The hotel provides the shuttle for us to the winter lantern festival. The staffs in the hotel are friendly and thoughtful. Thank you for great service and the shuttle. We had a great stay here.

We decided to stay here for the night to have enough time to enjoy the village of Kayabuki no Sato. This ryokan turned out to be almost the only hotel in the area, so the choice fell on it. The weather made our trip a very special one - an abnormal snowstorm hit Japan at the end of January, many areas were buried with thick snow, even the highways. The staff was polite, especially that kind and smiling lady who served the dinner and breakfast for us. The food was very Japanese, unusual, but tasty. The room was good but it seems that the interior is a bit old, stains on the doors and futons, I didn't feel cosy. But the view of the river and hills from the window is stunning! We were sleeping already when a little "cataclysm" happened - trees fell on the roads somewhere and broke the power cables, so electricity turned off after midnight till we left at 10 am, the water stopped in the bathroom and even our portable wi-fi died. The room got cold quite fast, we slept in sweaters, it’s good that we managed to take a bath in the evening. In the morning they brought us a kerosine heater and a flashlight and we felt much better (and warmer!). They even managed to cook a hot breakfast, although we didn’t even hope for it. My story sounds a bit scary, but in fact it was a very interesting, once in a lifetime unique experience. I will never forget this tangible silence, the murmur of the river and the trees covered with fluffy snow! A real journey to the past. The hosts cleaned our car from snow in the morning, they were very worried about how we should go further, showed blocked roads on the map, wished us good luck. But everything was fine, we had a fantastic walk in the village and arrived safely in Kyoto. Thank you very much for your hospitality!!

We loved the food! We loved the kindness of the owner! They put a lot of effort into making our stay comfortable. For example, when they saw that our 9-months old baby eats dinner with us, they made dishes just for him. They didn't seem to mind the mess that was left after a 9-month old eats by himself... Our son liked people in the ryokan, smiling at them a lot.
The onzen was very nice! The Wifi connection was very good too.
Our room was very big, which was comfortable when staying with a baby.

The beautiful scenery around this ryokan (Japanese Inn) and Miyama Kayabuki-no-Sato. Also the service was attentive and meticulous. We enjoy our stay here very much.
Nope. Nothing to dislike.

Pick up, drop off at Kayabuki no Sato. Chef/driver v kind and thoughtful man. Always smiling. Food was excellent. English staff available.
Ryokan is a little bit far from town but they were happy to pick up and drop off. Bath was small. Cooking smell in the room.

Great food, was a great help for vegetarian meals, lovely clean, modern, simple style of Ryokan, near a stream. We stayed as the last stop before flight from Osaka only about 1hr away. Great way to finish our trip. Onsen was outdoors would be great in winter.
Just be aware when not a weekend there is not many choices to eat at night.
