Check was easy but the only piece I would say that needs more support is the parking. You have to go down narrow streets and parking is limited. I assume that it has a reserved space but none of this detail was provided. One night there were no spaces and it was difficult to understand if a space should have been available or not.
Great place. If I was being picky I would say the boiler/ hot water should have been checked before we got in as it would have saved time and some discomfort on the 1st morning. They only other issue for me is the low doorways as I kept banging my head on the kitchen/living room frame but no one else had that issue.

Location superb
The house was not clean, mouldy food left from previous customers. Ladder type stairs to top floor. Lots of clutter. Parking outside house very difficult unless it's a very small car.

great location and a good size, fits 8 people
Not very clean, no hot water, no welcome info (wifi details etc) dirty toothbrush holders, some bed linen not changed from previous guests!

I liked it was so close to a local village shops, things to do, pubs, and the beach! Even if I had to drive somewhere it was all a short distance away! Perfect location for my family and friends, we loved it. Didn’t want to leave. The house was clean, tidy, comfortable, everything is there facilities wise all I needed was to provide food and drinks. Will definitely want to come back :)

The cottage was well equipped with all mod cons and there were lots of nice touches such as liquid soap etc which was really helpful as we travelled down by train and couldn't bring all the usual extra stuff. The cottage was very attractively decorated, the beds were very comfortable, there were curtains on all the windows to shut out the light, the showers were clean and functioned really well. We had a very comfortable stay. Carole was very helpful and responded very quickly when I texted her with a question.

Excellent location. Good facilities. Good communication with the Host.
Access to the top floor was a little restricted, as was parking, but we were well warned in advance and they did not cause any issues.

Central location
On arrival it was made quite clear that we would
not be able to park outside by the neighbour who then ensured her own position by occupying the space directly outside the cottage we didn’t expect to park for long we just wanted to unpack the car and then find an alternative, this we managed in the end by purchasing £17 in parking
fee’s at the main Ness car park.
The shower on the top floor had a broken fitting
and this would allow the door to come off its rollers! so we all decided to use the lower shower
which was fine.

This is an ideal seaside village for those going back in time. Serene. Great walks and the boat shuttle across to the nearby village was easy and fun. Parking is a nightmare for everyone in the village... its just the location and tiny, tiny streets. We just enjoyed the layback attitude and serenity.
All bathrooms are upstairs is a bit of a chore. The third floor bedroom and bathroom are scary. A ladder that is not fun for anyone to climb. it is what it is for the amount of space you need in a small house footprint.

Felt like a lovely family home, just perfect to share and enjoy time together in Shaldon

Great location
property was very dated and needed extremely good clean, loads of old and half broken decor and cluttered with not needed items that can easily break. loads and loads of dust

The property was close to the beach and a lovely restaurant. It was comfortable and clean and the kitchen was well equipped.
The parking is quite awkward and getting to the property was a bit of a mission. The quilt was very lightweight and we were quite cold at night. The second double bedroom is in the loft and not easy to get to when you are of a certain age!

We loved the location, in the colourful, quiet (except for the odd gull!) village streets, set just back from the main river/sea side street. The beach, excellent village store, fish and chip shop, 2 lovely cafes and 2 good pubs all a very short walk away. Only a little further to walk (but well worth it) are a 3rd pub with stunning views and the small zoo. Shaldon is a beautiful place and so peaceful thanks to the minimal traffic. The cottage is also very handy for the delightful passenger ferry ride to the neighbouring town of Teignmouth, with all its amenities (lido, shops, mini golf, amusements, restaurants etc).
The cottage is charming and full of character. The furnishings are comfortable and there are interesting features and decor that make it feel like a seaside home from home. Kitchen and bathrooms are modern and excellent. There is a small outdoor seated area out front which is very sunny and overlooks flowers. There is also a first floor deck to the rear which is spacious, light and has plenty of room for outdoor eating and BBQing. The lounge was spacious with 2 good large leather sofas and the beds were comfy.
We loved it just as it was.
To be balanced: some people might consider it disadvantageous that finding street parking can be a challenge. However in my opinion, the low volume and turnover of traffic are very much part of the village’s charm and in any case there is a huge car park an easy enough and beautiful walk away.
The ladder style staircase to the bedroom on the upper of the 3 floors might be unsuitable for someone without good mobility. But since there is normal access to another 2 bedrooms and bathroom this is unlikely to be an issue for a family/group as a whole.

The top shower could have been a bit more powerful.

The location, the comfort of the cottage, ease of getting the keys and host was great.
Parking was a challenge, but the cottage is so nice we worth it

The cottage is in an excellent location, spacious lounge and well equipped kitchen. It also has a nice balcony with a table and chairs to sit outside with a gas barbecue.
Parking is restricted and streets are narrow

No car park space.

The cottage was perfect. Location was close to seafront and situated in private courtyard. The house itself is full of character with a modern twist. It’s fully equipped, clean and very spacious, offering plenty of room for 8 guests. Adults and kids all loved it! Great communication from hosts who were at the end of the phone if we needed anything. Definitely worth another visit. Great stay!

Perfect location..... Beach 100 yards away with somewhere excellent for breakfast and lots of little pubs just as close. Full kitchen appliances and very clean cottage on 3 floors with a roof terrace... Excellent for meals outside if weather good. Also has a lovely fire place when a bit colder
Parking can be challenging but it is set in a 17th century fish village so goes with the territory. We were parked right outside the cottage 80% of the time. There's lots of parking nearby tho

The location of the property is great - close to restaurants/cafes, the beach, the ferry etc but also quite quiet. The roads are v narrow so we found it easiest to drop off our stuff and park at the main car park by the zoo (5 min walk and £8 for 2 days) - rather than struggle getting parked each time.
There was plenty of hot water and the bedding and towels were clean.
Having read a few negative comments about the cleanliness of the property last year - prior to our arrival we asked the owner to ensure the cottage would be properly cleaned (something we would usually expect, but extra important given the current COVID situation). We were ensured the property would be thoroughly cleaned before our arrival. We were therefore shocked by the condition of the property - in particular the kitchen. Dirty, wet, smelly washing had been left in the washing machine, various food items had been left in the freezer. There were light fittings hanging out of the ceiling, the sink plug hole was dirty, as was the kettle, the fridge, the surfaces... the list goes on.
In our bedroom there was talc powder (well that’s what it looked like) in the dark carpet and down the valence, a hole in the wardrobe door, coat hooks falling off the door, the venetian blinds in most rooms were filthy...
On the upstairs terrace the metal furniture was flaking and peeling and there were no cushions (that we could find) so it made sitting on the chairs uncomfortable. The BBQ was covered in rust and no gas bottle (not that we would have used it given its condition). The deck itself hadn’t been swept in a long while and needed some tlc.
The control knob in the upstairs shower was broken so the flow couldn’t be adjusted, plug socket didn’t work, light switches were dirty - the overall standard of the property was sub-optimal. As a result of this we ate all of our meals out as we didn’t feel comfortable using the kitchen. During our stay, we mentioned our disappointment and concerns to the owner who said she was sorry, would speak to the cleaners and wished us well.
It will take more than a couple of hours cleaning to get this property up to scratch.
