We have wanted you to know what others have said about staying with us and about the care and love we have lavished on the unit. And so we are going to offer you one recent review here:
Another AMAZING Maui visit
In past reviews, I have raved about Stafford and Nancy's place. This one continues that pattern. It's hard to honestly describe how nice this condo is, how well located, how EXTREMELLY well stocked, and how AMAZING the owners are. We had a wonderful time (except we had to leave and come home). Nancy checked in with us on our first day to make sure everything was great, and gave us a farewell call on our last day. I have rented from VRBO probably 30 times, and this couple are hands down the best owners to work with. If you get an opportunity, book this condo - you will be thrilled. But dont book in January - we plan to come back every year.

We are very much hands-on owners and regularly update and maintain the unit - the closet sliding doors were replaced in 2018 as was the stove (or is it an oven?) The living room air conditioner was replaced in 2023, the dishwasher in 2023, and the tables in 2020. And in August of 2023, the bathroom was renovated to install new pipes in the wall (evidently, plumbing only lasts so long), new fixtures, and tile. although the condo has been updated but still it has the feel of the tropics in the furniture, art work, and color scheme.
If you have read the reviews, you know that we supply everything we can think of to make your vacation easy and stress-free. We have herbs and spices, sugar, aluminum foil, plastic wrap, storage bags, shampoo and conditioner, laundry detergent, lots of bath tissue, paper towels, and Kleenex. And, of course, pots and pans, cooking utensils, dishes, glasses, etc. There are lots of pillows - we regularly toss older ones and buy new - beach towels, regular towels, and sheet sets. Oh yes, and beach chairs, boogie boards, beach bags, coolers and blue ice. Please know that we make every effort to keep the condo well-stocked; forgive us if we are temporarily low on some items.
We suggest that you check in to the condo before you buy anything but your personal food and drinks to avoid spending vacation money on things already in the unit (this note was a suggestion of a recent guest).
We are at the condo at least three times a year to deep clean (as in on hands-and-knees scrubbing the tile, cleaning and polishing the Pergo, and cleaning the area rugs) and restock all of the supplies we provide for you. It is important to us that the condo and its contents are clean and well-arranged. And Maggie, our housekeeper, is outstanding. We are so lucky to have her. We all do our best to keep the unit clean and you safe and healthy. But still, in this age of covid, when you decide to travel, whether to Hawaii or elsewhere, there is the risk that you might contract this virus or another illness. It’s a risk that you need to think about and decide if you want to assume.
The location of the Maui Vista is across the street from Charlie Young Beach, the north end of Kamaole One Beach Park. It’s a short two-to-three-minute walk to the beach. There are many shops and stores within walking distance on South Kihei Road and a grocery store (Foodland) about a half a mile north of the condo.
We hope that you will decide to travel to Maui and that you will seriously consider staying in Maui Vista 1225.

Information on taxes:
As on Feb.. 1, 2021, vrbo has added THE GENERAL EXCISE TAX OF 4.167% (now 4.712%) TO ITS SERVICE FEE (not their idea - the state required it). Vrbo shows that tax separately.
In January of 2023, Maui County added its own Transient Accommodations tax of 3% and in January of 2024 upped the General Excise tax from 4.167% to 4.712%.
These two changes bring the total tax you pay to 17.962%. (State TAT = 10.25%, County TAT = 3%, and GET = 4.712%)
Vrbo now is co-mingling (with the accommodations taxes) the tax you are charged on the management fee from Maui Condo and Home (our on-island managers, required by law). The fee of $50 is shown separately but the Transient Accommodations Tax and the General Excise Tax on the $50 are co-mingled with those taxes on accommodations.
Hawaii requires that you are told what taxes you are paying - taxes that are "visibly passed through" to you, so that's why this note. You will be paying $8.98 on the $50 Maui Condo fee.

The rental unit truly was set up with guest accommodation and comfort as a top priority. It’s in a great location just across the street from the beach. There are several food and convenience shops within walking distance. Don’t hesitate to book!

Appreciate the care and thought put in by the owners to make it an enjoyable stay. Two a/c units in the condo was a major plus.

We have stayed here in Nancy and Stafford's condo a few times and the last time was five years ago. It felt like coming home it is such a special place and is spotlessly clean. This was our first trip to Maui and I am so glad we booked this property! It was very clean, cozy and well equipped which made the trip planning so easy. The home owners are great with communication and the check in process was a breeze. The property was across the street from Kam Beach I, we walked to restaurants, and it was central with easy access to everything we did on the island. This condo was an affordable stay within walking distance of beaches, restaurants and shops. We especially appreciated the amenities including the pool, laundry, free parking, beach gear provided by hosts and air conditioning. The condo was clean and spacious for the two of us, and it was nice to have office staff available if needed. Nancy and Stafford checked in with us and provided an exceptional experience for our first trip to Maui! We would highly recommend this stay for others.

This was the most amazing condo we have ever stayed at. From the location to the abundance of supplies provided, we were mind blown. The communication with Nancy was outstanding, she even called before we left to see how our stay was and of course I could say nothing but the best. We've stayed at a handful of VRBOs the past couple years and Nancy made this the best experience. She called us once before our stay and twice during to check in and see how we were doing. That willingness to pick up the phone made us feel more welcomed than a email. The owners property management company also reached directly on two occasions as well. It's that personal touch that's been missing in our other stays.
The property is exactly as described and we couldn't ask for more. Nancy advised we check in first before shopping for necessities and I'm glad we did. The condo was stocked with everything we needed including beach supplies. We didn't have to rent beach chairs or boogie boards even! There was an abundance of towels and linens and the in unit laundry center made me glad we packed light.
This really felt like a home to us, rather than a vacation rental. On a stormy day we were happy to stay in and enjoy the comfortable, homely feel of Maui Vista. My only regret is this unit is already booked out, but if ill be watching for vacancies that jive with our schedule!

My friend and I stayed here for one week, March 21-28, 2024. The location is perfect across from a great beach with fabulous sunsets and just a short driving distance to Wailea beaches. Nancy is super pleasant and easy to work with. The condo is stocked with everything you could even think you’d need, which is not the norm. Most condos only give you starter sets of everything then you have to buy what you ran out of. Not here. She has ample supplies of everything. The in-unit washer and dryer is so handy too. Yes, she provides detergent too! The bed is super comfy and parking is easy and abundant. I would highly recommend booking this condo but beware she fills up at least 1.5 yrs in advance! My friend and I are already looking at available dates to book our next girl’s trip!

We absolutely loved Nancy’s condo! The location was excellent, right across the street from the beach and within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Our kids learned how to surf right down the road. The condo was clean and exceptionally well stocked. We appreciated the beach chairs, beach towels, and boogie boards. The air conditioning was wonderful in the bedroom and living room. I think what really set this property apart from all the others though was Nancy herself! This condo hit all the five stars when it came to cleanliness, check-in, location, and owners. My family and I stayed for three weeks and it felt like home to us. The condo is stocked with pretty much anything you can think of, from first aid kit, to multiple blankets to pick from, to all the beach equipment you will need. The pull out bed in the living room was great for our toddler and there was even a pack n play crib for our infant. On top of the condo having everything in it to make your stay feel like home, the location was absolutely perfect. The easy walk to Kalama park, food trucks, and Charley Young beach. We found ourselves at the park mostly everyday for the playground, surfer watching, hockey watching, and even free skate every Friday and Saturday night at the outdoor hockey rink if you have your own skates. Another reason to add to the five star review was the host, she called us the day we got in to make sure everything looked good for us and she also called close to our last day to make sure we were happy with the stay. We will be making our future trips to this same condo since we do come every two years and we just might make this place our permanent oasis.

Unit is located close (5 min walk) to Charley Young Beach. Unit has beach towels and other beach equipment for your use. Unit was within 20-30 mins of the airport which is relatively central to the start of all typical trips (Hana, Haleakala, West Maui). Be aware that during the condo’s quite time (10pm-8am) the trash chutes are closed and locked (you are unable to use them for an early morning departure).

Condo was well supplied with nearly anything you might need. The condo is centrally located with easy access to numerous beaches and also within walking distance of shopping and dining. My husband and I stayed in Nancy’s condo for our anniversary. The condo has everything we need for the stay. We were surprised to find out that it also has beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, etc. we had a great time there. We will return in the future.

We've enjoyed staying at Nancy and Stafford's Maui Vista condo several times now, because their care of the condo and concern for their guests is superb! So much of what we could want or need during our stay is already provided. From the kitchen to the bathroom to DVDs and books to just about anything we need for a day at the beach or a drive around the island, it seems all we have to do is open a closet, cabinet or drawer and there it is! Over the years, Nancy and Stafford have made us feel like 'ohana even more than guests. And for these reasons and more we'll keep returning to this welcoming, beautiful and relaxing condo in paradise.

The condo is clean and has everything you'd need for a family, including boogie boards in the closet and plenty of dishes/supplies.
The location is nice, across the street from Charlie Young beach. Our family really enjoys snorkeling and if you walk across the street to the beach and walk to the right , there are some snorkeling opportunities. I do like kamaole II beach a little bit better , and it's a short 1/2 mile walk from the property.

Cozy nest with great location
The pictures and description weren't completely accurate - Nancy and Stafford's place was even more than we could have imagined! We could tell from her fully stocked condo that she goes all the way in making her guests feel at home. The beach towels, boogie boards, beach umbrella, and coolers were super useful at Charley Young Beach, which was just a 5-minute skip and a hop away. Our daughter who's into cooking was awed by just how stocked the kitchen was: modern electric range and full oven; microwave; full-size refrigerator; every cooking utensil imaginable; plastic food containers; and my favorite - Keurig coffee maker. Plus, the location in Kihei was close to some of the best beaches (Maluaka, Makena, Wailea), markets (ABC Mart, Foodland, Safeway), and restaurants (Kihei Caffe, Maui Brewing Co) in Maui, and just 30 minutes to Costco and the airport. One more thing: The pool seems heated! We loved the condo so much, sometimes it was hard to spend time outside! But don't abuse the condo's amenities - treat Nancy and Stafford with the same love and respect they give their condo and guests!
