The property of this house is stunning and well kept. The house as well is clean and immaculate. The owner was very attentive and amenable until an issue with the cameras came up.
We received a pdf before going which talked about video cameras that stated they were security for when the house was empty and that when occupied, notifications were turned off.
We saw that one of the cameras faced the house (lots of windows) and an outdoor shower. We had young girls at the house so we covered that camera to help them feel more comfortable. The owner immediately wrote telling me to rectify whatever we had done to the video camera. I explained to him that people felt uncomfortable with that camera and his response was to dismiss my concerns. He said the camera was far from the house and the shower door faced in the opposite direction. We stood next to it-very easy to observe anyone coming in and out of the shower.
This left us with a not good feeling the entire week. None of the guests used the shower.
The second issue was that the owner asked that windows and doors remain closed due to pollen. I understand that as a general rule but to insure this, there were no screens on the windows, so for the whole week we were unable to enjoy the fresh air and have easier access to the beautiful backyard and patio. If I’d known upfront that I wouldn’t be able to open windows on a rental property in the country, or that there were video cameras facing the house, I would not have rented it.

The home was beautiful and tranquil on an amazing and large swath of land. Everything we needed was there, internet was spotty was the only negative. We would stay there again. We had everything we could ever need for a holiday on the vineyard. Beach chairs, a bbq, and space. We even saw deer roaming the property, which was an extra bonus. Thank you for having us. Will need a car in my humble opinion as walking into town would be a trek on foot. We loved our stay and appreciated the character and coziness of this immaculate property.

The house offered plenty of room for our group of eight. We cooked a lot and the kitchen was perfect and well stocked with pots, cutting boards and everything you could think of. The grounds were beautiful. We used the fire pit a couple of nights and it was quiet and pleasant. The beds were comfortable and everything was provided.

This house has it all, character, charm and comfort. Colin is a totally attentive host. We were here in early November and the leaves were at their peak and this property showcases them beautifully. The driveway in to the house is long and magical. Very special.

Colin was very easy to work with and responded quickly to all questions. We had plenty of room for 6 adults and 3 children. The kitchen was very well equipped. It was easy to obtain passes to Lambert’s Cove beach, just need to bring the listed documentation.

The house is in a tucked away area not far from Lambert's Cove Beach. It is a tranquil and private setting. There is easy trail access and lots of land bank areas to explore. The house and guest cottage are very comfortable. There is plenty of space for a family to spread out; lots of little touches that make it feel like home. We enjoyed using the beach chairs, napping in the hammock, playing croquet on the lawn, having an evening fire on the patio, and cooking family meals each evening. I highly recommend it!

We enjoyed cooking breakfast every morning, taking long walks on the beautiful trails on the huge area of land surrounding the house & enjoying dinner either at a nearby restaurant (all were wonderful) or staying in and cooking. Truly restful & relaxing. The house & property were beautiful. We would love to stay here again.

The property is beautiful, with easy access to a lovely trail system for lots of walking. And the house is wonderful, with a perfect layout for a family of 6 (4 adults, including grandparents, and 2 teenagers) because it has a nice open design while also providing plenty of different seating areas.

Colin was kind enough to let us host our wedding at Turtle Pond farm. He was an absolute pleasure to work with while coordinating our event and even better the week of our wedding. The property is pristine, beautiful and so nice an secluded. Lamberts Cove beach is a short drive away for those visiting in the warmer months and one of our favorite beaches anytime of year.
Don't hesitate book this property, treat yourself!

Turtle Pond was a perfect location for our family. It was private location that allowed our family to relax & rewind before the start of school. We were close to the ferry, beach, shops & restaurants. There also plenty of walking trails for exploring.

We had a wonderful week at this house. The property is beautiful and the house is very spacious. We had 8 adults and two kids and every was comfortable. The host was very responsive to our issues and questions. As you may be able to tell by the map this house is a bit remote. You’ll drive 12 minutes before you see any stores or restaurants. We didn’t mind at all and appreciated the quiet and the local hiking trails. Beach access to Lamberts Cove was tough since we didn’t have a pass and the parking lot is tiny. We instead ventured out to different beaches. Furnishing and appliances in the house were functional but need a little updating which I believe the owner will pursue before next summer.

This property was as listed, very secluded and breath taking as u arrive and drive through the forest to the house. The house was spacious and enough room for your entire family and friends. The fire pit was lovely to sit around and talk at night, when the weather was perfect enough not to have to many bugs. When we arrived I was a bit worried that we would not be able to enjoy outside, but a few days past and the amount of bugs decreased, so my stepson and grandson were able to explore the estate and find the pond...etc. Colin responded immediately when a friend lost the key to the Cottage, he is very responsive and it wasn't a big deal. Seeing the deer eyes at night was amazing as we left and entered the property! I made recommendations to improve the stove top and stove, as they weren't very hot, and he said he would look into it. Overall, loved the property and hope to return one day!

Amazing home!
The home and property was absolutely beautiful! Our family has been vacationing on Martha’s Vineyard for over 30 years and this home was by far our favorite rental. Every time you pulled up to the property you were amazed by the beauty and charm of the home. The rooms were spacious and well decorated. You can tell the home is well built with quality craftsmanship. Each room retained the sound very well with our toddler waking up early in the morning without disrupting anyone else. In a group of 10 people, the home had ample space for everyone to spread out. Colin was excellent to work with. He is very responsive, accommodating, and attentive. We are already planning to book our stay for next year!

Beautiful home/Average experience
Colin has a beautiful property. The house was very spacious and accommodated our party of 10 without feeling on top of one another. The house was very clean, and we felt comfortable. On the other hand, we had some disappointments with the appliances. They are pretty dated and the AC on the first floor did not work our entire stay. At some point, the fridge had reached 65 degrees and our food in the freezer started to melt. The top oven only reached 420 degrees. The outdoor grill also took a while to warm up and only reached to 275 degrees. Colin replied to our messages, but nothing was resolved during our 4 night stay.

Beautiful, property; Beautiful vacation
While the property is private, it is close to all activities and restaurants. As well as being nice, Colin is quite responsive and when the coffee pot did not work, he brought another. There was plenty of space for everyone to have his/her own space and for the kids to run.

Authentic
If you love nature, and a comfortable sprawling cape, then you will love Turtle Pond. We saw deer, turtles, and many bird species occupying the lovely property on our stay. Our group of 8 ranging from 17-64 had plenty of room to spread out beyond the 5 br's. We puzzled, read, sunbathed, walked on the trails, cooked family dinners, and enjoyed the patio for sunset every night, sometimes utilizing the firepit for late night conversations. Bedrooms had plenty of space, and Colin has them decorated so everyone can find their comfortable choice. Vineyard Haven is 15 mins from the house with 3-4 grocers, and a quaint downtown with several wonderful shops. If you want more restaurants and bars, hop over to Oaks Bluff just 10 mins over the causeway. Edgartown is more refined and historical if that is your taste. Making Ferry reservations for your car in January is highly recommended, otherwise you play the waitlist game. We made wonderful memories, and highly recommend Turtle pond, especially if you want to come back to a sanctuary after your day trips to beaches, site seeing, and town shopping.

This was our 2nd stay at this property and we absolutely love it every time. Very accommodating and comfortable.

Amazing in every way
The photos on the listing, while amazing, do not do the property justice. The house is so solidly designed and built and so beautifully decorated. It is expansive, comfortable, and cozy all at once. Colin has thought of absolutely everything anyone could need when visiting. Our family of 5 had plenty of together time in the common spaces and plenty of solitude in the many nooks and little spaces throughout the house. The house is beautifully sited on the property, and brings in the sunlight and the outdoors perfectly. Lovely furnishings and personal touches are everywhere. This was our best VRBO experience ever.

Everything I hoped for, plenty of room for all of us, very secluded yet 20 minutes from the ferry.

A standout among many MV visits
We've been visiting the Vineyard individually since 1970, and as a family every year but one since 2004. We have stayed all over, Edgartown, Katama, OB, WT/Lamberts Cove, Up Island, everywhere. The 'farm' is among the most unique, beautiful, bucolic and serene properties we've rented. From the seemingly endless driveway to the pastoral grounds that connect to Land Trust paths, and the well-thought-out flow of the modern farmhouse, driving up on arrival the kids said "wow" and it is not easy to wow our kids. A friend who lives in West Chop picked us up for a hike and also said "wow," so let's go with wow. If you want privacy, beauty and solitude, your house awaits. And with it, you will find libraries, curios, all sorts of things of interest, and a very clear sense of aesthetics, demonstrating the owner has sophisticated tastes and broad world experiences (as indeed he has). We'll be back.

Delightful home.
The house was beautiful, very tastefully decorated, full of light. It is situated in a very private, quiet area. It was perfectly clean and well appointed. The owners were very kind and accommodating.

Beyond our expectations! The home was well appointed and spotless. We were equipped for cooking family meals, going to the beach at Lamberts Cove, hiking the trails, watching the football games, and sleeping in really comfortable accommodations. The grounds were beautifully landscaped, private, and tranquil. Central to grocery shopping and all the towns. Wish we could have stayed longer! Can’t wait to come back.

Beautiful and traditional cape cod home
If anything, the advertisement is humble about the size and scope of the home and surrounding property. There is a ton of privacy, without any noise pollution. Colin has decorated the home excellently as well, to the point it felt like staying at a good friends home instead of a sterile hotel environment. After our stay, we are already scheduling a trip for Turks and Caicos to stay in his other property because we know it will be just as homey and true to the local style.

Most magical property ever!
Turtle Pond Farm is where we hosted our wedding weekend and it couldn’t have been a more magical place for our friends and family to gather. Colin was absolutely incredible to work with and we cannot thank him enough for all of his support. The most stunning property and home ever! Thank you so much for truly making our wedding the most perfect we could ever imagine!

Absolutely perfect!
We could not have asked for a more beautiful house and property. Everything you could want was there! There was so much space that my family (ages 11 to 70) could all sit together or have some alone time. Highly recommend getting the pass to Lamberts Cove Beach -we went almost every day and was such a short drive! The neighbors dogs did come visit once or twice but being a dog person it was absolutely delightful since they are so friendly and goofballs. Highly recommend this location!!
