About this house rental
Sea Lion Crossing - Oregon Beach Vacations
Welcome to Sea Lion Crossing, located in beautiful Pacific City. This rustic oceanfront cottage with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and bonus room can accommodate up to six guests. Located south of Haystack Rock, this home offers direct access to miles of beach from its backyard. Walk up and over the foredune to the ocean. Step inside your home away from home, settle down and relax!
Sea Lion Crossing is a classic example of the 1950s fishing cabins typified by the entrance through the garage that could accommodate a dory. Upon entering through the compact but fully equipped kitchen, the house opens up to an open plan dining and living room area with a complete wall of large windows looking out to the coastal dune and Haystack Rock. Enjoy an espresso or drip cup of your favorite coffee while lounging in front of the wall of windows enjoying the view. Relax in front of the cable equipped flat screen TV or select a DVD from the wide collection of movies. For the more traditional, the cabin is loaded with beach books. There is plenty of seating for everyone in your party to relax. The dining room area, adjacent to the living room, offers enough seating for all of your guests to enjoy a meal together. The kitchen offers a smaller table to enjoy breakfast and plan your day at the coast. The kitchen comes complete with everything you need to whip up a snack or prepare a full holiday meal. You’ll also find a gas BBQ on the property to use outside during those clear summer nights. Sea Lion Crossing also has easily portable lawn chairs for our guests to enjoy the sunset overlooking the beach.
Down the hallway you will find two bedrooms with queen size beds. The bonus room is perfect for the kids with a daybed and trundle bed. The room also has a combined screen and DVD player to entertain the children. The recently renovated main bathroom has a large bathtub and separate shower, along with a washer and dryer. The second/primary bathroom offers a walk in shower and direct entrance to the garage for quick clean up after a day on the beach.
While staying at Pacific City, be sure to check out the famous sand dune at Cape Kiwanda. From a distance this dune may look “easy” but once you start climbing you'll realize it’s a real challenge! Be sure to check out Pacific City’s latest wine bar addition, PC Pour at the Cape and Beach Walk (across the street from the airport) offers a great selection of sandwiches and Asian inspired dishes. Hiking is popular at the variety of state parks at your doorstep such as Bob Straub Park, Cape Lookout and the newest addition, Sitka Sedge just north of town. If you are interested in fishing Haystack Fishing offers daily ocean adventures (weather permitting). If you are looking for shopping, check out the local businesses in both Pacific City and Cloverdale or you can drive down to the Lincoln City Outlets about 20 miles south. Of course, if you are looking for cheese the Tillamook Cheese factory is 20 miles north of town. You are sure to have an amazing stay no matter what you choose to see and do on your next Oregon Beach Vacation. Book your stay at Sea Lion Crossing today!
Beach access is located right out back. Please understand that the dune formation changes with the weather and the access along the entire coast can be steep at times. Public access to the beaches is also available through Bob Straub Park, Cape Kiwanda and at the start of Sunset Drive/Pacific Ave.
The cabin is dog friendly for up to 2 dogs. No other pets are allowed. We ask that you do not leave your dogs unattended at any time in or on the property.
Sleeping Accommodations:
Main Floor -
Bedroom 1 - Queen bed
Bedroom 2 - Queen bed
Bonus Room - Twin Air Mattress
Please note - Parking for guests is on the right hand (north) side of the white dashed line. There is room for one car in the garage and two cars in the driveway. During the offseason garage parking may be unavailable due to the owner storing a vehicle there.

Nice separate room for my grandson

First off you enter the house in the side door of the garage. there is no other door to the place. only windows that open are on the sides of the house. the counters were dirty, with food dried on, and when the sun shined on them it really showed the residue!. the price of the rental was over valued by 50%. and the service fee was 40% of the charge.

We loved the proximity to the beach and the chill town it's located in. The facility was clean and check in was very easy.

Good location with a quiet neighborhood, while we were there. We really enjoyed going down to the beach and loved that we were allowed to bring our dog with us.
Thank you for letting us use your space

Leaky roof, no beach view or access nearby, unless you jump down 10 feet. Cold in middle of house.

Super location to boat launch, park and beach access. Could stand to have more than one kitchen towel (lol) but this didn’t have any effect on our nice stay. Wonderful to have the garage to off load sandy shoes

We tried to cancel four days before going because my Dad was in the hospital. They, unfortunately, would not let us. Still had to pay full price even though we couldn't stay there. :(

The house was very clean and orderly. Beds were comfortable. Bathrooms were very roomy.
Only one openable window on beach side but no screen. House was a fire hazard as there was no front door. There were two exits in the house and both exits made you enter through the garage. Garage was very dark and difficult to find light switch.

House was perfectly situated near river access and beach access. Beautiful wall of windows, loved not looking at buildings. You cannot see the ocean, but it’s right over the hill. Perfect weather the weekend we went made for an excellent weekend.

I had never visited this part of the country and I was leery of booking accommodations online. But I was very pleased. We were in town for a wedding and felt that a house rental was a better option for me and my family members.
The property host seemed to think of everything that we would need. Plenty of throws & blankets towels etc. The property has a nice kitchen and as a tea drinker; the tea pot came in handy :). The property was very open & spacious the wall to wall windows that greeted us as we entered the property, flooded the living space with beautiful light. And I was appreciative of the good quality window coverings for when we wanted privacy. We could have easily accommodated another 4+ family members if needed. Only one issue; please consider using odor neutralizing spray after pet visitors have visited in the future. Previous visitors possibly allowed dog on the furniture. Pet smell was in the air when we arrived. We purchased some febreze at the shop in town and knocked it right out. I plan on a return visit one day. Thank you for an overall great memorable stay on the Oregon coast.

Great town and beach!
The bedrooms were very nice. Third room with trundle bed was totally comfortable room, despite no closet, this is a decent 3rd bedroom for a kid or single adult.
It was odd to stay in a house with only one door.
The view out the windows in the photos shows that you can see the ocean. Perhaps at a time this was true but the dunes now cover every bit of the ocean except for a tiny peek-a-boo view. This was quite disappointing.
The house was very clean.
Would love a throw rug with rubber backing as you leave the garage and enter the house!
1 person in the party has a bad knee and the steep slope down to the beach and back up made the beach inaccessible. Would have been nice to know that the beach access does require a drop down a 20' sand cliff.
Lovely neighbors to the north.

Fun beach house
Had a great time at this house. The entrance through garage is a little funky at first but is great for not tracking sand into the house after taking the short walk out back to the beach. Not the Hilton by any means but it is cozy and has everything you need in the house for your stay

Reviewer Comments:
I would recommend this rental if seeing the beauty of the ocean was not a priority. Unless you stand on a chair you cannot see the ocean at all. So if storm/wave watching is your goal, find another place to stay. The home itself was very nice, clean and comfortable. Really perfect for warmer weather vacationing.

The house was about 100+ from the beach with barely a sliver of a view from the house. You could here the ocean. The very basic of amenities. Bed, sheets, towels, pots, pans, plates, cups, glasses and silverware. They also had salt and pepper with small rolls of paper towels. If you have packed your clothes in a suitcase like most vacationers do, don’t expect an iron or ironing board cause it’s not there. The house was full of spiderwebs, not all new ones. It could use a good cleaning. We also killed a couple of huge daddy long leg spiders, only they had tear shaped bodies. Both were in the master bedroom and attached bath. Also centipedes in the house. You could at least hear the ocean.

Nice beach escape
We couldn't see the ocean from the house, but access to the beach was great, the kitchen was well stocked, and the beds were comfortable. The large garage was great for the dog to dry and de-sand.

Our house was ok. But what we thought would have ocean front views, there was none. The bank comes up to high. You can see part of haystack rock when the fog has lifted. But being that it’s a 1 story home, the bank and grass come up way to high. No views besides sky and tall grass. And the pictures are somewhat deceiving. There is a steep drop down to the beach. It’s climbable but tiresome and inconvenient. Wouldn’t work well for older people. The house was relatively clean but older. Bedrooms don’t have more than 1 outlet in some. Kitchen had plates, bowls, silverware and cups. But hardly any pots or pans. Good house if your beachin’ it. But if your wanting something a little more cleanly, views, modern ect, I’d skip this one.

Great location, easy access to beach
Overall we loved it. Beds are kind of uncomfortable for our taste (too soft), and currently (8/21) house next door is having construction, so that took away from ambiance just a little. Stuffy upon entry but once you open up the windows and get some cross-breeze it was great! We would return to this house.

I'm going to start from the beginning: We were notified by the rental manager that there would be minor construction at the house next door during our stay. I tried returning her call at least 5 times and never connected. I was annoyed but figured we'd just see how it went. It wasn't really an issue in the end.
THIS WAS:
Night 1)While eating Doryland Pizza at the kitchen table our first night, I watch a mouse scurry from under the fridge across to the cupboard area. Gross. GROSS. After dinner, we discovered we were using the "nice plates" when we opened the dishwasher to find a full load of someone else's gross dirty dishes. Noticed second bedroom floor was covered in sand. Not sure the place was vacuumed fully? Or thoroughly cleaned at all recently? This was our first night and I just wanted to love it and give it a chance. Despite THE MOUSE.
Next Day 2) Notice mouse poops in the 2nd bathroom, kitchen, and master bedroom closet area. Gross. I ended up wearing shoes in the house so I didn't have to touch the floor.
Leaving Day 3)The dumpster outside was overloaded with garbage upon our arrival. Had to dump our Doryland Pizza boxes with the friendly neighbor to the north who offered use of his trash bin.
We really loved the property and location- funky, old-school, on the beach. This was our first family stay at the beach, and our first vacation with our dog. So it was just soooo very unfortunate and disappointing to have to deal with it not being clean to a reasonable level. Bummer.

Great Location
Great location, easy beach access. House is dated but fairly clean. Some of the kitchen items were a little dirty but we threw them in the dishwasher and all was good. They provide dishwasher pods and laundry pods. Not enough dishwasher pods are provided to last the whole stay so I’d recommend bringing some if you plan to cook a lot. BBQ grill is great and seems like it’s barely used.

Loved the location as you are right on the beach and can walk to the dunes and tide pools. Construction (concrete cutting) was happening next door several of the days we stayed which was loud and dirty (dusted cars with the stuff). The TV isn’t connected to the internet but there is a small collection of DVDs, best-seller paperbacks and old-timesy games (Careers).

Great location but don't expect the Ritz
Overall a good place to stay if you want something right on the beach. All the amenities are there but don't expect high end anything. The place did have an odd smell to it, not sure what it was but it is an older place on the coast so expect what comes with that.
