We had a fabulous stay. I didn't look well at pics and found out the hard way it wasn't handicap accessible. But its all good, we had a time we'll never forget. The memories will last a lifetime. Thank you for making possible for us to have a great time.

This is a great lake house if you want lake views, but don't want to access the lake. The property is beautiful, the house is large enough and relaxing and the neighborhood is quiet. The host was quick to respond and very friendly.
What I suggest for a potential renters: read the reviews (I did not) and didn't realize there was no direct access to the lake from the property. I also think given the number of complaints about this, the property description should state as such.
It's a good 40 minutes to Mammoth Caves, not 17 as mentioned in the description. If you're going to the caves, be sure to plan accordingly.
It was clean to the eye, but we did notice some minor issues (dead, dried bugs in the bathrooms, small stains on the towels and pillow shams, etc.) that could've been cleaned properly and made for a nicer stay.
As long as you manage your expectations, you'll enjoy your stay.

The cottage worked out great for our annual National Park vacation. This year we visited Mammoth Cave, and the cottage location was located about 30/45 minutes away and worked out precfectly for our needs - a comfortable place to sleep and relax after a day of cave tours (which are all awesome) and enjoy a nightcap on the deck overlooking the lake. One thing, if you plan on doing any cooking or grilling you will need to bring all the supplies, including condiments and seasoning, other then that, I would recommend the Lake House to anyone wishing staying the area. We enjoyed are stay and if we ever return to the area, we would stay here again.
Thanks for sharing your cottage with our family.

Our family enjoyed our stay. Rooms are nice and each has a bathroom. Large family room.

Over-all happy with our stay. My only complaint is I don’t think the listing was very clear that it didn’t have lake access. But it was clean, comfortable, had nice bedrooms, bathrooms and a beautiful deck, yard & fire pit. Recommend for those who don’t prefer lake access.

The 3 bedrooms and 3 baths were awesome! The kitchen was large as was the living room/dining room combo! It was a great experience overall!
Some reviews said 20 minutes to Mammoth Cave entrance, but that is just to one of the park’s entry points. The visitor’s center and cave tours are about an hour away. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get there.
Great family weekend! I definitely recommend this place!

I’ve never booked a VRBO but decided to try it to book a fun weekend lake getaway with my husband and two teenagers. It was nice that we each had our own bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen and living room space was adequate.
Unfortunately, we all had stiff backs from the uncomfortable mattresses, which is why there is no place like home. :)
What was most disappointing was seeing that the next door neighbors had direct access to the lake with their own private dock but this property has not done the same. Building a dock to swim and fish off of is needed.

Enjoyed our stay. Would recommend.

My husband and I with our friends and their 4 year-old son really enjoyed staying at this house! It was very comfortable and well stocked with amenities. The deck on the back of the house has been enlarged since the pictures were taken and looks twice as big - and the fire pit is quite large and we used it both nights (and made s'mores). We visited Mammoth Cave which was an easy drive from this house.

The house was great wish we had access to the lake for fishing. One thing I noticed is there was no grocery stores within a 30min. Drive so u have to stock up on what u need before u go

My husband and I, with our 5 and 7 year old enjoyed our stay. The living room was a highlight of the place, with its long back wall, lined with large windows, overlooking lake Nolan. The place is clean and well maintained with enough space for each family never to have their secluded down times and private bathrooms. Kids loved the small amenities of extra books and games.
Will likely revisit and recommend to friends.
Thanks for everything!

Overall, it was a fun space to stay. Views overlooking the lake were great. The set up was nice. The surrounding area wasn’t stellar but it was fine and felt safe. My family enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Great place to stay to visit mammoth cave hike or kayak. Loved that each bedroom had a bathroom. Loved that there was a high chair and a pac n play, especially since ours somehow was left at home.

Nice home, plenty of room. Great advice for driving to mammoth cave!

The layout and cleanliness of the house was great. The firepit area was really nice as well. You could see the lake through the trees but it was limited. There was also no way to actually access the water but for our trip it met our needs!

Great view, no access to water though.

Easy check-in process, clean property, 3 full bedrooms and 3 full baths really helped! Everything we needed for a quick few days at Mammoth Caves. Would stay at again, loved the view of the lake and walking around the dam a few miles away.

Great place. It is rural so plan accordingly for groceries. Needs an update and some extra cleaning. It fit our needs and the host is super nice. Not many places where you can find 3 beds/baths at a good rate for families.

Overall, our stay was great! A full bathroom for each bedroom was excellent! The yard has a steep drop off to the lake, there was dock access from a trail off the road, but steps were very steep! Not ideal for an adventurous toddler! Older kids were able to navigate, but you are unable to see the dock from the yard, so had to be with them.

We came to visit Mammoth Cave National Park, and this VRBO was only about 20 minutes away! Great location with the lake in the background. No lake access, but still pretty. Definitely in a remote area with no access to stores nearby. We packed everything we would need for meals/kitchen, so it worked out. This was a great place!

Mammoth caves
The house was great the space was perfect. The only disadvantage was how rural, but to visit mammoth cave and be close to that we kind of expected to be very rural. Getting groceries was an issue nothing really close by that would have everything you would need to prepare a meal

Our stay
You share the dock with the neighbors and they were very nice. We had a good time. Everything you need is there and it was clean! I recommend it.

It was an easy experience to rent this property.

Great stay
This property was great, had everything needed and would absolutely recommend. The host was super responsive to questions I had before going.
If there was anything I would recommend it would be to have handsoap.
5 stars all the way around

Comfortable house, great view
Weather was a bit cool, so we spent most of our 3 days there sitting and chatting in front of a great view of Lake Nolin. Remember, this is lakeview, not lakefront, property. Bedrooms were very comfortable and kitchen was well supplied. Host was very helpful with directions. We would rent again if we're in the area.

Wonderful view of the lake
We booked the cabin for a long weekend exploring mammoth cave. Park was about 45 minutes away, which we knew before booking, we wanted a calm location away from the tourist traps. We packed in all our food for meals having read in other reviews that the location was pretty isolated. Kitchen left a little to be desired, but we managed. House is odd and dated, but not in a bad way, worked perfect for our weekend. Only thing we really wish we had had was hand soap, none in any of the 3 bathrooms. View of lake made up for any minor inconvenience!

Great location.
Great communication with owner. Being the beginning of spring, was very nice for owner to leave wood bundles for us to use. Loved having 3 bathrooms. Plenty of towels and linens. Very nice kitchen and large frig for our groceries. Loved sitting out side and watching the boat traffic on the river.

Relaxing lake house
We had a nice family time while exploring the surrounding mammoth caves and trails! Very thankful for the quiet and peacefulness of this home. Beds were comfy, kitchen had everything we needed, grill was perfect as well as fire pit! Just a great place for a family to relax and enjoy each other’s company!

Relaxing trip
We really enjoyed our trip! The house was exactly as advertised and pictured. All the necessities were provided. The outdoor setting was perfect-- quiet lakefront, trees, fireplace, grill and plenty of seating.
We spent several days at Mammoth Cave State Park which was really great. Took cave tours and hiked some trails. Take the Green River Ferry route when driving there from the house, it is much quicker than following Google directions.
Those staying should be advised that the area is very rural. There are very few restaurants close by and most were closed in March. The closest grocery store we found was half hour away and they didn't sell beer--had to go to Cave City which was almost an hour.
Thanks for everything!

Lake House Family Holiday Get Together
My family and I were very pleased with this property. We enjoyed the gas fireplace and a wonderful view from the living room of the lake. We were surprised at how spacious the kitchen, living room and three bedrooms were and loved that each bedroom had its on bathroom. It was cold and rainy for most of our visit, but the living space with the gas fireplace and furnishings made it very comfortable and pleasant to stay indoors and my 3 year old granddaughter had plenty of room to let her energy out. My son had brought some board games, so along with the nice tv and good internet and lots of conversations, the adults had a good time, too.
I would recommend arriving before dark as the last half hour drive has lots of hilly curves, however the owner sent us good directions for getting to the house once we were near the lake. The neighborhood was quiet and we felt safe when we took a long walk. I would readily book this place again and hope to have an occasion to do so.

Overall it was good. I loved the peace and quietness.
Overall it was good. I would stay again. But the property amenities list said there was internet. We could connect to WiFi but not the internet. There were some light bulbs out in various bedrooms and at the entry door. I sent a “just to let you know” message to host through VRBO and didn’t get an acknowledgment. I didn’t call or text the host directly because our stay was so short. Hopefully those will be replaced before the next renters stay. It was hard reading the house number getting into the house when we got there after dark because the porch lights were out. But, with that being said, I did love the fire pit out back. The area was peaceful and quiet enough to hear the leaves raining down from the trees while outside. The fall colors of the trees reflecting of the still water was beautiful!

Beautiful, peaceful spot
This was a quiet, lovely spot, located near Mammoth Cave and some great hiking trails. The set-up of the home itself is conducive to privacy for multiple travelers, and the fire pit and fireplace are nice additions.

Lake and Cave
Nice property for a short visit to Nolin Lake and Mammoth Cave. We really enjoyed the fire pit and walking down to the water to fish. Also, great views from the living room of the lake. Convenient location, close to Mammoth Cave.

Beautiful clean cabin
The cabin was very clean and roomy, had everything we needed fans for bedrooms ashtrays for outside anything you needed was there. Liked we got to fish off the docks. Would have loved a earlier check in. The next door neighbors that came while we was there was very loud. That’s basically the only thing was annoying. But enjoyable

House was nice
The house what's perfect. The only downside was there was no direct access to the lake. Trees and weeds were overgrown so it was hard to even see the lake. You have to go two houses down to get access to the dock which makes it feel like you were trespassing on someone else's property to get to the lake. No ladder to get in and out of the water. So for an older person it would be hard to drag themselves up onto the dock. It is like front if you can see it through the trees. Otherwise this stay was fine

We were looking for a lake-side location for a family vacation with a view of and access to the lake. This rental was clean, had everything we needed for our stay, and met our requirements for the lake. We had no trouble with the internet (worked remotely a few mornings). There was a doe and two fawns that visited several mornings, and two otters visited us at the dock one day - really cool! We had a wonderful time and will return.Just note that you will need to bring your own water accessories/toys. There were some games/activities, but you will probably also want to bring something for rainy days if you don't go caving!
