Food was excellent. Location fantastic

The meals were great and there was so much to choose from. There were options to sit inside or outside, weather dependent. The staff was well trained and friendly, and always available when needed. There were many staff members, but they were inconspicuous. My spouse and I really enjoyed the walks and bird life.
Not much that I can think of.

I’ve been going to The Cavern for close on 20 years now and I fully intend to continue visiting there until I am no longer on this mortal coil.
There was a muddle up with the rooms. My husband and I had booked a superior room but same was allocated to our friend and we were allocated to a double family room. Quite how or why 5 beds were booked and allocated for 3 adults, I’m not sure. I don’t know where the muddle arose, with booking.com or at The Cavern but, in order to avoid this in the future, I will book directly with The Cavern going forward.

As Previously experienced our overall stay was excellent, quiet, relaxing, comfortable, good surrounding walks and scenery, staff were very friendly and provide a professional service. We have been regular visitors and will continue
to be so in the future.
We found some aspects of room maintenance needed attention. We also felt the meals served should be hotter than
we received.

The food was very good (tasteful and well presented), and the people helpful and friendly.
My friend was on crutches. It was furthermore raining when we were there. It was not clear from the website that the layout of this establishment is as such that it will be difficult to move around between the room, dining room, etc.

The breakfast was like all the food offered at the Cavern exceptional. The fruit offering was simply fantastic
The only thing that we would have liked is for the rooms to have umbrellas as the evenings tended to be rainy and it would have made the journey to and from the bedrooms less stressful.

Beautiful location, surrounded by stunning scenery. Our room was good, with a nice modern bathroom. The food was very nice and they made us a picnic lunch to take with us.
It was quite cold in the main areas, as all the doors and windows were open for ventilation, because of covid.

Meals - exceptional Staff -amazing Location - Stunning
This was our 4th visit but our guests 1st and The Cavern NEVER fails to impress
The fact that i had booked 4 months in advance and the suites were NOT next to one another but 8 units away was very disappointing
What was even more disappointing was the fact that the suite next door to ourselves was EMPTY the whole time

The Cavern is our favorite place. The food is phenomenal, the facilities are excellent, there is so much to do (tennis, guided hikes and walks, spa, movies, quizz nights, reading, swimming, horse riding, Bowles, cycling… you name it!). Nothing is too much trouble for the staff - everyone is so kind and helpful. You feel like you’re staying with family. The setting is unparalleled. The spa is brilliant. Can’t find a better place in the berg!
