpful when walking with dogs and/or children. The house is a raised format and one must go up a full flight of stairs to the main level. The ground floor is private. The configuration was fine for us - master on the main level and 2 bedrooms up. IF you have a small dog and use the fenced-in area of the back yard, pay attention to the little doggie door in to the private locked ground level apartment! I didn't realize she would know how to use a doggie door since I don't have one and fortunately I was able to coax her back out with a treat! All in all a very pleasant and comfortable week!

Comfy and inviting
From the moment we entered, we felt at home. The place is bright, clean, and well stocked. We just needed to bring food and our personal stuff. Every bedroom has a TV, with an extra large (80 inches?) TV in the living room plus a jacuzzi bath on each floor. The beach is an easy walk away. Eve, the owner, is super friendly and checked in that all was good. It was. We had no house issues. Our dog agrees the house is great and we need to go back.

Relaxing Environment
We had a really nice relaxing time at Eve’s place. We had a few minor issues with ants and a couple of things that needed addressed but Eve was on top of it. We had a minor accident and my husband tripped and went to catch his self and his hand went through the wall. But Eve was extremely pleasant and nice about the situation. We would definitely stay again.

Family Vacation
Our family had a wonderful time staying at Eve's house. We had plenty of room and was so happy to be able to bring our doodles. The house was clean - no hint of it being a pet friendly house. Very clean. Plenty of towels and little touches like tooth paste, hand soap, cleaning supplies, etc. Downstairs area to keep beach stuff so it was easy to keep the living area clean from sand. Plenty of pots and pans and dishes. We cooked in most of the time and didn't lack any items to do so. Only things I can say negative is that the dishwasher could be updated. Didn't seem to rinse very well. And the walk to the beach wasn't too much of an issue for our family but could see it being a little difficult for someone that isn't used to walking. It would be great if you could walk to the beach directly across the street. Overall we had a wonderful trip and Eve was always easy to contact if there was any need. :)

Nice family trip - property was satisfactory, but far from ideal
Stayed: May 25-June 1, 2019
Party size: 4 adults; 2 teenagers; 1 infant; 2 dogs
Flew in from Houston with my two teenagers to meet my brother, sister-in-law, her mother and their 6-month old (they drove in from Asheville). We had a nice time spending our days on the beach – Atlantic Beach, Ocracoke, Shackleford Banks, Bird Shoal. Overall the trip was good - nice beaches, quiet neighborhood, ample beach towels - we just wish the house itself had been a little more accommodating for our party but we made the best of it. Points to note:
1. While the listing states 3 bedrooms with (1) King, (1) Queen, and (2) twin beds (which is accurate) it also lists extra sleeping accommodations via a convertible sofa/futon in a “sunroom” area off the main living space (property sleeps up to 8). This room is not ducted (HVAC) to main house and the window air conditioning unit was not operational. This led to an extremely hot room (78-82F – I actually bought a thermometer to check). Unfortunately, we needed this extra sleeping area so it definitely made for an uncomfortable stay at times. In the summer this room should not be listed/used, as it cannot be cooled appropriately. If you have a party that needs that sleeping space I would highly recommend looking for another property. If you don’t need it, or you stay during the cooler months, your stay should be fine. We had hoped Eve would be receptive to refunding a small portion of the rental fee due to this issue, but she was not.
2. The second shower (upstairs) is very small (similar to what you might find on a cruise ship). Not a problem if the people showering there are on the smaller side, but harder for taller/larger people. Not a huge issue, but good to know.
3. There is a leak from the upstairs bathroom into the downstairs half bath (apparent in ceiling). Eve mentioned that she was waiting on contractors to finish more significant projects for others recovering from 2018 hurricanes, so I would assume this will be remedied eventually - again not a huge issue, but good to know.

Fantastic
We absolutely loved staying in Eve's property!!! We couldn't believe how quick the week passed and we are planning our next stay right now!!! Eve is an awesome, kind, considerate and accommodating person. Anything that we had a question on or needed was only a call or text away. The home is super clean and convenient to the beach, shopping and dining.
Thanks Eve for being so awesome and look forward to seeing you real soon.

Light and airy vacation home
The owner, Eve, was great to work with and eager that we have a great time. The overall impression when we walked in was of light and an attractive space due to the high ceilings and use of light wood and color. Eve does all the decorating and painting of furniture herself! My 4 year old grandson was enthralled when he walked in because it was so “cute and big”. There was a great-room for family gathering but also a peaceful cozy room behind French doors for reading or other activities away from the group. The Master suite on the first floor was huge and had a walk up jacuzzi tub. Upstairs bedrooms had a view of the ocean from the decks. There were two shadier decks for the hottest days. Would definitely recommend this area and this house for family or group vacation.
Kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies and there was a nice “breakfast” bar.
