The location is perfect for a weekend in Sydney- easy to walk to Darling Harbour and Circular Quay. The location is what you’re paying for as the house itself is a bit dated and amenities super basic. Only bath towels provided and these were the thin type with some of them having Playboy on them! Extra pillows in cupboards but no pillowcases. Hot water in the middle level bathroom very temperamental. We were there on a hot weekend and the house was hot- just one small fan in the lounge but thankfully aircon in the bedrooms which worked well. Overall we enjoyed our stay but for the price, don’t expect luxury.

Older travellers beware. This property has very steep and narrow stairs. Floor plan is this: kitchen, dining area, bed and bath on lower level. Street level is 2nd floor which has a livingroom and bathroom. 3rd floor is only 2 bedrooms. If you need frequent nighttime bathroom visits, using that steep stairs to get to the bathroom is not easy. Also, the beautiful view of the bay is from the third floor, while sitting on the edge of the bed, looking out the window. The backyard needs some serious upkeep. We found a broken cabinet, weeds everywhere, and an ancient cafe table set, surrounded by a high fence, no view. However, ending on a positive note, the location was excellent.

Brilliant location.

Very charming neighborhood, walking distance to many of the downtown attractions including the Opera House. Several rustic bars and restaurants nearby. Perfect for our little three day get away.

The pictures doesn't reflect the reality. The house need some repairs and a good coat of paint. The stairs aren't just steep but also very narrow. And the backyard was full a weeds, not a place you would like to have a nice coffee or a glass of wine. But the location was great.

This property does not match the description or photos and is in very poor condition. The house was very dirty and not at all suitable for anyone with mobility issues. There is no mention about the steep stairs on the ad and I think this needs to be disclosed, the listed property compared to the actual property is very different and not in a good way. It also advises that there is parking on site. There is no parking. The cupboards were broken and the oven didn’t work.

The location was fantastic, easy to get to public transport and city centre. The stairs were definitely steep but the aircon the room was very much appreciated.

Great location and base for our girls weekend away. The levels which is fine as long as your ok with extremely steep steps. Pub and few restaurants next door, walking distance to all the attractions. Home needs a little TLC and appliances updated but beds were comfortable.

We loved our stay. There was a lot of room and it was warm. The heat pumps are great!
It was easy to walk to the train station or corner shop and close to the city centre.
The stairs are a little narrow and there’s 2 lots of them so I wouldn’t recommend for anybody that couldn’t do stairs but other than that we had a lovely stay, it has everything you need in it and it was very nice and clean.

Was clean, comfortable. Great location. Would definitely stay again

Stairs can be steep for some travellers but this is an older home with lots of charm and stairs are characteristic for the home. The location was excellent for getting around everywhere by foot. Would stay here again.

The location of this property is the best part about it. Easy walk to the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge and the hustle and bustle of The Rocks and Circular Quay. Communication with the owner was a bit challenging. Not sure if that was a VRBO site thing or if they just chose to not respond when I tried to contact them before our booking.

We had a great stay. Parking can be tricky but Lisa assisted with arranging permit for 2 of the 3 days stay. Beds were comfortable. House could do with a bit of TLC mainly in the courtyard area and some upgrading of facilities such as providing an outdoor setting. These old houses can be tricky for smaller children or people with mobility issues due to the very steep and narrow steps so keep this in mind. Front door can only be locked with a key meaning that when I wanted to go out I either had to leave without a key or leave the people at home locked in. Would stay here again!

Great location and Lisa was very responsive.
The property was in a great central location.
The apartment itself was unkempt and untidy and could do with a decor makeover.
The cupboards had doonas just shoved on the shelves, not folded. The kitchen had odd assortment of old coffee cups and glasses. Toilet paper rolls piled up ontop of the fridge when there was ample cupboard space for them to be stored. The downstairs shower was full of mould. There were filthy plastic faded flowers on the windows sills, at the back door and inside the house. The back court yard pavers were full of weeds. No attention to detail anywhere. The apartment is advertised to sleep 6, there was 5 of us. Only seating for three people in the courtyard, and only for 4 people in the lounge.
A great position but we were disappointed, just needed a good clean and tidy up.

A lovely historic terrace with plenty of modern comforts in an excellent location. Great pubs a stones throw away, beds comfortable, kitchen well equipped. Top class view from upper storeys. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Plus points! The location was fantastic, close to everything, walking distance to Bangaroo, Circular Quay, great pubs (Lord Nelson & Palisades) and all the lovely old buildings throughout the Rocks. The beds were comfy, showers hot, location was easy to find. Notes on how to access the property were very clear.
Negatives, that were not made clear in the listing, lack of wine glasses, not enough chairs in the lounge room, and very steep stairs. The property needs some repairs/upgrades, as the windows in my bedroom were held together with tape, as was the cooktop in the kitchen. There were some odd items in the cupboards that we were not sure if they had been left by the owner or previous guests. The water view is only from the upstairs landing and upstairs bedroom.
We also received a very harsh message prior to booking in that if we made noise outside after 10pm we would be fined a $1,000 penalty (this should be stated on the listing). (Not that we were outside after 10pm as there is nowhere to sit.)

The place was needing a few things it needed to be cleaned properly as there was dust on the light fittings an upgrade to a smart TV it needed coffee, tea, sugar milk as a basic and it did not supply hand towels. If you have children or older adults it would not be suitable as the staircases were steep. It was in a pretty good location to train etc..

Lisa was very well in communication. The location was great - everything was at the doorstep. Great family stay!

Great location to Opera house and downtown. Close to all transit and ferries.

Great location, disappointing communication
A warning about the steep narrow stairs would have been helpful on the website.
REALLY disappointed in the threatening tone of the text about any noise. If you are going to threaten people with significant fines, please warn them in your advertisement.

Great little spot
Awesome location to see Sydney. House had real character. Stairs were a little steep, but you have to remember the house was originally built in 1865.
Will stay here again next time I’m in town.

Perfect location to explore Sydney. We were easily able to walk to everything we wanted.
Great space for a couple and three teenagers. Not heaps of living space but well worth it for the bedrooms and the location.

Top spot
Perfectly located for Sydney harbour exploring , simple no fuss furniture, great views, plenty of room for a few friends getting together. If you are a wine snob though bring your own glasses as it’s slim pickings for them.

Check in was awkward because owner didn’t give enough information. She kept saying the lock box was on the green door. She neglected to say that the green door was on the back of the property. The water in the showers ran mostly ice cold. Occasionally very hot water would spew out, but it never lasted very long.Beds were very comfortable.

Perfect location
6 of us stayed. 2 kids, 2 parents, 2 grandparents. Everyone had own room and space. All amenities as described. Friendly host. GREAT location walking distance from Circular Quay, Darling Harbor, and great food!

Great location!
I really liked the location as it was close to all the things we were planning to see during our visit. The host was very helpful since we were traveling from the USA & provided address & basic instructions more than 24 hours in advance. This was important to us since our flights alone were 20 hours & we were meeting our senior parents in Sydney & they were on different flights from a different city.
The unit is 3 floors, lots of stairs. The 1st level is 1 bedroom, dining, kitchen & bath room with laundry. We let the senior parents have that level since stairs are more difficult for them. 2nd level was bathroom & living room. Top, 3rd floor has 2 bedrooms, one with king bed & the other with 2 twin needs. All bedrooms had AC, which was really helpful in the top floor as that seems to be where the heat migrated to.
Host provided all the basic items, towels for showers, shampoos & soaps. Kitchen was nicely stocked also.
Overall, it was perfect for us, close to everything & super comfortable.

The location is excellent, house while good condition is very old with 3 Levels.
Property is easy walking distance to Opera house, Bridge. Close to Darling Harbor. Location and number of bedrooms is amazing. Washer and drier new and fast. Some negatives- property is older (per the area) and some occasional noise at night - loud neighbor’s one evening; three levels with two bedrooms at top level which was okay us since our two adult kids were up there. WiFi is glitchy and not best on ground floor. Some of niceties you may expect such as coffee were not there. One big negative was that original booking was check in at 10am and checkout was 2pm. Since our flight was 3pm our plan was checkout noon. However when I texted Lisa the day before to see what we needed to do for checkout and confirm time, she was confused and said checkout is 10am promptly to give time for cleaning. When I sent her the screenshot of the reservation, she didn’t initially acknowledge this being her mistake, but simply said “How can I get the property ready for the next guest if you don’t check out by 10 am?” Ultimately we worked out a solution where we could leave our luggage inside while shopping and coming back at noon. Lastly, we didn’t get info for getting into the property until I emailed Lisa the day before. Then she did give good detailed information with pictures and advice on address to have Uber driver drop off (it’s confusing so be sure to get that info - front door is one St but front door doesn’t work).
Bottom line is if you are looking for a 5 star Ritz Carlton like property, this is not for you. But if you are a 4-5 people who can get up/down stairs easily and looking for prime location and don’t mind a little nuisances, this is amazing. Word of advice though is to confirm several times the details of check in and out.

How to make your Sydney stay easy!
Though we had difficulty getting the key lock box open, once we did, we found the property was very clean and comfortable. Plenty of towels and blankets. Everything we could possibly need for a relaxing holiday. The little courtyard, with it's table and chairs was a real bonus, as we had beautiful weather while there and it was great to be able to sit outside. We did not cook anything, but everything was there that we could need if we had wanted to. I would definitely stay there again.
