Welcome to The Purple Palace, an early 1800's Victorian home situated in picturesque Ellicottville, a charming town just 51 miles south of Buffalo, New York. Ellicottville was voted the Best Ski Resort Town between New England and the Rockies by Ski Magazine.

Location, Location, Location...This home is the closest rental property to the downtown four corners (Washington and Jefferson). It is the perfect place for your ski or golf vacation.

Just a few steps to downtown and less than 1 mile to both Holiday Valley Ski and Golf resort and Holimont ski resort. This stately Victorian home is set amidst an enclave of mature trees. It has recently upgraded appliances along with Wi-Fi and AC throughout the home.

It is in a fabulous winter/summer resort town. After skiing all day, take a break and get to know the village's shops, many fine restaurants, and cultural centers. Relax on the deck and or go for a short stroll and walk the streets of downtown Ellicottville. Enjoy having a pint at the 'Gin Mill', off to 'Dina's' for dinner and then of course go dancing the night away at 'Balloons or Madigans'. Experience the charm and unhurried lifestyle of Ellicottville any time of year. The area is renowned for its hiking and there are many miles of mountain bike trails.

We had stayed here a couple years before but didn’t love the cleanliness of the house but decided re rent it due to the amount of people we had and the location. This was a huge mistake. During our first night we were awoken by bats flying in our faces. We contacted the host and he said he didn’t know what to do and disconnected. When we called him back he stated he would give a refund if we found another place. The next day he did not contact us until afternoon and told us we needed to leave and that we would not be getting a refund from him but had to figure it out ourselves. This place is disgusting and filled with bata and the owner is extremely rude and un helpful. I would rate this a negative rating if I could. I do not recommend at all.

We had a get together for a friends weekend at this place. Lots of sleeping areas for a large group, great outdoor deck and yard area for being outside, and prime location to walk downtown and enjoy Ellicottville!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Purple Palace for our annual ski trip with our friends! The house worked wonderfully for our group of 5 families. It's great space with a lot of amenities and an amazing location. We really enjoyed all the eclectic decor and even made a scavenger hunt out of them for the kids to find. In addition, the game room was a big hit among our entire group and we even had a dance party in the nice open space between there and the living room. We appreciated the wonderful shower pressure in the bathroom off the kitchen which felt so great after a full day of skiing. We would definitely rent again!

Loved the house and location. The house is massive and packed with character. The distance to the village of Ellicottville cannot be beat. We will pencil it in for a future stay. Two of the bedrooms were very current and modern with one being very accessible (no stairs). The only drawback was that one of the bedrooms did not have a real wall and you had to walk through to get downstairs. Overall loved the house.

We stayed at The Purple Palace during my brother Williams wedding at Holimont. I choice the house based on the amount of bedrooms/bathrooms and the proximity to the Main road in town. We had several people with children and I wanted them to be able to walk right to town and not have to worry about getting in a car. The weather was absolutely amazing 80 almost every day we were there! We were not expecting that. The fire pit was awesome each night. We just grabbed wood from Tops on our way into into town. There was plenty of space for everyone and so many cool items throughout the house to look at. The welcome party at the Banq was awesome and so close to the house. The wedding was absolutely perfect and Sunday watching the bills game with family of the bride and groom was so much fun. Especially since the Bills won big! It was great to have so much space for everyone to feel comfortable. Only downfalls was there were no closets. Since it was a wedding and we all dresses and suits on hangers that was a problem at first. We made do with the hooks in the foyer and and in the back of the kitchen. Also, I made butternut squash lasagna and noodles for the kids and the oven was smoking pretty good on Thursday because something wasn’t cleaned from the previous users. I would absolutely stay there again!

This old house is in middle of the town. Could not enjoy as a cottage. Not enough supplies for our stay. We have to buy from the local grocery. Some of the windows doesn’t open. Over all, we did not enjoyed enough.

Eight senior citizens had a wonderful visit to the Purple Palace. There was more than ample sleeping spaces, comfortable deck for chatter and laughs and great table large enough for plenty of raucous card games! Our main concern was the staircase to the second floor from the kitchen. They are steep and narrow with a slanted ceiling close to the top step. The railing along the second floor allowed one of us to grab ahold of and hold on to until a knight in shining armor came to her rescue! We all shudder to think what might of happened if he hadn’t been there in time! The front porch was a nice place to relax and watch the world go by but awkward that we had to walk out the side door and down the sidewalk to get to it! The location to downtown is excellent but loud with large trucks and traffic zipping by.

Great spot. Lots of room for everyone to relax. Close to the slopes and to downtown to walk for dinner. Beds are comfortable and kitchen well stocked including 3 fridges. Highly recommend this spot. We have stayed at a couple places but would keep this as my go to for group ski trips. See you again next year!!

We had a group of 24 adults staying at this place and had a great time. The house is quirky and beautiful, and the hosts are very responsive. The second floor, where most of the bedrooms are, got a little warm even with the A/C blasting (stayed in July), but we made it through. We got nothing but good vibes all around, despite the house being so old. The inclusion of three fridges was incredible, and we were grateful to have them. We had a great week, and would recommend this place for anyone

The Purple Palace was the perfect spot for a bachelorette party getaway! The house itself is historic and eccentric but that’s what made it different and enjoyable. There were 15 of us total and we still had more than enough room. The location is absolutely perfect since it is walking distance to everything the village has to offer. There was plenty of parking for at least 5 cars and easy access to street parking as well. Only minor complaint was that we did not know someone was staying in the third floor apartment which spooked some of the girls at night. We would definitely recommend staying at the Purple Palace to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Ellicottville!

House was great for what we needed it for. Enough room to comfortably sleep 21 people. Great spot for our party! Being able to walk everywhere was nice. The house could have been cleaned a little better before we got there. But was nothing to worry about. Overall had a great time.

We had a great time at the purple palace! The location was perfect- easy access to both holiday valley and the village. There was plenty of space for the 13 of us. The house was fun, quirky, and perfect for us! We would definitely recommend!
