About this apartment rental
This is lovely, comfortable, beachfront accommodation, fully furnished, and traditionally redecorated in sympathy with its age. Feel as though you have stepped back in time. It is nice and cool in the summer, and cosy and warm in the winter. The flat is located right on the beachfront at Opua. Wake up to the sound of sea gulls and stunning views over the Bay. Opua is very quiet, but there is always something happening and something to watch, whether it is the car ferry chugging back and forward across the bay, or yachts and motorboats making their way in and out of the harbour. Sometimes you can be lucky enough to see dolphins or orca. The homestead is only 100 metres to the car ferry and general store and another 100 metres to the marina and cafe. By road, it is 5 kilometres to Paihia or Russell. It is right at the beginning of the coastal walkway from Opua to Paihia. Other lovely walks are only a short distance away. There is also a cycleway from Opua to Taumarere Station. It is simply the best place for a relaxing, rejuvenating holiday or weekend and a perfect location from which to explore the stunning Bay of islands and the Far North. Please note - there is another apartment upstairs in the building that sleeps 6 people. Please see the separate listing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was warm on arrival (terrible night with rain and thunder), and had all the facilities we needed. Excellent location. We used all Delwyn's recommendations: did the walk to Pihia and purchased coffee from the local shop and dined at the Cruising Club. Would certainly recommend.

We had such a nice time here. The space was much larger than we expected and felt like a home rather than a hotel room. We loved it so much we extended our stay by a few days ☺️ highly recommend

This is one of the best locations in the BOI, the views are stunning, at high tide it feels like the water is lapping at your door, you have a local cafe, chip shop, store and yacht club for food choices, the ferry to Russel is 200m up the road, Paihia is only a 5 minute drive and there is a walk that you can take all the way to Paihia if you want. I would give this location more stars if they were available. Thanks

Got there in the winter and it was already heated for us. Beds were comfy. Lots of help from Chris the caretaker. Such a wonderful view on a quiet street. Would stay again when we come back.

This property exceeded our expectations, so clean, spacious and comfortable it felt like coming home. My sister and I had booked this for a few nights away with our elderly mother, she is partially blind due to macular degeneration but was able safely navigate her way around the flat. We had an absolute ball! The weather was perfect, the location was idyllic, my sister and I did the coastal walk which was beautiful, the fish and chips from the takeaways at Opua were some of the best we've tried, even just walking around the marina with mum in her wheelchair was beautiful. Chris the property manager was beyond helpful and makes beautiful blueberry muffins.
Yes so many memories were made here, for all 3 of us.

Had a wonderful relaxing stay in this amazing place. Chris was super welcoming and helpful, and the historic house is comfortable with everything you need. We loved being right by the water and took our paddle boards out every day. There’s lots to do in the local area too. We visited Waitangi and really enjoyed the fabulous new museum. We also walked round to Pahia for lunch and another day took the car over to Russell on the ferry.

Lovely location on the bay with the perfect porch to enjoy our morning coffee. The home was spotlessly clean, updated in all the right ways without compromising the historical feel of the home. The beds were very comfortable. We will return if we ever visit this beautiful corner of the world.

We had a great 3 nights here, the location is perfect and the accommodation full of character and history, while still being comfortable. The overseas visitors I brought with me were really delighted when we pulled up outside, and couldn't stop saying how lucky we were to be staying there. Would stay again!

Very comfortable place to stay, in a beautiful location. Love just sitting on the porch watching the bay. Walking or cycling trails to explore to the north and south, good food options nearby, and the ferry at the end of the street makes this a perfect spot to relax for the week.

Bayview is a glorious old home, maintained in excellent condition. The setting right on the waterfront is exquisite, and hours can be spent gazing across the bay. The unit is well set up, and staying there is a delight.

My husband and I were made very welcome by Ciello and her husband and found the accommodation comfortable and homely. The view on the bay with its sailing boats was spectacular. The furniture matches the historic house, which is really nice.

This property was built in 1885 and in my younger years I recall that it had got a bit run down. Hoever, it has been wonderfully and tastfully restored to its former glory incorporating all the modern conveinices that we required for a very comfortable stay in peaceful Opua. The onsite hostess was very helpful, there to let us in and show us around when we arrived. Having kayaks available was an extra bonus for me and I got in a couple of good paddles during our stay.
