What a fantastic week we had, exploring Brinnon and surrounding area. This is a must do for anyone exploring The Olympic Peninsula. VRBO property much more than we anticipated, a wonderful place, to hang out, enough room for our family. The view was beautiful! The view from the Master bedroom breath-taking. A big shout out to our hosts Mary and Tom for their attention to detail in creating an environment that is warm and welcoming. Roy and Denise

A wonderful opportunity to stay put and watch the tides and wildlife change in front of you
The house is wonderful with all the details I love when away from home.
The host was easy to reach, responding quickly to messages when needed.
The area offers a multitude of recreational activities if you can tear yourself away from the deck

Rare Gem on the Hood Canal has a spectacular view of the water from the house and from the expansive deck. The deck is in need of some loving attention, but it is welcoming with umbrellas and comfy chairs. The kitchen is well appointed. Beds are very comfortable. The kayaking is splendid, and swimming at nearby river a treat. Owners are warm and helpful in all communications.

The house was just what we needed. For older people however, the stairs might be a drawback. Great location.

We were really disappointed for the cost. The tile floors are absolutely filthy, it’s nearly impossible to get down to the beach especially with little kids, and there’s nothing to do in the area. We went home a day early.

The perfect place to recharge. Beautiful view, stunning home and kind hosts.

The house is wonderful. Very spacious, filled with light, comfortable beds, and a large deck with a view of the mouth of the Dosewallips River. Without leaving the deck I watched a huge run of pink salmon approach the mouth of he river, only to be intercepted by over 60 seals, several bald eagles, and even a coyote. The changing landscape from low to high tide brought different creatures and their interactions, including elk, vultures and kingfishers. It was mesmerizing. A short walk to the riverbank offered a chance to see the salmon fight their way up the rapids. Having such a comfortable high -class residence with Nature in such close proximity was my idea of bliss.

My family enjoyed our stay here and took full advantage of the kayaks and proximity to the water. When the tide is out, we were able to explore as the beach area wasn’t gross and oystery like other places we’ve stayed; just a bit muddy/mucky in places. This is a huge plus with children!
House was a described. Clean and has a/c which was a relief in the 90 degree heat. Owner was very responsive.

Puget Sound Getaway
Great property for a Puget Sound getaway! The property has beautiful peaceful views, a great deck, roomy kitchen, nice yard, nice water access, and is close to hiking and other beautiful Puget Sound locations. One day we paddled in front of the house and saw numerous wildlife - seals, otter, eagles, deer. We saw a heard of Elk at the state park across the road. One day we drove 45 minutes to Cushman lake to paddle. One day we went to Lake Crescent. We had a great time!

Great time in Brinnon
The house was very large and accommodations were perfect for our family of four. We made good use of the games, water access and Kayaks that were included with the rental.
Some of our day trips were a long drive from the house but I always looked forward to getting back there and spending more time on the deck taking in the amazing views of the canal and Mount Rainer in the distance.
Communication with Tom and Mary was very easy. I only needed them once at the start and from there it was smooth relaxing vacation.

Enchanting garden & house
First off- communication with Tom was prompt and courteous! This home is a must visit for your vacation. Master bedroom/on-suite was very large and comfortable. View out to the water amazing from bed! We found the mattress and linen extremely comfortable!!! The gardens at this home are absolutely enchanting! I didn’t get tired of looking at them. Large deck, with (2) additional decks below. I would often sit at the middle deck with my binoculars in hand. So much wildlife to enjoy. Eagles, heron, kingfisher, otters, seals & a raccoon that would visit Tom & Mary’s strawberries daily (so cute)! Visited Mt. Walker viewpoint - definitely worth the trip - amazing views and encountered so many friendly people that we visited with! We spent most of our time on the deck relaxing and enjoying the scenery. Would definitely visit this home again and recommend to friends. Thank you again Tom & Mary for sharing your lovely property with us!!

Fantastic spot!
Weather didn't cooperate but that did not detract from the view this space offered from the inside. The home itself was roomy enough for the kids to do their thing while the wife and I relaxed. Hopefully our next visit greets us with sunshine so we can spend all the time outside on the magnificent deck!

Amazing view
The house has an amazing view. Good location near close to trails and views in Olympic state park. We hiked, had dinner at local restaurants recommended by host-Geoducks and Hama Hama oyster saloon. Kayaking with provided kayaks was fun. Beds were clean and comfortable.

Beautiful location and comfortable home
Amazing views from every part of the home!
Comfortable beds and seating throughout the house. The sun room is an extra bonus to sit in after being out in the cold. The deck was perfect, we saw seals, so many birds and raccoons at the shore. Low tide was great to walk in the beach to explore. A short drive away is a great hike , steam donkey trail, the hike views were gorgeous. Wr had lunch at the geoduck lounge and drive to the unique Hama Hama seafood spot. Great communication from host at checking and checkout to guide on steps to access and leave home. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Wonderful stay with great views…even when foggy. Got to eat at the Geoduck Lounge one day and made it down to Hama Hama for some great oysters another. I’ll be back in the summer!

Beautiful views on this Hood Canal retreat
Our family spent 3 nights here in December, and though we couldn't enjoy the huge deck as well as summer visitors, we appreciated the great views of the water that are visible from most of the house. Saw seals and bald eagles during our stay. Hama Hama oysters are only a 15 minute drive away and well worth the quick trip. Beds were comfortable, and the kitchen extremely well stocked, including both a rice cooker and an electric kettle.

Wonderful waterfront home in Brinnon
My two girlfriends and I had a wonderful 2 night stay and would stay again. The house was clean, linens were nice, and had all the kitchen items we needed to cook up some good food. We played the games provided, which was great, but don't put together the butterfly puzzle. It is missing some pieces. We did put a note in it for future guests. The view is so beautiful and serene. We wanted to kayak but weather wasn't that great for us, so we just watched tv, movies, and played games. I can see how wonderful the deck area would be in good weather. The Geoduck is walking distance if you want to go out for drinks or food. Tom was very helpful during our stay. We lost power and a needed a few more logs for warmth on our first night. Tom came to our rescue. Fantastic home away from home!

Spectacular Views
For our stay, we also rented the cottage. This was perfect since we had additional married family members. We could all eat, enjoy the deck, the views, etc., but allowed for privacy. The multiple decks at different levels made for fantastic views, but also seemed like more room. We really enjoyed the fire pit at night while we listened to the seals serenading us. We saw all kinds of birds and yes, the elk came out as well. Make sure you bring your camera, the opportunities are boundless. We also hiked at Dosewallips State Park, which was within walking distance from the property. Beautiful stay, highly recommend it.

Great beach house!
This is a wonderful house for enjoying Hood Canal. The views plus seeing so much wildlife makes it a special spot. We enjoyed the deck most of all, it’s very large and has a great eating area and barbecue. It also has nice chairs to lounge in and a lovely sitting area around the fire pit, we enjoyed this in the evening. We also were so thankful for all the umbrellas on the deck, it was very sunny and warm and it was nice to have that shade. There were 5 of us staying so we also rented the extra studio apartment, it was so nice having a separate space to retreat. We were not troubled by the traffic noise from 101 at the main house or studio, not an issue. Communication with the owner was easy and responded to quickly. The whole family enjoyed our stay here very much.

Amazing location
Amazing wildlife and views from the deck. The house and studio combination was great for my family of four plus an additional couple. Beware that there are not many curtains on the windows and the upstairs bedroom in the main house is in an open loft so if you like to sleep in, bring an eye mask and earplugs!

Beautiful views of the water and wild life from the large and comfortable deck. Great space for our getaway. Good stock of games and cooking essentials. Walking distance to a local restaurant. Nearby waterfall and mountain hikes. Overall we were happy with our stay.

Wonderful Stay..
As everyone mentioned the view was incredible. The water was clear and calm for kayaking except the curious seals that kept us entertained! House was well stocked but would like to see a good set of knives.. :} Tom, I helped myself to a couple of fresh apples. Thanks for the great stay!

Wildlife galore
We had a wonderful stay. The view from the deck is amazing and watching the sunrise was phenomenal. The host provided binoculars and we got plenty of use out of them watching the seals go in and out after laying on the beach, watching the otters playing in the water, watching all the people go out to pick oysters and clams when the tide went out, and finally our last day we saw the local elk herd make their way out to the tidelands to enjoy the seaweed grass. There is a wonderful flower garden which is buzzing with honey bees and all sorts of birds. The humming birds came several times a day to feed on the flowers which was fun to watch. This place is well situated with many activities nearby. I highly recommend driving up to Mt Walker if the weather is clear. It has amazing views. Also recommend driving over to Sequim to check out the lavender farms. The hosts checked in with us several times to make sure everything was going well and were responsive with any issues we had. We are hoping to plan a future stay.

Perfect family place
We had a great time. Kayaks were so much fun to have. Well stocked kitchen. We used the mother in law cottage for teens. They loved having their own space. Communication with Tom, the owner, was easy and he responded quickly. We’ll definitely be back

Beautiful view!
We had a wonderful time! The views were gorgeous!
The house was very clean, had everything we could need for our stay. We loved the all the windows giving the best water view you could ask for. The big deck was great for relaxing with a glass of wine.
The grounds are landscaped with beautiful blooming flowers. If you can, try a visit to the local nursery for some shopping as recommended by the owners. The owners were very helpful and communication was great with them.
We saw the otters, elk and a local raccoon. The kayaks that were there for our use were an added bonus.
We are looking forward staying again.

Glorious view!
Wonderful spot for our family reunion. Stunning outlook with bald eagles, common mergansers, terns, gulls, harbor seals, sunrise, moonrise - exquisite!! Enjoyed evenings on the lovely large deck with fire pit. Well equipped kitchen. Walking distance to the Geoduck Restaurant. Right off 101 but road noise not oppressive.

Incredible views!
Wonderful stay! The views were incredible - the living room/dining area, sunroom and master bedroom are east facing huge windows so we could enjoy the views all day! Lovely long table in dining area- can complete puzzles. Great open floor plan. Very comfy beds! We loved sitting around the fire pit at night and relaxing. The owner, Tom, was very approachable - We couldn’t figure out how to get the fire pit working our first night abd he walked us through it- success! Highly recommend.

Stunning view! Great host!
We had a fantastic time at Tom and Mary's place. We had four adults and one teenager in our group and we all felt very comfortable. The kitchen has plenty of dishes, pots, pans and appliances. Huge dining table was perfect for games. Wood burning fireplace kept us cozy as we sat and looked out at the gorgeous view. The beds and linens were wonderful. Tom was responsive and helpful and we were so happy to get a good day of weather for kayaking right off the landing of their deck. We would very much like to come back and enjoy the deck more in the spring or summer.

House is better than the photos. We LOVED our stay here.
Was a little concerned to rent this house in the winter. As it turned out, it was mostly rainy but the house was the perfect choice. It was warm and spacious and we hunkered down with family and relaxed. Bonuses we found:
-- Several 500-2000 pc puzzles and a solid dining table large enough to use for puzzles on one end and still dine on the other end.
-- Heated floor in the sunroom made it usable in winter.
-- Much larger(and nicer) master bedroom than photos indicate. A prior review expressed a negative comment on its openness. We disagree. The view from there is amazing!
-- dog friendly trails nearby: Murhut Falls(15 min drive south) and across the street in Dosewallips SP: Steam Donkey Loop Tr.
Our tips (winter stay):
-- Bring all your food. The closest "real" grocery store is about 40 min away. Forgot eggs and paper towels. Nearby store sold for $4.99/dz and $2.79/roll. Also bring extra wood for stove. It puts out a lot of heat and is very nice.
-- Bring your own chefs knife. Knives are provided but cooks should always bring your own. Also needed cooking tongs.
-- The location is far from everything. Not as close to Olympic NP as thought. But we found closer alternatives. For us, in winter during covid, it was better to be away from people.
-- We brought our own small 3' christmas tree. Perfect.
Tom, the owner was very friendly, full of information, and very hands on with any questions/help you may need. Our concern for covid cleanliness was matched with his standards. He even opened a few windows just prior to our arrival to "air out" the place. We would definitely stay here again. Hopefully in summer, to take advantage of the very large, beautiful deck, kayaks, and small beach.

Absolutely the best!
This place could not be better for a quiet cozy get away! The house has everything you would need including fun games, kayaks, all the kitchen gadgets, even a crock pot! Right on the water! The wildlife was spectacular and the sun rises from the master bedroom...just wow!
There are tons of nearby hiking trails and state parks. The restaurant that you can WALK to has the best food (take out only because of the COVID)
I sure hope I can stay here again! Best vacation rental EVER!

Outside deck and view are great, but interior has issues
The pictures of the bay don't overstate the view. There were tons of seals and even a family of otter that we saw daily. We enjoyed the kayaks and getting out and floating with seals just 30 feet away! They were 30+ seals out in the bay to snack on the salmon running at the time. The main issue I had was the interior. Maybe it shows up in the pictures, but the master bedroom is a loft open to the family room. There is no windows to open to cool it down so it gets hot and others cannot be in the family room if you want to sleep. That is a problem. Also the shower has a window that looks out on the deck. If you don't want friends and family viewing you naked in the shower, they cannot be on the deck at the same time. It really would be a great place for just a couple since the living room only seats 3 people comfortably.
One thing to note is that unless you bring your Roku with you, you are stuck with minimal channels on the TV from the antenna. So weird! Who doesn't provide a way to stream videos and such??? If you don't see that little note in the reviews you are screwed.
