About this house rental
One of the 8 beachfront 'Coign estate' houses, Coign 5 is a large, open, free-standing beachfront house at the northern end of Tangalooma Resort. Most of the Coign houses aren't available for rental, making Coign 5 one of only 3 of these exclusive houses privately available for rental, and right on the beach. Much bigger than the villas, Coign 5 is perfect for one or two families to holiday together, whilst also being the perfect romantic weekend getaway for two.
Whether you're a family who wants a base to have fun together, taking advantage of the many activities on offer at the Resort, or you just want to chill, then here is the place to do it.
Be aware that this house is elevated one floor above ground level, and is a two storey house, making it two flights of stairs to reach the upper living room and kitchen areas. So if stairs may be a problem, then this isn't the house for you. However, the views are amazing.
"This house has everything that anyone could wish for.." said one of our guests. Come for a weekend and we guarantee you will want to stay a year. "We never want to leave!", said another.
Indulge in your own freshly prepared feast created in the 'chef's kitchen' or let the tong-masters loose on the BBQ on the back deck. Perhaps you could forget cooking and relax for the night...let the Resort chefs indulge you at one of the restaurants.
There are books, magazines, CDs, DVDs and videos for those nights or days when you absolutely don't want to do anything else but stay put.
Spectacular views across Moreton Bay to Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast make hours lazing on one of the expansive decks a delight. There is always something to see, from the boats passing, to pods of dolphins, and, in season, whales have been coming into Moreton Bay again.
The beautiful soft white sand, right in front of the house, and the crystal clear water make the beach a must. At most times of the year the water is perfect for children to swim and play.
If just chilling isn't for you, you can be as active as you like ! ... just a short walk down the beach, you can take part in Resort activities, and go sailing, canoeing, scuba diving, or snorkeling, or throw caution to the wind and rent a jet-ski. You can hire a 'tinny' and some fishing lines, and chill, catching dinner right in front of the Resort; or get adventurous and go for a quad-bike ride, or try para-sailing.
If you bring your 4X4 you can drive to see the many beautiful beaches on this, the third largest sand island in the world, renowned for its great fishing. Then there's the Desert, up behind the Resort where sand-tobogganing promises thrills and spills.
Your children can wander down to the Resort for an ice-cream, a swim in the pools, or take part in the Resort's children's activities. And, as we said earlier, when you don't feel like cooking there are always the restaurants, bar and coffee shop/cafe there as well.
The beach here is private, quiet and children-friendly, and has superbly clear pristine waters. In the evening you can wander with your children down to the jetty and watch National Parks & Wildlife officers hand-feed the dolphins.
During the whale migration season why not take a whale watch tour on the Resort's whale watch tour? Or take one of the Resort's daily Eco Cruises and see dolphins, dugongs and sea turtles. You can also go for a paddle in one of the glass-bottomed canoes, fabulous for seeing the world under the sea.
Boat tours not your thing? You can take your 4X4 to the north end of the island to sit on the headland below the light-house and watch the pods of whales travelling north or south, or see dolphins or sharks swimming below you, and the many turtles which are usually swimming there.
Whether you want a quiet weekend, to go fishing, or have a fun-filled, activity-filled week, you will find it at Tangalooma and Moreton Island.
And in Coign 5, you will be able to do it in luxurious comfort.
Prices advertised do include linen & towels, but please remember to bring your own beach towels.

Amazing views, lovely house. Perfect weather and so many whales.

Amazing stay overall. Only negative would be the noise from the quad bikes that drive by frequently. Otherwise an excellent house right on the beach with beautiful sunsets. The place was huge, clean and perfect for a large group. We had 2 toddlers with us and we felt it was very safe. Would recommend.

The house was very comfortable & in a great location across the road from the beach. We were a group of six, 3 couples so each had their own bathroom which was nice. Would definitely recommend.

Perfect location next to the beach and a short walk to Tangalooma Resort. Easy check in process and house exactly as advertised. Was great for our group of 3 families with young kids staying together. Plenty of room for all of us. Everything we could need to self cater.

We had a wonderful stay at this house. We arrived by my friends private boat and had to arrange a mooring before arriving, which was easy to do. The property owners gave us great information about the check-in process and it was easy to access once we arrived. The location of the house is fantastic. Right on the beach front with stunning views. The sunsets are incredible. Bathrooms and kitchen weren't very clean, but we notified the owners about this and they were grateful for the feedback and mentioned they'd be in touch with their cleaner to make improvements. The dolphin feeding was probably the highlight of our trip. You cannot book the feeding unless staying at the resort, but we were able to see the dolphins from the pier, which was a great experience. Kookaburras came to visit us each day on the balcony, which my kids loved. We saw turtles swimming and whales offshore. This place really gave us the best that Australia can offer. Highly recommend

This beautiful property has lots of room, lovely comfortable furniture and beds, a fabulous kitchen to cook and prepare meals in and huge balconys to sit back and enjoy the best sunsets! We stayed with 3 year olds and a baby and the baby gate on the stairs helped contain the crazy kids when we needed it. Walking downstairs and across the grass to the sandy calm clean beach was perfect for our family. Thanks for a wonderfuly stay!

We couldn't have wished for a better house and location for our holiday! It was everything we wanted- very comfortable for two families to coexist.
