This is a very nice house with a 5 minute walk to the beach. The beach is not crowded at all. The neighborhood is next to Cape Henlopen State Park on one side and the Cape May - Lewes Ferry on the other side. It is a 1 mile drive to downtown Lewes. Our family of 8 was very comfortable staying there. There is a ton of space, both indoor and outdoor. The screened porch on the top floor was our favorite spot. I highly recommend 8 Sandpiper!

Plenty of space, great layout, kitchen well appointed (actual sharp knives!). Fantastic garage area with enough room for 4 cars shaded under the home, and 2 more in the driveway. Great proximity to beach and Henlopen park, but far from town. We’re walkers, and did the walk to and from town anyway (1.5 - 2 mi each way, depending on destination), so that makes it less accessible to walk places, kinda forces you to drive more.
We were disappointed the pool was under renovation, as that was most of the reason to select that property (4-8 yo’s with less beach tolerance than adults). But positive note, last minute found one of the kids did a big no-no and stained carpet with ’slime’. Kelly was great and y ty hey were able to clean it up without charging us or damage insurance.

My family and I had such a nice stay! The house was clean, spacious and a perfect location. We loved the bay beach which is walking distance (5 mins!) from the house. It was perfect for my 18 mo, his first trip to the beach :)

What a beautiful home in a great location! Such a short walk to a basically private beach, great pool for children and adults. The house has more than you could ever need! We adored our vacation here!

Very nice property. Would be nice to have a TV in the kitchen dining area. That way the family room could be used as a kid room. Couches in both rooms close to needing . I know not always easy as a rental. Enjoyed the stay and would rent again. Thank you.

We were five couples visiting Lewes for the first time and loved it despite Hurricane Ian. The house was perfect with space to gather as a group; also plenty of space for privacy. The kitchen was very well stocked, making it easy for us to prepare our "gourmet club" meal one night. We will definitely stay here again.

Our family loved this home as our base for the week. On the couple of rainy days there was plenty of indoor space and protected outdoor space for our 7 adults and 3 grandkids (2,1, 3 months). On the many beautiful beach days, we loved coming back to a home complete with a private bath for each group and a large, welcoming kitchen and dining area for shared meals. We enjoyed several nights of games and conversation on the lovely covered deck just off of the family room. The nearby bay was great for a quick splash in the water or a walk on the pier. We loved Cape Henlopen and could be to the beach in 5 minutes!! This area has amazing sunsets too. We plan to make it part of our family tradition in the years ahead.

The Best Home Vacation in Lewes!
Our 3 generation family really enjoyed our 7th consecutive Lewes vacation at 8 Sandpiper Court this year! The spacious, well-furnished, artfully decorated home was spotless upon our arrival. Kelly provided easy-to-access check-in procedures. The beach and pool were a pleasure, just a few blocks walk. While remnants of Tropical Storm Ida passed though mid-week with wind and rain, we enjoyed indoor activities with all the comfort and space of this home, with all our beach and bike gear staying safe and dry in the spacious storage area under the house. We took windy day trips into town, took the Overfalls Lightship tour, and enjoyed dinner at Grain on the Rocks, watching the ferry come and go, a special treat for our 3 1/2 yr old grandson! We had a great time at a great home!

Great location, spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished home.
Beautiful home with plenty of open space for our family - Our 3 children and spouses as well as 4 grandchildren ages 2 thru 6. Beds were super comfy and the kitchen was fully stocked. A perfect setting for our first full family get together since the start of COVID.

Lucky find!
Our two families had been coming to Lewes each summer for a couple of years. Our usual house was unavailable when we tried to book it and then we found this beautiful house! It was a tremendous upgrade to our previous rental.
The floor plan allowed for privacy when one needed as well as large, open spaces for group gatherings. The beds were very comfortable, the bathrooms were clean and beautifully built with quality materials. The kitchen had everything you could need to prepare an elaborate meal, including a gas stove. The only suggestion I would make is to give the cooking knives a little TLC every so often --the edges were shot and trying to slice anything was a chore.
Overall, it is an outstanding house in an awesome location. Our kids loved it! We look forward to returning in the future!

Exceptional property
This house has everything. Furnishings are all great quality, space is very usable with a large screened in porch, two indoor seating areas, well equipped kitchen with a very large dining table , and ample bathroom facilities. The whole property is exceptionally maintained.

Cheery home in a perfect locale!
This is a vacation home that you truly can leave all your worries at home. The decor was cheery and all the furnishings, especially the beds were comfortable. We appreciated all the space in the garage area to store all the grandkids' beach toys, our bikes, kayaks, and fishing rods. The neighborhood was quiet and perfect for all our bucket list adventures in Cape Henlopen! And, if you have grandkids, I would recommend the Cape Magic Eco cruise. We were surrounded by dolphins who entertained us for at least a half hour.
The location is perfect also if you have bikes as you can ride into Lewes or Cape Henlopen. And, the bay beach at Cape Shores is a perfect spot to view the sunset after enjoying a home cooked meal prepared in the spacious well stocked kitchen and shared at the big dining table. The weather was hot the week we stayed, so we would have liked to take advantage of the porches more. Hopefully, the next time!!

Excellent Stay
The property was well maintained and had been cleaned prior to my family's arrival. The location was a short distance from both the nearby pool and ocean, which was useful when having to shuttle young children back and forth between each. The house had both indoor and outdoor common areas where family members could congregate. We have so many great memories from our stay and look forward to going back in the future.

Our Favorite by Far
We loved our stay at 8 Sandpiper. The house was wonderful and the location was perfect. We did find some items under beds left by past guests, but overall the house was very clean and well kept. Nice, quiet location with an easy walk to the bay and a short drive to the ocean. We would love to stay again.

Perfect House
Everything was perfect at the house! It’s a great size for a large group and a 5 minute walk to the beach. There are so many amenities available at the house, including a fully furnished kitchen with anything you would need. I will definitely be staying again, if I have the chance!
5.0 / 10.0
We had a wonderful stay at this house. It is beautiful inside and out- well decorated and well maintained. It had everything we needed to cook several good meals in the kitchen. The beds were comfortable and the location was great. We did have an issue with check in where we were not given the lock box code. Turns out we were the first rental for the season and the email wasn't sent with the information from VRBO. Unfortunately, we weren't getting to the house until late at night and didn't realize the code was missing until very late in the evening. Once the owners realized we had a problem, they did everything possible to make the situation right. It was obvious they were very upset at the mistake and felt terrible. I don't foresee this being a problem for future renters and we've learned we need to make sure we have all the check in information before we leave. If we had, this situation would never have happened. We hope to come back again!

Excellent property in a great location
We loved this property (We've stayed at many in the Rehobeth area). It is well laid out, well equipped, light and airy, very spacious feeling, very well maintained and clean. The owner was very helpful and easy to deal with. The bay beach was great for the grand kids ages 4 and 6, and being less than a mile from the wonderful state beach was very convenient. All of the services (restaurants, groceries, gas etc) are just a short drive away. We would certainly book here again.

Clean, comfortable, well-equipped
A lovely beach home- 5 bedrooms and a quiet den, as well as a large kitchen/ dining room/ living area. We gathered with our adult kids and grandchildren - ages 3 months to 6 years. Plenty of room to spread out. Due to COVID-19, we stayed close to the house, but with the bay, the ocean, biking in the park, it was a well needed relaxing escape. The owner was very responsive to all communication. Excellent rental.

My family greatly enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean and beautiful. We loved the location and the neighborhood amenities as well as the proximity to the beach. We did not know we had to bring paper products (paper towels, toilet paper) so it would have been useful to have known in advance but otherwise a very satisfying stay.
