Our stay was super relaxing in our little cottage by the river.
Everything we needed to be comfortable was provided but taking groceries is essential. The cabin was very cosy and the views were stunning.
Thanks to Andy for leaving us with lots of chopped wood to keep warm and have a lovely wood fire in the evenings.
Not having any mobile access was a blessing so we could switch off and enjoy our surroundings.

A very well maintained and comfortable property overlooking the Howqua River.
We stayed two nights in December, whilst my partner went horse riding I fished the Howqua upstream from the cabin. I caught and released some nice rainbow and brown trout. Below the cabin in the evenings we saw a platypus.
The cabin itself is comfortable, clean, and contains all the amenities that one would need. Well located between Mansfield and Jamieson, it is the ideal place to relax and explore. The host Andy is a top bloke and an experienced flyfisherman who provides guiding services.
A highly recommended property to book and enjoy.

Beautiful spot on the river- river views from bed were stunning! Large deck was the perfect spot to enjoy a beer after a good day’s fly fishing with Andy. Feeding his pet trout in the swimming hole was even more fun! Would love to go back.

Great spot and certainly one of the better rentals. Andy was a great host and Fly fishing coach; when in season. Our Assistance pup loved it and made a new friend, ‘Roughy’, Andy’s dog.
Big Wallaroo’s come down of an evening so put your dog inside.

A very warm and welcoming house. The sound of the rippling waters was wonderful to sit and listen and watch. Also being able to walk and catch a trout! The house was clean and well presented, everything you want for a comfortable stay and we were very cosy. The bed was very comfortable with quality linen. Our two labs loved the river and the property as well and we hope to come back again.

We had such an amazing weekend. The property is just beautiful and the dogs had the best time. It isn’t fenced, but the yard is soo big, they always stayed within sight. Beds were comfy and the electric blankets were a nice touch. Place was nicely furnished, although spending most of the time on the deck. Can’t wait to go back.

Well-appointed accommodation with a stunning riverfront view. Friendly hosts (including Ruffy the dog who seems to know when it is breakfast time on the deck!). Huge deck with ample comfy seating opening onto the majestic river, gums and wildlife the highlight.

Relaxing River Downs.
Amazing scenary, great hospitality, serenity and reflection with only the sounds of a trickling stream and wildlife. Beautiful backdrops in all directions. Very fortunate to stay in such a perfect spot. The hens eggs were beautiful too and a nice sweetener. Feeding the trout was cool too.

A great place to relax and chill out
The moment we arrived the dogs were in the river. Everything you need is there. Spent time 4WD around Howqua which was awesome. At night you can lay on the deck and look up at the stars - it was awesome.

Magical Location
We spent four nights in this magical location, right on the river. No sound but for the myriad of birds (ducks, kookaburras, rosellas, lorikeets, magpies and yellow-crested cockatoos). Such a peaceful place to unwind. We hope to be back again.

Gorgeous spot for a long weekend
Such a picturesque location & so relaxing to sit on the deck & listen to the river run right past the front door. The house was toasty warm for the cold June weather & the beds were oh so comfy. We will be back again for sure!
