This beautiful home was perfect for our large group of 14. It was clean, spacious, well equipped with all kitchen items you need to cook your own meals, large driveway for SUVs, plus multiple areas to spread out. We walked to Snow Summit to snowboard. Close 5 minute drive to grocery stores, dining options. 10 minute drive to Bear Mountain. The pool table and hot tub were an added bonus. We hope to return. Kim, the property manager was quick to respond and very helpful. We hope to come back!

We have been coming from PHX to Big Bear for 5 years for skiing. We started at the Holiday Inn for 3 years and then we rented a condo last year.We decided to invite a few other couples and get a house. We looked at no less than 25 on VRBO and other sites as well.We came across this amazing looking house and knew it was the one.We booked it in August for a January vacation.Communication was amazing with the .As our vacation approached the owners reached out and gave us the name of the property manager that would meet us to gain access.Meet Kim, the coolest host in the world. She was on time and very communicative. Also so thorough when we arrived. She was very familiar with the property and all of the “workings” of the systems.Let me be the first to say, this house was 100% accurate in all pictures and advertisements.I was just as big as the pictures showed, no wide angle lens to embellish. The house was spotless and VERY well equipped. The kitchen was stocked with all of the utensils, plates, coffee machines and such that anyone could need.No expense was spared and it shows.Kim let us know that if there was any questions at any time to call or text her right away. From the fire places to the hot tub, from the gear room at the front door to the bar.It was appointed so well. Its right around the corner from the ticket booth. The house has everything you need. The beds were comfy. There were tons of towels. Super clean.See you next year!!!!

We loved everything about this house from the super easy and friendly check in process with Kim to the convenient location to the slopes. There was enough room for our family of 14 to sleep, play, and hang out. Extra touches likes games for all ages, plush bath towels, and handy flashlight nightlights make this house amazing. Just rent it, you will not regret it!

Second time renting this property which is great for a large family- there are two separate houses, so teens can be in a separate area without being too far away. House is literally down the block from Snow Summit, which was super convenient for lunch and rest breaks. There is ample space, comfortable beds, and well maintained furniture. Keyless entry, great backyard.
We were able to have a wonderful stay to celebrate my son's bday.
Great communication with host and property manager. There were a few snags that they addressed once we were gone: (kitchen sink in main house with very slow flow (replaced after our stay, but was a hassle as we had to bring pots/dishes to the other house to wash), slow drain, not enough silverware or towels for 16 people (she bought some new silverware), cleaning crew left some food crumbs in fridge, damp towels that smelled like bleach...little things but when the price is high, you also have higher standards- again, property manager told me these were all fixed once we were gone. It is a pricey place but you pay for the space and convenience of being right there for Snow Summit. Would rent again for big families. Thanks!

We were a group of 3 adult couples and 6 teens. The kids could easily get to the mountain while adults were at the house with no worries. Location is so amazing. A slightly late check in but understood as there was a group checking out before us. We would rent this place again.

Needs a Professional Manager
This property is really great and in an amazing location. However, the experience interacting with the owner and manager was disappointing. We booked this home and indicated we had pets with us and paid a pet fee while booking. The owner never responded to my initial booking message and we had no interaction until 2 days prior to the stay when I reached out asking for check in details which we had not yet received. We met a local person at the home to check us in. We were not asked to inspect anything in the property and were given the wrong information regarding neighborhood rules apparently, as well as check out.
Upon check out it was discovered that our dog had scratched and damaged the doors and blinds in the room where some people were sleeping. The host messaged me frantically regarding this and asked me to call him immediately. I called him back and he let me know about the damages and I asked for photos. He proceeded to send the photos to me, then immediately charged my card a random amount within an hour of check out. I let him know that of course we would pay for this, but we needed to receive an actual invoice of charges. He told me that he had to charge me right away, which is not true for VRBO policy, and then ended up hanging up on me during the call. During this call he stated that pets are not allowed at his home, which is not true based on the listing when we booked and the information given to us, and accused us of damaging his pool table which was in that condition when we arrived. We also were told we were supposed to check out with his property manager directly, but that was never communicated to us at check in, nor was it on the check out instructions which are printed and posted on the fridge. After the call, the host then proceeded to text me that we were unbelievable and disrespectful. We still have not received any invoices or follow up from the host regarding this.
We are a group of adults and were in no way trying to damage anything in the home. The damage was from a pet and we will certainly take responsibility for this. However, the interaction and emotion coming from this host is not productive and we'd recommend he either hire professional management or stop renting out his home if he's so emotionally connected to it. If you're going to rent this home, please be aware that this host is not easy to interact with and communication is very poor across the board.

Perfect location, very spacious luxury property
If you're planning for a Big Bear trip with the convenience of Snow Summit steps away, this is your place. This property has everything we needed for our family. It was so close to Snow Summit- could walk back and forth easily, saving a lot of time and hassle with parking/long distance. Property was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Backyard was fantastic- huge and spacious for kids to run around. If there was snow, it would have been a great backyard for play, although it is not completely fenced in.
It is pricey, but you can fit many people comfortably. House is broken up in several living areas, so you can be spread out and not feel crammed. Definitely recommend!

Amazing
We absolutely loved staying at base camp. By far the best place we have stayed in Big Bear.
It was so comfortable and there was plenty of room for the amount of people we had. Was a perfect house for entertaining. And so close to the mountain!
It had everything we needed. The back room with pool table and entertainment area was a highlight for us. We spent each night there. Perfect spot for after long day of skiing.
The overall feel of the place is what we loved the most. Everyone felt at home. We highly recommend to anyone looking for a place for the family or a weekend away with friends. We will definitely be going back.

Basecamp! Happy Place for All!
This is the second time we have stayed at Basecamp for our annual Surf to Snow trip (try it sometime -- surf in the morning, snowboard in the afternoon). The house is cozy, well-decorated, fully stocked, roomy, great for families, easy in and out, and ESPECIALLY, a block away from the base of Snow Summit. Hello, lunch at the house! Hello, hot tub break!
This trip we comfortably packed in 13 people (including five teens). It never felt crowded. The kids loved the pool table and there were some highly-competitive adult ping pong matches. Parking is easy. The main house also has the best-designed mud room/entry that I've ever seen in a ski house. Hooks galore! Board racks! Ski racks!
We will be back! Thanks Bruce and Basecamp!

Luxurious and Stylish Mountain Cabin
Basecamp is a wonderful house! Everybody's first reaction when walking in was WOW, There's enough room for everybody! There's two living room areas and a game room area in Camp 2. Tons of seating on patio deck areas for people to relax.
I appreciate how well decorated the place was. They used linens, curtains, mattresses, sofas and so forth with exquisite qualities up to their own living standards. I have to mention that, because some rental properties would put their old furniture they are not using, and old linens since it's a "rental property". But this place won't disappoint and exceeded everyone's expectations.
The property was within a very short walk to Summit Mountain which we were grateful for. The last time we were in Big Bear especially during snow season it took us over an hour to find and actually get to the mountain to start our day. We even walked back to the house for lunch.
We had our parents who are grandparents with us as well and they too love the house and wished we would have rented it longer. So they are spoiled now and this place would be hard to beat. It would be hard to find another place better than this for next year for our yearly family retreat.

Amazing house and great owner.
This house was perfect. There are multiple places to spread out which is huge for families traveling with kids. The layout is the best I’ve seen among all the houses I’ve rented up at bear. It is a very short walk to the base of snow summit. The driveway has plenty of parking. Exceeded all of our expectations. This is definitely our new go to house in big bear. The owner was great and communication was excellent. Thanks Bruce!!! Hope to be back soon.
