We were looking for a comfortable but rural stay and this is what we found. We enjoyed hearing the sheep in the morning. Having the chance to feed and pat them was great for our boys. Drum manor forest park was so close and the perfect place to unwind.

This property was all you could wish for - a home from home. The welcome pack on arrival had tea, coffee, milk and sugar as well as salt and pepper, oil and cookies. First impressions of the property were of quality; the fixtures and fittings were of a very high standard. The kitchen was very well equipped. The house was spotlessly clean, the beds were extremely comfortable with good pillows, and having an electric blanket was very welcome. The heating is set to come on at good times so we never felt cold. The caring, friendly hosts kept us informed and were very helpful when we couldn’t get the TV working, coming over at 9p.m. to sort it out (we’re rubbish with technical stuff). Highly recommended; we would definitely choose this property if we were ever staying in this area again.

This is a big house with plenty of onsite parking and is spotlessly clean. The house is about 3 miles to the centre of Cookstown but very easy to drive in for restaurants etc. The hosts are just the best and extremely helpful. When we asked about doing the usual bin emptying etc on exiting we were told that we shouldn't have to do anything as we are on holidays. How refreshing... but we emptied the bins etc, anyway. Heating is timer controlled and very easy to modify based on our usage of the house. Internet is reliable and relatively fast (fast enough for streaming) and average for NI. Two lounge rooms meant that I could watch what I wanted on TV (vs my wife's choices :-)). The house appliances are excellent and in good order.
The house has only one shower over a bath so if the house is full (and it is a big house) then a second bathroom may be required. Personally I hate Power Showers (or as I call them Powerless Showers) as you have to run around in the shower to get wet. Since many places we looked at also have powerless showers this may not be an issue for the British. We also prefer King Beds vs the Queen beds in this house but this is also a matter of preference. The kitchen could also use a pair of tongues and a proper sized ironing board.

Craigs Rock Cottage is a 5 star property.
A well maintained and comfortable home from home.
One of the best properties we have ever stayed in with all the amenities you would need.

Near to a large range of shops, prehistoric sites and forest walks. Open fire with plenty of fuel for a starter fire. Generous Welcome Pack.

Craig's Rock Cottage is spacious and comfortable base for exploring beautiful Northern Ireland. There are four comfy bedrooms, two sitting rooms, well appointed kitchen and even a utility room. The hosts, Pauline and Alistair really went the extra mile to accommodate any requirements we had. We especially loved the lovely homely touches at the cottage and the opportunity for our children to feed their small flock of lambs! P.S. If you haven't visited Northern Ireland before - don't wait! It more than equals the scenery of Devon or the Lake District, with half the traffic!
The house was perfect for our requirements so no negative points.

The location was fantastic. A short few minutes drive into the main town. The house itself was situated along a small country lane and although it was a semi detached you would think you were staying in a detached house. It was so so peaceful and absolutely spotless with everything you could wish for and more. It was just like being at home with everything you needed at your fingertips. The Welcome pack was a lovely touch and so thoughtful from our wonderful Host Pauline. We will definitely come back and stay at the cottage as it was outstanding. +++++++
There was nothing we did not like and nothing that we would change. To say the Hosts we informative was an understatement and Pauline was there to greet us in the rain.!! She was very close by should we have needed her but left us to our privacy. We knew that if we had any queries she would have answered them but because of the excellent facilities we did not require her assistance.
