About this apartment rental

Located within reasonable distance to the Hocking Hills State Parks. This peaceful country setting is located on a small farm just outside the quaint little town of Tarlton. Surrounded by 16 acres.... over half of it is wooded with trails to explore. While here take time to breathe deeply of God's fresh country air and enjoy the opportunity to unwind from your daily pressures.
APARTMENT:
Sunset Apartment is located out in our barn on the far right. It has 2 bedrooms on the second floor, one with a queen bed and one with a full bed. It will sleep 4 comfortably, but we do allow 5 people. It has 1 Bathroom on the main floor with a tile shower. Outside the bathroom is a Washer, a Dryer and a closet with a cot, folding chairs, games, magazines, and extra pillows and blankets. We provide Towels and Linens. There is a fully furnished Kitchen, a small Table with 4 chairs, a bar with 2 stools. The living area has 1 couch. Complimentary coffee and a few snacks.
OUTDOORS:
Farm animals. (Miniature horses, cows at times, Snowball the cat) Backyard Patio with a fire ring and a removable grill. Playground area. Hammock and Dbl. lawn swing. Above ground pool during the summer months. Trails throughout the woods. Another fire ring back in our wooded area.
CELL SERVICE/TECHNOLOGY:
We have Spectrum phones which use Verizon towers - our phones do pretty well. But we cannot guarantee cell service or internet service, since it has been dropping to our dismay the last number of years. There will be better service outside, since it's a metal building. Our Internet provider is T-Mobil with limited fast service. (No guarantee of internet service) There is a smart TV with a Samsung DVD player. Bring your favorite DVDs. Great time to take a break from technology.

LOCATION:
We are located 45 minutes southeast of Columbus, 20 minutes from Circleville the home of the Pumpkin Show, 25 minutes from Tecumseh (outdoor drama) and 15-20 minutes to Rock House one of the Hocking Hills State Parks. There is a IGA with fuel and groceries, a Dollar General with groceries and a few small diners in Tarlton just a few minutes from here. And plenty more to do to keep you busy for a number of days. Come enjoy God’s beautiful creation!

This place is spectacular. Peaceful and quiet. The hosts are available but give you your space and privacy. The farm animals are sweet and Snowball the greeter cat is the best. She had breakfast with us every morning and gave us a great tour of the grounds. At night it is quiet and the fireflies entertained us after full days of intense hiking. The location is a bit remote but perfect if you are not looking for city life. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get away!

It was just what we needed for time away from the stresses of life. The rooms were clean. The window unit kept us cool, even though it was 95* outside. The only downside was the bathroom is downstairs and the bedrooms upstairs. Even though we are on the owners property it was very private. They kept to themselves.

The setting is like a postcard, so peaceful and serene. Phil and Norma are beyond friendly and helpful. Excellent communication with them. The apartment had everything we needed and was immaculately cleaned. Close enough to Hocking Hills for us, but away from the crowds. Highly recommend and will stay here again if we are back this way in the future.

We had a great 3 night stay visiting Hocking Hills State Park. The apartment was very clean and located on a beautiful and meticulous landscaped property. Our kids enjoyed petting and feeding the miniature horses and being greeted by the curious little cat roaming the property outside. Lots of restaurants to choose in the nearby area.

Very nice clean apartment for the stay. It was really nice being able to wander the estate, see the animals and generally relax on the property. Close to Hocking Hills for hiking during the day.

Very peaceful country setting, owners have miniature horses, and cows to greet you in the morning on the property. Apartment is very clean and modern. Kitchen is fully stocked and was actually nice to not have cell phone service for a few days.

Very clean and taken care of. Hosts went above and beyond with sending local attractions and conveniences and even leaving the outside light on because we were arriving late. Would definitely recommend and would definitely use again in the future. Only things I would say could use some improvements would be a better coffee maker and more water pressure in the shower. Both of these things are personal preference and would not hinder me from renting the place again.

Wonderful, clean rural property with a full kitchen, which is what our family needed for a speech and debate competition at Ohio Christian University. Eat-off-the-floor clean. I love and appreciate that! One of my boys decided to sleep on the rug on the floor of the bedroom instead of sharing a bed with his brother. I had no hesitation letting him do that! Better sleep for everyone. I only wish we had more time to explore the surrounding area! We will definitely be staying again in the future.

The Sunset apartment was perfect for four adults. We were greeted by Snowball the cat right when we arrived and were able to enjoying the other farm animals during our visit. The apartment was clean and nicely decorated and had everything we needed and more! The property was gorgeous and well maintained and within 30 minutes of Hocking Hills. We are looking forward to staying here again the next time we are in the area. Thank you Phil and Norma!

My daughter and I stayed here for a long weekend to hike in hocking hills. The location was great - within 25 minutes to many trails. The property was very nice and well-maintained. The apartment was spotless and well equipped with basic needs plus some. I would recommend staying here. No complaints and happy with our stay.

Beautiful property, appreciated cleanliness and home feeling, we were comfortable and enjoyed the stay. The price was great and close to the attractions in multiple directions. There was a binder within the apartment for local info, we appreciated that. Only con was cell/WiFi service. Luckily we wanted to unplug, but it was frustrating to not have the tv and hard to connect to the WiFi with phones or DVD player for viewing something.

Beautiful location. Very peaceful & relaxing. Only downside in my opinion is that the bathroom is not on the same floor as the bedrooms. For us older adults, that can be a bit more challenging in the middle of the night!

Everything about this property and the surrounding area is peaceful and beautiful! The location is so convenient to all the attractions for Hocking Hills, Chillicothe, Lancaster, and Circleville. There is a resident welcome wagon between the mini horses, cows, birds singing, hummingbirds, butterflies, and Archie the adventure cat. Norma and Phil are both great on many levels, went above/beyond, and provided super helpful ideas/recommendations before and during our stay. I will recommend this property to all my friends – 5 stars for sure!

We chose to go to the Hocking Hills for our family vacation this year and we were not disappointed. We had no idea Ohio held such beauty. And this property was perfect! We were close to everything we wanted to see. It was in a rural area, but all the conveniences we needed were within 2 miles of us. The Stoltzfus family made us feel as though we WERE their family and we truly felt at home here. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable and so memorable. You may just see us again!

The barn apartment was so clean, cute, and updated! It had everything we needed. The Wifi is very slow but it didn’t matter to us because we didn’t stay there to stare at screens. Lol! The property was so picturesque and private! We will definitely stay there again!

A perfect place to stay if you want to get away from everything. Just 15 minutes from Hocking Hills State Park, and some great shopping in some small town stores. Would have given it five stars except for difficulty using internet. Also no cable TV but plenty of other wonderful things to do in the area.

This is a perfect spot for our Hocking Hills visit. The rental was in great shape and had everything we needed. We even were visited multiple times by the super friendly cat that was hanging around. You will want to make sure you have your plans mapped out because internet is spotty in that whole area. Thanks for the hospitality!
