The best experience ever!!!!

I couldn’t describe our experience with words! From the very first time we stepped into Grandpa’s home, everything was wonderful! Hasan, the host, is the loveliest person we have met in our trip! He prepares an amazing breakfast ( with such a view ) , he gave us some Raki that is home made by him, some delicious tea from the mountains, and lemonade from the trees! Anisa ( his daughter) was not there but was really kind, always keen to help and available for anything you need. The location is perfect! Close to the bazaar! I believe it is around 5 min by foot! The rooms are cute and REALLY comfortable, perfectly clean and sparkling ( I’d say that none of my bed sheets and towels ever had this amazing smell 🤩😻) Are you carrying heavy luggage? No problem! It is pretty close from where the car can stop! Anyway! Just go! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Amazing guesthouse

Wat een lieve gastheer! De locatie is perfect, kamer zeer schoon. We kregen zelfs raki en wijn (zelfgemaakt)! Ondanks de taalbarriere toch een leuk gesprek kunnen hebben dmv googletranslate :) Heerlijk ontbijt voor +4 euro p.p. Old town is 5 minuten lopen. Last but not least, gezien onze vroege aankomst mochten we om 11:00 al inchecken!

Cute room in grandpas home, he offered selfmade Raki and wine and breakfast. Nice garden and great spot to walk to the old town in 5-10 min :)

10/10 I wish I had stayed longer

Our stay at Grandpa’s home was absolutely charming. The house was located in the historical part of the town only 6min away from the old bazaar. The room was super cozy and beautifully decorated in an authentic regional style, very clean and with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. There was absolutely nothing that was missing. The highlight of our stay was of course the delicious breakfast that was served by the most charming and energetic grandpa in the patio with a direct view of the castle. Would absolutely recommend!

Grandpa’s home was one of the most welcoming and warm places we have ever visited. A family environment where the cleanliness and the smell that was inside the whole house brought us back to our childhood memories, when we spent time with our grandparents. The accommodation they had chosen for us was wonderful, comfortable and warm. The breakfast was fantastic, the cooking, the drinks, the brandy made by the master's hands who served us. Everything is wonderful. We had a really good time. We would recommend it to anyone who would be a tourist in this country. We will be back again very soon.

very nice little home with an amazing view

The view from the terrace was amazing and we really enjoyed the homemade breakfast (4€/person) there! We could easily walk to the center of Gjirkoaster and found a parking space nearby. the streets are steep and we first went the wrong way because Google maps showed us a street that could not be used by car (but this is not the fault of grandpa’s home, just an Information if you go there by car!) All in all we felt very cozy and the communication with Anisa was very easy and friendly and her father was very sweet and welcoming!

there was no kettle or some cups to make a tea/coffe in our room which we kind of expected

Amazing host, great location and clean room.

Host was amazing! His daughter was very helpful via WhatsApp with sorting taxis, etc. Great location, clean room, and a good breakfast. We were treated to raki and some homemade red wine by the host too - delicious! The terrace is lovely to sit on in the afternoon and evening. Would love to stay again in the future.

Perfect stay at the Home of friendly people

Grandpa and his daughter extremely helpful and kind. Beautiful terrace with view to the Castle. Parking in front for free. Very good located - calm but only 5 minutes walk to bazaar with Restaurants, Bars and shops. Try the breakfast with turkish coffee (only 8 Euro for two persons) and the home made wine or raki 😃

This is the cutest place with a beautiful terrace, everything is extremely comfortable and the team are really proactive, helpful and accommodating

Very recommendable house, where we certainly will go back to when we are in the neighborhood.

Grandpa’s Home has a magnificent view over the valley, it is close to the centre and it is very quiet. The room was spacious and clean and the breakfast was tailormade. When we arrived we were offered coffee and raki to make us feel at home.

Lovely! A gem, homely. Very comfortable rooms in small guest-house in quiet location 5-10 mins walk to bazaar area (shops/bars/restaurants) and castle. Friendly host and lovely cooked breakfast on vine-covered terrace with great views of the castle. (When going up R Alqi Kondi, look for small clock on building on the left – Grandpa’s Home is down the steps immediately after.)

Lovely host and terrace

Most of all the owner, grandpa. He made us feel at home right away! although he doesn’t speak English, he surprised us with homemade raki and wine while we were sitting at his lovely terrace under the grapes.

Grandpa's home is the best option that you will find in Gjirokastra and it is especially very near the Old Town. The room was extra clean and the breakfast was exceptional. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. The best part is the yard of the villa, where you can relax and enjoy the view of the city castle. I recommend it to everyone 🤗😃

Best views in town

Big and clean room in Gjrokaster. The bed was really big and confortable! The house had a great terrace to enjoy a nice breakfast under the vine plants and with views to the castle. The owner was really nice and he even helped us with a problem we had with the car.

anisa was super helpful about everything. the room was very clean and pleasant. the place have a beautiful balcony with a great view over the city and the castle. and the location was very good for us because it wasn’t in the main road so it was more nice and still very close to everything. I really recommend this place (:
