This was a beautiful home. The views were wonderful, and the atmosphere was exactly what we wanted. While this does sleep six, be aware that you will have to double up in each bedroom.
The outdoor shower looks and sounds a bit weird, but ended up being one of our favorite parts of the stay!
There's no AC, and it was a little hot when we got there, but the cool sea breeze kept things quite comfortable once you opened up the doors and windows.
Over all the house was very clean, there were a few geckos in the house, but they were never a bother, just freaked out the girls.
The only real complaint is that it was a bit out of the way of things. It's at least a 10 minute drive to any place to eat or shop. Also the cliffs right behind the house are public and get. A LOT of traffic. It was never really a bother, but there were cars pulling in and out well into the AM. Usually pretty quiet, but there was one night they played music until around 1 AM. It wasn't enough yo really bother anyone, but it was audible.
All in all, it was beautiful and relaxing. We would highly reccomend if you're looking for some R&R and aren't worried about the seclusion.

We have stayed here several times. We like that it is easy to walk to the beach park and either go to Maku'u Point along Beach Road and Ala Heiau Road, or to Kaloli Point along Beach Road and Paradise Ala Kai.
The house itself is very room and airy, and we like the semi-outdoor shower: the doors add plenty of privacy, and you can get to it from inside. The upstairs shower is nice too, but doesn't have two shower heads.

Take note..we would definitely stay here again. Large home well appointed and generally very clean.
Pro's..listen to the ocean 24/7, although close to public access, we felt very safe here, and well away from tourist traffic.
Cons..its out there a bit, no stores nearby to grab the little things you forgot. Like I said earlier, generally very clean, but we found a big dead bug as we put our bags down when entering the property which taking into consideration where you are, its kind of to be expected. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

We loved hearing the Ocean every night. Walk from home to Makuu and Puna Trail for hiking. Walk out backyard to sit on lava with ocean views. Feel lucky to see whales and sea turtles from there. The entire home was perfect especially outdoor and walk in bathrooms. Mahalo Mele Kai.

Big and private. Good place to watch waves hit cliffs

The location of this place is great, we love this neighborhood. We first stayed here about 8 years ago. There have been some very nice upgrades to it since then. New mattress, couch, outdoor furniture and ceiling fans. Place was clean, plenty of starter products and toiletries that got us the 2 of us through the week. Sunrises from the lanai were fantastic. Definitely would stay here again.

Graceful island retreat. Stunning views. Unique architecture and home interior design. The hot tub was so relaxing. The hubby loved the outdoor lux shower.

The property more than met my expectations as I found myself saying wow a lot during our stay. Paradise Cliffs is just beyond the backyard. It was beautiful. HPP is a beautiful and strategic place to stay to explore all the wonderful places on the Hilo side of the island. There are lots of birds, lizards, & geckos all around the house & the geckos know how to get inside the house. Its cool. I hope to return again in the future.

Enjoyed everything.

A lovely, spacious house with a view of a spectacular rugged coastline. Between the property and ocean is a road which is great for walking and jogging. The house includes a huge master bedroom and bath, along with two smaller but adequate bedrooms, and a hot tub in a room off the living room. If you want a swimming beach, go to a luxury hotel near Kona on the other side of the island.

This place was a dream! Close enough to adventure & town if we needed, yet completely felt like our own oasis. Very clean & comfortable. When we come back, this is where we’ll stay!

We (two couples) really enjoyed our stay at this house, especially the quiet location, ocean views, lovely birds, nearby hikes, and the big common areas where we could hang out in the spacious living room, large kitchen, or ocean-facing patio. We cooked a lot together and had everything we needed, though maybe could add a few large serving bowls and a pitcher for iced drinks. The beds and sectional sofa were very comfortable. Would stay here again!

Our family of 4 loved this beautiful, clean and spacious home. The neighborhood feels safe and we enjoyed walking on the coastline path behind the house. It seems to be a popular spot for small late night gatherings on the weekend, but the noise was not too troublesome. It was fun sleeping to the sounds of coqui frogs and waves and waking to roosters and crashing waves. The kitchen is a delight to cook in and everything was in working order despite some funky electrical stuff. Location is not too far from grocery/restaurants/Hilo/volcano, not walking distance though. Be sure to get dinner at Kaleo’s!

Such a beautiful home! It was perfect for two couples on a relaxing getaway to the Big Island. Highly recommend!

This charming house, within a moment's walk of the cliffside and ocean, is in a fairly remote location. At first we wondered if it was too remote, but by the 2nd day we were there we were delighted with the peace, and comforted that a modest drive got us to anything we wanted to see, and any services we needed. That said, there is often traffic on the highway from Hilo that did make travel a bit of a drag.
The house was meticulously clean and organized. Loads of towels, comfortable bed and excellent appliances, (with the exception of a toaster oven in need of replacement). We loved waking to the sounds of the surf and the birds, and taking sunrise walks along the cliff, watching the waves roll in. A perfect place for rest and restore, and within 30 minutes of the Volcano National Park.

This was our third time staying at this property and we love it! BUT it has severe water pressure problems. At first we found that we could only use one water fixture at a time. So do not use a sink or flush a toilet anywhere in the entire 3 bedroom with 2.5 bathrooms while you are showering or you will be standing there with only a dribble of water in the shower. This is ridiculous for such a nice and relatively (at least for our family) expensive property. But we dealt with this for a couple of days until I took a dribble shower with no other water running in the house (I was policing the entire family). At which point I complained to the property manager. They sent a technician and we were told that they cleaned a filter and when we used the water next it was LOVELY without any concerns of multiple water fixture use. This should be better managed by the property!!! We were given a very small discount for our inconvenience. Only other minor complaint were the master bedroom windows which have a direct view of the ocean - if you could see out of them! They are so covered in what I imagine is salt water buildup that they are more opaque. Which is a shame because it is such a amazing view. None of this is to say we would not stay here again. BUT definitely contact the rental company immediately if any plumbing issues - don’t wait like we did.

I loved this unique house with a beautiful view. You can walk out the back gate to access the rocky coast. You feel like you are out in the jungle, and the tree frogs sing in the evening. We really enjoyed our stay.
4.9
The property and the location were fantastic. The only real problem is any type of restaurants or grocery stores are 25 minutes away so arrangements need to be made to stock up on food and beverages prior to checking in or face a 50 minute round trip drive over the same roads you just traveled. I have stayed at several Vrbos and this facility did not have as many of the minor items such as a bag of coffee, waxed paper, salt, pepper, etc. many small items you would only use one or twice and hate to pay for and not take home because of size. Other than this one feature, the facility is perfect for the price.

Comfortable and serene with sweet artistic touches everywhere, and fantastic showers. Great setting along the ocean cliffs perfect for early morning sunrise walks. Our whole family loved it.

Would absolutely stay here again.

This house is well-located between Hilo and Volcano National Park, half a block from the ocean and cliffs, and
It is a very comfortable and easy house to be in, with spacious rooms, a large kitchen and gorgeous views (and sounds) of the ocean. The house is tucked away at the end of a long road in a residential neighborhood so come prepared with groceries, including pantry items (salt/pepper, oil, etc) or drive 20 + minutes for supplies. Many good restaurants located 20+ minutes away. We had a great time here and recommend this home.

Home is very big & view is amazing. Wasn’t to happy with a lot of things in home, such as a few unfinished details like the pool. No listing of a unfinished/under construction to home was given. Bathrooms don’t have curtains/blinds that May expose us showering. A lot more but don’t want to list then

This was a wonderful stay and we really enjoyed the property! We initially did not receive our check-in info and the property manager did not respond to our in-app messages, but once we called the property manager we were helped quickly and the necessary information was sent to us. I would highly recommend staying at this property because it is spacious, close to the ocean, and close to activities and food. Thank you, we really enjoyed our stay!

1st Class Home
We had a marvelous stay in this lovely home (4 adults, 1 child). The view out the back side of the house is spectacular. You are literally 100 feet from the ocean. You enter on a landing a few steps from a spacious and open living/dining/kitchen area. There is also a hot tub. Downstairs are two bedrooms, a bathroom and laundry room with washer/dryer on the lower level. Upstairs is a beautiful master suite with the best view of all. In summary, the place is spacious, beautiful and tastefully decorated. If there wasn't so much to see on the big island, we could have been happy spending all day everyday in this place.

Near perfect vacation rental
We had a few snafus with check-in, but the property manager was very responsive and able to provide a solu†ion within 10 minutes. The electrical on the lanai, as well as a few other areas including the hot †ub, kep† shorting out randomly un†il we called it into the management company who fixed the issue during the middle of our stay. The hot tub, by the way, was in a screened area, which was nice, had we been able to use it.
The property is in a residential area a good distance form the main highway, and about 20 minutes from Hilo. The nearest coffee shop is more than 6 miles away. Ultimately, the location worked for us in †hat we traveled mainly on †he east side of the island, including Volcano. The house is bigger than it looks. Don' arrive after dark, however--it's very dark except for a small mo†ion light. The house is set back from the ocean cliffs and there are a row of palm trees partially blocking the view, bu† to also provide privacy. If you are an A/C person, be prepared for no A/C in humid Hawaiian weather. The house has ceiling fans in each room. We heard the coqui frogs each night (sound like birds) and the ocean crashing on †he cliffs abou† 50 yards out. There is a back access road, which locals use to access the shoreline, but o†her than an occasional light at night, didn't find it disrup†ive or concerning, nor was it busy. You can;† blame the locals for parking there, as the view is amazing at the cliff line.
Most everything was immaculate. None of the screen doors lock. All windows work well. Some back yard landscaping is in order, †hough I loved the path †ø †he gate using coconuts †hat fell from †he tree on †he premises. Ultimately, we felt very comfortable in the house and it had a great feel. Our 12 and 13 year old daugh†ers enjoyed their rooms, which were downstairs. The master is upstairs. By the end of our stay, we did no† want to leave.

Beautiful location; airy and spacious home
We loved the location, just across the street from lava cliffs overlooking the ocean. About 25 minutes from Hilo and 45 minutes from the visitor center at Hawaii Volcano National Park, it is convenient yet out of the way. Pleasant walks to Kaloli Point or Maku'u point on days you don't feel like driving. The beach park across the street can get noisy in the late afternoon or early evening, but usually quiets down when it gets dark.
