Very quiet and peaceful. 2nd year we have stayed here.

This is our second stay at this lovely cabin. It has quickly become our home away from home and we're already looking forward to a stay next year!
While not huge, the cabin is incredibly spacious in its layout. It is nicely stocked with panty staples and quality cookware. A paddle boat, canoe, life vests, fishing supplies, and other outdoor equipment abound. They have already thought of and stashed anything you might forget exactly where you might think to look for such an item.
Hosts are gracious and communicative. Nothing about this listing will let you down. I fear giving it such high marks in case it fills up faster than I'd personally like. ;)
Enjoy your stay!

Loon Lodge is in a very special location! The pond is so beautiful with ducks, loons and a variety of other birds. The water is very clean and great for swimming. The deck is very close to the water and the view of the quiet pond is stunning! The cottage is well stocked with movies, books and games. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a meal. The owner Lisa Ann is very pleasant to communicate with. I hope to go back next year!

Amazingly clean and fresh. Full of interesting additions, like hammock and float and life vests and canoe. Well stocked and comfortable. The scenery is something we'll never forget. So relaxing and peaceful with it being in a lake community. The Northeast Kingdom itself is an amazing playground for lovers of the outdoors.

Gorgeous cabin as advertised. It was a little past peak season so a lot of things weren't open in town, but there was still plenty to do at the cabin. It was chilly but GORGEOUS. We watched spooky movies, stayed in and cooked for ourselves, did puzzles and just enjoyed the quiet and each other's company. Would definitely recommend 10/10

We’ve been coming to the NEK for several years this was first “peak” week for foliage!! This property did not disappoint! The location was picture perfect and we got the most amazing week weather wise! The Canoe was a plus for sure to explore Newark Pond! Still can’t believe our luck, Thank you Lisa Ann for sharing this stunning property!

Overall a nice, quiet place. Comfortable and well stocked with amenities. Cozy bed. Only negatives were very early checkout for vacation (10 am) with a lot of cleaning before leaving, including wiping out the trash bin.) but the biggest thing was a 24-hour twin led spotlight that brightly lit up the whole backyard, not allowing for star gazing over the lake and enjoying firepiy. No switch to turn off anywhere in sight. Otherwise a nice place.

Wonderful cozy cabin. Great place to get away for some peace and quiet. Felt like we had the pond to ourselves.

Loon Lodge is an amazing place to stay - I'm leery of recommending it because I want the place all to myself!
Seriously, though. It doesn't get much better than Loon Lodge! Gorgeous, both inside and out. There was no light pollution, and we could see the Milky Way clearly.
Canoe and pedal boats are great to investigate the lake and Loon Island, not to mention fishing. We caught many smallmouth bass and a couple of beautiful rainbow trout. Kayaks would be fantastic here.
Everything you can think of is in the cabin if you forget something at home. Even some stocked groceries if you don't feel like going to town (or get snowed in for winter, haha). We especially appreciated the cookware! When we go someplace more remote, we don't want to have to drive for dinner every night. There was a great selection, and they were in nice shape.
Comfy beds and furniture. And we absolutely had a ball with the eclectic DVD collection. Each morning, one of us would pick one as a surprise for family movie time later. What a hoot!
Bottom line: staying at Loon Lodge won't disappoint you.

This cottage was very comfortable and well appointed with everything we needed during our stay. Well equipped kitchen. The pond is beautiful for swimming-no weeds! I had a lovely swim across the pond this morning, and no worries with motor boats etc. I didn't see any sign of jet ski's on this pond. I would be happy to stay here again.

The view was fantastic. The lake was feet away and easily accessible with steps and dock. It felt private. Home was comfortable and clean. Loved our time.

First rate and just rustic enough to be called a cabin, but with all the amenities of a modern home. I will be booking my trip for next year. Although not a complaint, I would enjoy a small washer/dryer unit for longer stays.

After working 7 days a week on our farm from late winter to the end of October, we sought out a quiet oasis on a lake in the NEK. We immediately were in heaven when we arrived here. Thank you so much for sharing this with us-we couldn’t have been happier and that nap I took on the dock was the icing on the cake!

Everything about this property fit our style, from the sun rise paddles, the beatutify gravel road riding, having dinner lakeside on the deck to quiet evening in front of a fireplace. The property is a bucket list property. Thanks.

Nostalgic, cozy, charming, and incredibly peaceful. I truly could not have asked for a better way to spend an October weekend in Vermont! My family and I felt like we had turned back time to simpler times - we loved not having cell service, because all that mattered was a log on the fire and a good book to read. For daytime activities, the proximity to Lake Willoughby and hiking trails is awesome. And don’t forget to take advantage of the beautiful deck and hammock! P.S. The photos do not do it justice, especially the lakefront views!!

We had a wonderful time at Lisa's home. The house was immaculate, and was incredibly well stocked with items that I have rarely seen at other rentals. The location on Newark Pond was perfect- quiet, serene, and beautiful. We spent hours just sitting on the deck and watching and listening to the loons.
If you are looking for a peaceful getaway in a gorgeous location, this is the place to stay!!

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Loon Lodge. It's a little gem tucked into the NEK!

What a comfortable place for 2 people and the porch and view are outstanding. We so enjoyed the loons and we are big walkers so the various roads were perfect for 5 mile walks every day. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could possibly need including oils, spices, foil baggies, cleaning supplies, condiments in the refrigerator, dishes and appliances (except a dishwasher-me!) We grilled most nights and it was fun once you got the grill going. The living room was very comfortable and perfect for 2 to 3 people. Only two small drawbacks. One the queen bedroom is super small and tight but we took out the chair and managed to get around once we moved pillows, extra bedding, etc. to the other room. The other issue has to do with hot water. It took a long time for the water to heat up so we tried to take showers and do dishes close to the same time. The hot water works fine in the bathroom after 5-10 minutes but I generally couldn’t get the water hot enough in the kitchen so I wound up boiling water on the stove most of the time to do the dishes. Both of these are minor inconveniences and what you would expect from a cottage. And the view and dock is why we were there. We loved our stay ( no bugs to speak of!) and would highly recommend to any couple and maybe one child( bunk bedroom is tight too so we used it to store suitcases).

We enjoyed a short week at Loon Lodge because a full week was not available. The pond is pretty developed so less wildlife sighting from the canoe than we would have liked, but the lodge is lovely, communications with host was good and we enjoyed a peaceful home base for hiking and a couple of restful rainy days. Being right in the lake afforded some pretty sunsets from the deck as well.

Perfect Northeast Kingdom getaway
Wonderful place to stay and we absolutely intend to go back. This is off a well maintained dirt road in Northeast Vermont.
While being easily accessible it is in an unspoiled, quiet and fairly remote area of VT while still not being too far from town. The pond (which is really more like a small lake) is absolutely beautiful. The water is crystal clear and you could almost jump off the back deck into the water. The sound of the loons echoing over the lake at night is something I have never heard before quite like this. The cabin is a very short drive to lake Willoughby which is definitely worth exploring. I stayed here with my wife and kids and we all loved it. Thank you again for sharing your home with us.

GORGEOUS, relaxing, serene, lake side escape!
Lovely home, all the creature comforts including extra bedding (which came especially in handy as it was MUCH colder than anticipated during our stay!), extra fishing pole (and boy were they biting!), very clear instruction for the property, warm and easy interactions with owner. We had rainy, overcast weather all 4 days, but we were able to fish and get my 4 yo out in an inflatable pirate ship we'd brought. Too cold and rainy to gamble on the paddleboat or canoe with a young one with short attention span, but would have loved to explore the lake more. The loons were beautiful to hear- I can see why the owners named the home Loon Lodge! Would stay again for sure.

Loon Lodge is the PERFECT summer cabin
Wow! The access to Newark Pond from this property is extraordinary. The lodge itself is also just so darling. Grilling on the deck and paddling on the pond were the highlights for our group. Definitely would love to come back!!

Serenity and solitude
This cottage is ideally located on a pristine pond. We had two days of perfect weather to canoe the pond and climb nearby Mt. Hor. We loved hearing the calls of the loons and the owls in the evening. The house had everything we needed and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Fabulous - perfect
Wonderful retreat for our family, the house was BEAUTIFUL AND VERY WELL appointed, there was even a small bag of tolietries in the bathroom labeled: "if you forgot something," a kind gesture by the host
Paddle boat and canoe were available for our use. Water is pristine and the house is very private .
The surrounding area of Vermont is beautiful and fun to explore, lots of lakes and hiking trails, fishing spots, restaurants and shops.
We HIGHLY recommend !

Peaceful and relaxing!
This was the perfect little getaway for the long weekend!! The cabin was so cozy and the decor was so cute and I loved all the little details. Very clean and comfy and having the water right outside your back door was just amazing. The owner did a fantastic job of stocking the cabinets with oddities that you may not even think you’ll need until you get there. We loved it and will definitely be back!!!

Great stay on Newark Pond!
Enjoyed the three loons on the pond, as well as the pair of hooded mergansers looking for a nesting site. A quiet, peaceful, gorgeous stay!

Couples getaway
My husband and I were celebrating 20 years together so we wanted to pick a location where all we could do is just relax and this was the most perfect location. Not only was the house absolutely beautiful as well as location, the host Lisa was quick to respond and so very sweet. She answered any questions we had. I highly recommend this cabin especially if you want some peace and quiet in a beautiful location!! The pond is large, with tons of loons which make it even more relaxing.
