This property is a conundrum. The location is wonderful, an easy walk to the beach. The three levels took getting used to, but our teens loved having a more private space in the basement game room, and bedrooms were removed from the main activity on the quiet second floor. Amazing to find a place with 5+ bedrooms! The
kitchen was awesome to cook in with seating for 15-20+.
Hot tub clean and working.
I liked having two tables in the main area: the smaller one was perfect for the continuous game playing happening.
16 people including toddler and infant and we had enough space.
Cons:
General vibe of the place is that the property management does an excellent job keeping it clean and well stocked and the owners don’t give a sh-t. One (??) chair on the deck. I wrote about it prior to our stay to see if we needed to bring our own camp chairs, and property management confirmed yes there’s one chair. We brought our own! Weird! We bought some in case they’d reimburse us and they said no. Foosball is broken. Air hockey is propped up with a two-by-four board. Carpets are stained and even bath rugs (easy to replace!) were stained. Matresses were soft/ kinda saggy. No view as advertised (as a fellow host it takes 1 minute to update pictures on a listing!!)
Because it was clean, kitchen was very well stocked, and towels and linens were crisp and new our stay didn’t feel demoralizing. Otherwise we would have felt duped- it’s a pricy place and the complaints don’t take much money to fix!

Convenient. Well suited for multiple families.

Pros: nice location, hot tub
Con: not as the listing described at all. The view from the deck is non existent. There were 2 chairs to sit outside and one was broken. I even messaged asking about chairs for the deck and was told they would look into it without any response. The deck also seemed very unsafe- there were no kids with us but if there were we would not be comfortable with them on the deck. Overall I would say it was definitely not worth the high price and some TLC is definitely needed to make the house close to what the listing shows. It would be a fine house if the price better reflected the current state of the home and updated pictures showed the home now / accurate pictures of the view. Also- highly recommend that chairs be put on the deck.

The home is older, but comfortable. All essential appliances, dishes, pots and pans were available. There is a Safeway supermarket just a half mile from the rental. The beds were comfortable and accommodated our large group. It's location was ideal. The beach near the property was lovely and many other beaches and attractions are nearby. While there were some water views, you really don't look out on the ocean.

It was a beautiful place to stay and cook with my family of 12 adults and it was a very convenient location with a 5 min walk to the beach and close access to Lincoln City hot spots/Casino.
There were several maintenance issues we kept discovering throughout the house that were very annoying, but we ultimately didn't let them impact the overall stay.
Ex: There were 2 large ceiling lights in the bottom room that would not turn off despte me feeling pretty confident about turning off lights at this point in my life. With 2 people sleeping down there it was very annoying. Messaging the host resulted in a useless "check the nearby wall" tip, and then I received no follow-up after notifying them that of course that's the first thing I did. I'm not sure if the person I was messaging had actually been to the house. I eventually discovered that there are some battery powered light switches that must have gone out.
Throughout our stay we found several small maintenance issues that anyone would have discovered if a normal maintenance walkthrough would have been completed.
The kitchen was wonderful and provided a great entertaining and board game space for many people.
I'd give it 5 stars if the maintenance issues were fixed, but overall they were mostly comical and I'd stay there again.

The house has ample room for gathering together as well as plenty of space for seeking room for separate activities. Very nicely furnished, and comfortable beds (although it’s always a good idea to bring your own pillow wherever you stay). Fully stocked everything. Friendly communicative host. Beach access close at hand, although not quite as close to the sand as the pictures allowed me to believe (my mistake, not a misrepresentation by the host). The neighborhood apparently has a 7pm noise restriction, which we tried to honor. Still, something to keep in mind if you’re at all a noisy bunch.

excellent stay, able to accommodate everyone, and had a great time in the game room! Lots of stairs, but got a good workout!
Thank you.

The home was spacious and beautiful. Everything was well stocked. We had a great trip.

Pros: Lots of dining seating on the main floor (which is the top floor-not a problem as long as you know what you are signing up for), loved the mid-century modern decor and the stained glass, great location close to the state park beach access. Bathrooms, kitchen, etc were very clean.
Cons: The deck is rotting to the point where it is absolutely not safe, especially if you have small kids (we didn't) The lower deck is rotting, railings are falling off around the hot tub, with exposed nails where they've attempted to be repaired. There's soft spots and holes in the floorboards. The upper deck is a bit more sound, but the railings are also rotting to the point where you can wiggle them easily with your hands. We did not trust them to lean on them, and I'd hate to imagine a child running to the rail in excitement and having it give way.
Also, most of the deck furniture is no longer there, there's nothing on the ground floor and only 5 chairs and the tables on the top deck. But maybe that's good because seriously, I'd avoid using the deck as much as possible.
The rest of the inside felt a little tired. The pool table needs new felt, the blinds and windows didn't consistently function properly, and the cold air intake filter (visible thru the vent) was filthy.
It would still be a solid 4 star if it weren't for the decks, but both are about 5 years overdue to be torn off and rebuilt. Careful adults will be fine, but absolutely skip this one if you've got kids.

This is a very nice sized house. The location is very good with a very short walk to the beach. Safeway, Walgreens and the casino right down the road.
Plenty of bathrooms. We had 3 families (related) that had 6 adults and 6 teenagers. More than enough beds. The basement game room is great (though kids these days prefer their phones).
The kitchen has everything you should need. Everything worked well. The main room has lots of table and countertop space and plenty of seating. Great for game night!
The ocean view is the only criticism. Pictures and title of the property will leave you a touch disappointed. The view is fairly limited.
But I’d stay here again!

The VRBO was perfect for our family's needs and allowed everyone to come together to celebrate the lives of our parents in a meaningful way.
The great room and kitchen area were the heart of the rental, providing ample space for everyone to gather and share stories and memories. We were able to display picture albums and posters of our parents' early days that added a special touch to the occasion and made it even more memorable.
Thank you for providing such a welcoming environment for guests. I hope that others consider this VRBO rental for future family gatherings or getaways!

The hot tub was unavailable during our stay which was the main reason for renting this property. It would have been helpful to know this upon booking as we would have chose somewhere different. We were notified it was unavailable after it was too late to cancel . There was several dirty dishes in the cupboards etc that had to be washed before using and mold growing in the bathroom around the windows. The air hockey table is not stable and is being held up by 2x4’s . Our overall stay was good but the hot tub was a huge disappointment.

This property was very clean and accommodating for our people and purpose. Our only disappointment was that the hot tub (one of our top three reasons for choosing this property) was not available to us.

From start to finish, this home was perfect for our family as we celebrated our mother, our sister, our friend. Clean, very relaxing, plenty of room and the game room was a hit!

Had a great time. House was close to the beach. Huge house with plenty of room for our family who wanted a getaway family vacation.

Pelican Reach
Great house, but 3 flights of stairs to get to the main level was too much. No view of the beach really, which isn’t the fault of the property owners. Neighbors trees are very tall. Overall great place though. Huge kitchen and living area. Bring dish towels, we only had 2 for 5 days and dishes for 9 people.

perfect for our big family
Upon arrival the house was lovely. It was spacious, clean, and room for everyone. We did have a few mishaps with our stay that were not ideal, although communication was prompt and precise. The management made sure we were taken care of and that was appreciated. We will definitely come back again!

Great but there are maintenance issues.
The home was clean and very nice. There was plenty of room for all of us and the layout of the top level was perfect for entertaining. However, there were some maintenance items that were not good considering the cost of the place:
The refrigerators were off. It took a long while for them to get cold. The upstairs freezer formed an ice mass and was leaking all weekend. The downstairs freezer was working but the refrigerator was not working properly. The refrigerators need to be on and working when guests arrive.
The toaster took 10 minutes to toast. Small appliances need to be updated as well as the cookware. There were not enough pans to cook with.
The bathroom sink drain in the one suite on the second level was broken. It barely drained at all.
The light switch for the game room was missing a battery pack. We couldn’t turn the light off.
This battery light switches were very confusing. When you are trying to turn on the light and you can’t figure which button to push (in the dark) was a pain. I had to use the bathroom light because I couldn’t ever figure out how to turn on the overhead light in the bedroom. User instructions would be helpful for us older, technically challenged people.
Instructions are also needed for the television setup. There are TV’s in nearly every room and only two appeared to be working. Instructions are need for operation. Even the tech savvy couldn’t get them working.
Bed room suite on level 2 east bedroom didn’t have a window lock. Safety concern.
We adhered to the no noise advisory, but the folks in the brown house across the street kept half of our household up for most of the night.

Plenty of room for 8 adults and 8 kids. Great separation, but also good open communal areas. Kitchen was well stocked. Couldn’t ask for a better location….steps to the beach!

This is near but not on the beach. It was great! We would definitely stay here again. The guys loved the game room in the basement and we had everything we needed.

The house was great for our group. Plenty of room for everyone, especially happy that we could all sit around the dinner table together! The game room was also a hit. The location is good...close to the beach and to grocery stores.Like a couple of other comments, the heat situation leaves a lot to be desired. The master bedroom stayed absolutely freezing all weekend while the other rooms were very toasty. My husband and I both had to wear full on clothes...pants, sweatshirts and socks...to bed in order to even stay kind of warm! It was like camping! Other than that great weekend!

Grand kids was extreme allergies and found a lot of dust and dirt on throw rugs. Not sure if rugs have ever been cleaned top and under. The stairs were really dusty. Couch (hide-a bed) in lower and upper seemed to be broken (did not use). Floors very dull and double beds in rooms were very loose, had maintenance come tighten. Stove was a bit dirty and no batteries for the TV remote upstairs as well as no cable on TV downstairs. Had rented this place around 11 yrs ago and was surprised compared to then how unclean it seemed to be. All is all rented for one last gathering for family with husband who has Lewy Body Dementia so was nice stay / memories.

You could not get more than one person on the wi-fi. The spa smelled gross!(one day was all ours noses could handle. We let it covered after that). The kitchen faucet was falling off the sink. Also, there is a family of racoons living under the bottom deck. Don't leave food in coolers outside or they might steal it!! However, the home handled our family of 23.

It was less than a 5 minute walk to the beach. The home was large, well-equipped, and in great condition. There were plenty of beds for everyone, and the home felt comfortable yet upscale. The three levels allowed for separate time, but the common areas were large enough for everyone.

Great location
Lots of stairs in the home. Disappointed in the game room. Pool table had no cues that were usable. TV not hooked up.
Toaster was a fire danger. Left one we were able to get at the Goodwill store. Master bedroom and bath were really cold, but the east bedroom on the 2nd floor was overly hot. Not able to control the temperature.

Perfect property for a family gathering.
Our family spent a wonderful Thanksgiving by the beach. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed to make a Thanksgiving feast. The “kids” (all 21 and over) enjoyed the game rooms and the proximity to the beach. This is an outstanding property and we will be back!
It is a three story home with great room/ kitchen on the 3rd floor, bedrooms on the 2nd, and game rooms/bunk beds and laundry at ground level. The only concern we had was the lack of window coverings on the 2 first floor windows makes for a slight privacy issue at night.

This is the 2nd time I have rented this home and it was just as I remembered it. I love the three levels. You can be up on the top floor having a nice conversation while the kids are on the 1st floor playing games and making noise and you can not hear it from the 3rd floor. Lots of space to have group activities or a family reunion. Walk to the beach was short and easy. The only issue we ran into was the wi-fi was really weak and the cell service is bad for some carriers. But overall we loved it!
