Great hostel

This was a great find. Such a homey vibe and lovely opportunity to sit around in the very comfortable dining/sitting room and meet other travellers. So many nice touches like giving a facecloth with the towel - and a dishwasher in the kitchen!

Absolut empfehlenswert!

Das war eines der besten Hostels, in dem ich je war. Wunderschöner Garten, top ausgestattete Küche (sogar mit Geschirrspüler) , die Gastgeberin war extrem freundlich, es gab sogar Kuchen. Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber. Ich hätte mir nach meiner langen Anreise keine bessere Bleibe wünschen können.

너무 아름다웠어요! 방도 정원도 거실도 주방도 깨끗. 가정집 같은 느낌. 여학생 기숙사형 다층 침대 사진보다 더 예쁘고 편하고 이불 커텐 조명이 너무 예뻤어요. 특히, 방안에 화장실과 샤워부스 있다는게 특장점! 정원에 꽃들도 너무 아름다웠고 창문열면 꽃과 풀이 까꿍! 층고가 높아서 답답하지 않고 아늑한 분위기. 다른 빽패커는 주방이 더러워서 놀랬는데 여기는 호스트언니 상주여서 그런지 정말 깨끗해요!

Wonderful gem

Wonderful home, gracious host (Merlyn) | lovely home and garden, walking distance to city center and gardens | functional kitchen with tea and coffee, host baked sugar cookies, too | solid WiFi | hot shower, soap and towels | soft furniture and beneficial travel suggestions | wonderful conversation with other travelers | appreciated opportunity to check-in early, and park motorbike in the driveway one of the few hostels that I wanted to stay longer | thank you!

Everything! This is one place that deserves an 11/10. Cleanest, most organized hostel I have ever stayed at in my life and the house, garden, and entire property were beautiful and comfortable.

Perfect backpacker lodge

Our stay at Southern Comfort was perfect. The backpacker lodge has everything you need- a comfy lounge and breakfast area, fully equipped kitchen, fridge with plenty of space, complimentary tea and coffee, comfortable rooms and clean bathrooms. Merlyn the host is great, she even left out home baked treats! We wouldn't hesitate to stay again; 100% recommend.

Kleines, familiäres Backpacker in Fußdistanz zur Innenstadt und zum Stadtpark. Bequeme Betten. Vollumfänglich ausgestattete Küche inkl. Spülmaschine. Schöner Garten. Gutes WLAN. Gab sogar einen selbst gebackenen Zitronenkuchen für die Gäste.

太舒適的環境、草皮，完美的廚房，用餐區域，交誼廳和乾淨的廁所，接待主人很用心。

有曬衣場，但是找不到洗衣的水槽，不過不影響完美的住宿體驗😊

Absolut empfehlenswert

Ein unglaublich liebevolles Haus mit Garten, in dem ich mich absolut willkommen gefühlt habe. Die Inhaberin kümmert sich, ist aber nicht aufdringlich. Sehr ordentlich, sehr sauber. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Hostel feels like home

One of the best hostels I've stayed in. The owner is super nice and helpful, and even sometimes leaves baked goods for the guests! The kitchen is clean and orderly (it even has a dishwasher!), the lounge is very cozy and comfortable. The room had its own bathroom with shower, and towels and shower products were provided. Very social and good atmosphere among the guests. Highly recommend!

More of a recommendation; separate reading lights for the beds could be nice.

Very cosy and feels like home

The lady working there was lovely. She was helpful and made a lovely cake. The bed was really comfortable and the two pillows were a nice touch. She had spare towels in the bathroom which was nice.

Wonderful little backpackers that feels like a second home and has everything you need.

Great location, fantastic rooms and wonderful atmosphere. It was more like a nice BnB than a backpackers as you were so well looked after and everyone was lovely. The kitchen was perfect, plenty of great bathrooms and toilets so you never had to wait. Comfy beds and not too many beds to a room which was great. I'll definitely be staying again when I return to the area.

Awesome!

Everything went extraordinarily well. Particularly enjoyed the social card games. Used butane canisters were gifted. Merlyn even made biscuits for all to enjoy. Was grateful to have my requests met.

Charming, clean and comfy hostel in Invercargill

Very nice and helpful owner. Charming old house with a wonderful backyard and great common areas. Very comfy, clean, well equipped, with a "feel at home" vibe. Super close to the city centre, easy to park your car for free.
