I had no idea a place on the water so quiet existed so close to major cities on the East Coast. It was perfect and the house itself was as amazing as the photos

Our first time to the area and we all had a good stay with my 4 kids (27, 17, 8, 8) and daughter-in-law. The younger kids loved the easy beach access, the abundance of provided beach toys, and the cool bunk beds. The adults appreciated the view from the rear facing bedrooms, beach chairs, and the many bikes to choose from.
The only real downside were the horseflies and jellyfish which on a muggy, calm day were overwhelming. On arrival in the afternoon we went pretty much straight out to the beach with my twin 8 year olds. Within 15 minutes in the water my son was stung on the wrist by a floating jellyfish. The small jellies washed up on shore should have been a clue. My son didn't want to leave the beach and he pushed through some intense pain and tears. We all stayed out of the water from that point and began to dig in the sand. Within minutes we had all endured horse fly bites and spent a lot of our energy trying to slap them away. We gave up in about another 15 minutes and multiple bites. I had 7 welts and my kids had 5 painful bites between them. That experience almost had us give up in Broadkill beach altogether and we drove to either Rehoboth or Lewes for most days. We did try again on a cloudy windy day and had a much better experience on the beach in our backyard. We never saw another jelly so maybe it was a fluke. I relate this story because I think the level of "ruin the day" capability the biting flies have on this beach is downplayed some.

The house is almost as beautiful as the views. The amount of room was perfect for our group. There were stinging jellyfish in the water which was kind of a downer. My daughter was stung multiple times but the beach was awesome and peaceful. We brought two small dogs with us and it was perfect for them as well. The only inconveniences were the wifi constantly cutting out and the house key situation

Our stay was terrific and the house was great. I just have a few repairs suggestions — most of the bikes are in need of repair, the oar to the paddle board was broke and the shades in the kitchen and living room were not working. Other than the suggestions, it was awesome.

Beautiful home with amazing views of the bay especially from two of the bedrooms. The high ceilings made the house feel spacious. Broadkill Beach is always so relaxing. Many of the beach accesses were washed out but the beach access from this house was intact. We were able to walk several miles at a time and only see a few people. We truly enjoyed our stay here.

This was our second time staying here and we plan to return. Perfect location for our family and pets.

The house was beautiful. It had everything we needed to have a great stay. We saw dolphins and a lot of wild life. Ships and barges were in the distance the entire week. We went to Dog fish head brewery which was quite impressive. We went in April, our dog was able to come he could be on the beach with us, and that contributed to making the stay great. The bay makes for less rough water, however the water was very murky. Great place!

We were looking to find a quiet place on the Delaware shore to decompress after having recent retired. This home was the answer! Lovely home, comfortably furnished, well-equipped kitchen. We walked on the beautiful beach everyday and enjoyed blissful privacy. The owner was highly responsive to our needs. Just one thing to know. Not a problem for us at all, but because the homes along the shore are necessarily elevated, there are many steps to climb to enter the living space. Individuals with mobility challenges could find access daunting. Overall, a delightful stay in a delightful setting. Thank you!

I have never stayed in a home so close to the ocean, and this is why I selected this home to rent for our vacation. The home was absolutely beautiful and contemporary. It was completely stocked with everything we needed. Every morning I would get up and walk down a short trail to take my morning walk on the beach, it was extremely beautiful and relaxing, a perfect way to decompress. For fun We went to Rehoboth beach for lunch and explored all of the shops on the boardwalk and had fun exploring Lewes.
We would highly recommend.

My husband and I just returned from our stay. The house was so much nicer than I expected. It was finished beautifully. The views from most rooms in the house were amazing.
There is nothing like waking up in the morning and seeing the sunrise over the ocean right out the window without having to get out of bed. Easy access to the beach, which had very few people. So it was nice and private. Dogs are allowed on the beach, and that was great for our dog who loves the water. Conveniently, there was a hose that we could use to wash ths salt and sand off later.
There is not a fenced in yard, but by blocking the stairway from the deck, there was plenty of room if you wanted to keep your dog outside to dry off before going inside,
Bed and all other furnishings were comfortable. Nice outdoor furniture for hanging out on the deck watching the ocean and the osprey catch fish.
The first day we were there, the wind was out of the west, which caused the flies to blow onto the beach. But after that, when the wind shifted, there was no issue. But I would recommend bringing a flyswatter, just in case.
We were very happy with our stay.

The pictures here don’t half do this lovely property justice—the beach is quiet in the off-season, perfect for serene walks, beach combing, or stargazing. While we didn’t see any dolphins, we did see numerous sea birds and a few live horseshoe crabs. We were sad the Broadkill Store wasn’t open for the season, but it was worth the walk to see the informative, illustrated posters in the cases outside, explaining some of the things we were seeing on the sand. The views from the house are stunning, expansive enough to feel like you’re the only people around for miles. The house was just a bit chilly with the cold snap this week, but the main floor fireplace is super toasty. We were looking for a quiet place to work/rest for the week, and that’s exactly what we found at Sandcastle during our stay. The house was thoroughly stocked with anything we might need, and Food Lion was close for anything we forgot. Tips for future guests: the sunrise out the water-side windows is spectacular, but the sunsets out the square windows by the stairs are glorious! We didn’t get to try Po’Boys, but we did visit Tequila Real in Milton, and that was really good, as was Tokyo Steakhouse & Sushi in Lewes, only a short drive away. If you’re looking for a heavenly little breather from life’s stressors, you have found the right place—highly recommend! Thanks for a beautiful stay!

Myself, sister and brother in law were looking for a couple of days away with nothing to do. This house was perfect and the beach views are unbelievable. We will definitely be coming back to this house.

We loved this property! The pictures don’t do it justice. It was easy to check in and checkout. There was plenty or room and closet/storage space. In the off season it was nice and quiet in the neighborhood. We loved that their were so many things to do. We went for bike rides, played games, toddlers quickly found they toy closet, fire pit on the beach and had they decent cookware which and appliances. Plenty of ceramic, glass, acrylic, and plastic dishes to suit every occasion! Management was very responsive when I had any questions. Please note sound carries very well in this house. If you are a light sleeper with loud talking family like mine this may not be the house for you. The thermostat was also tricky with a lot of occupants. In the winter, check windows because a small draft will quickly cool the house down. The fireplaces warm the living room and main bedroom very well. Plenty of blankets and comfy pillows. We slept well in the comfy beds. Definitely hope to stay again one day!

Beautiful home with beautiful view of ocean and beach
We enjoyed the home. Although we stayed in March, cool and a little dreary, we spent 2 days on beach playing with kids and dog and spent a short day in Rehoboth. Recommend home. Downside, neighbors blasting off fireworks around midnight and other neighbors backyard a bit in shambles.

This property had everything I was looking for in a beach weekend get-away. The views from the bedrooms were incredible. The host was very responsive to questions. I will definitely be back.

Incredible Find
We’ve been to the better known Delaware beaches several times, but this was our first time at Broadkill. The Delaware Bay is nothing short of tranquil, and this house is in a perfect, laid-back spot. The view is amazing. The house itself is well appointed with comfortable furnishings and all the necessary amenities. We enjoyed spending a quiet weekend by the fireplace, gazing at the bay.

Fantastic property
This is a fantastic property. It is newly renovated, tastefully decorated, well outfitted, and offers amazing views of your essentially private beach. We stayed over NYE, and I'll be looking forward to staying again in the summer if it's available.

Perfect winter beach getaway
We (3 couples, 2 kids under 12) enjoyed four days between Christmas and New Year's at this amazing property. The house was immaculately clean, well-appointed (seriously, there was nothing we were left wanting for in the kitchen) and so cozy and comfortable. You cannot beat waking up to the view of tranquil Broadkill Beach, and the way the bedrooms/windows are situated upstairs, it's like you are floating on the sea.
We had a small hitch at check-in, but Pat was immediately responsive to solve the issue. And once inside, we were delighted to find a beautifully decorated Christmas tree in the living room, putting us right at home. Highly recommend and we'd be excited to return.

Our family beach trip
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at your home. The beach and sound were so tranquil. We'd love to return to Broadkill Beach.
Pros: Beautiful house, beach, and quiet area.
Cons:
- storage closets are cluttered
-. dusty ceiling fans and air filters
- kitchen knives are not sharp.
-. Advertised 4 bikes- 2 actually function
- Paddleboard is missing paddle
- coffee pot needs replaced
- wifi is spotty during the day but works fine in evening
Thank you again and we may consider renting your place again but feel there's a lack to attention to detail to this house.

Beautiful house with gorgeous beach views!
We booked this house during Covid and were looking for a place that was away from the crowds but that was right on the beach. The house was great and the views were awesome!
We enjoyed seeing the horseshoe crabs and other little crabs on the beach. Unfortunately, it was so hot that we were unable to spend more than a few hours each day at the beach. We also had issues with the vicious biting flies several times. The beach was not at all crowded and the walk to the beach was very short.
The house was quite spacious and the kitchen was well-stocked. We wish there had been a cabinet or two that was open so that we could put our groceries and supplies away but there was plenty of counter space. The bedrooms were big but the one we slept in downstairs could definitely use a new mattress.
This was the perfect spot to get away with the family and be safe and away from the crowds!

Nice short stay on the beach
House is beautiful and there are perfect views of the bay from the house. It was great being able to walk right out onto the beach and face the beach while sitting outside. The only hiccups were that the AC was broken on the first floor (though it was fine on the second floor) and it was very humid and hot the first night, which made it very sweaty for everyone to congregate in the kitchen and living room even with fans and windows open; the dishes in the dishwasher were not clean on arrival (seems like the cleaners forgot to run the dishwasher); and there were still coffee grounds in the coffeemaker when we arrived (again, seems like the cleaners missed this). House was otherwise generally clean. Ultimately, you can't beat having the three bathrooms in the house and great views. Also, the house is very new and spacious, with lots of bedrooms, so everyone had their own space (there were seven of us) which was nice.

Return Guest
This is our second time at this wonderful home and it has been a great place for our family to relax in a comfortable, modern house with the beach just steps away. Other than an empty propane tank, everything went off without a hitch! Highly recommend!

Need to return...soon:)
The Sandcastle was a very clean & quiet spot:) The views were wonderful and the beach gives you your own space:) My extra long weekend definitely wasn't long enough. My family needs to return and stay for a full week.

East, fun, convenient
Our family had a excellent vacation here. Pat was really responsive and helpful, the house was beautiful and the sunrise view from several rooms was hard to beat. We really appreciated the toys, boats, umbrella and chairs that came with the house and simplified packing. Bugspray is a must here though...biting flies were the biggest downside. The dishwasher and coffee machine didn't work that well but I bet both will get fixed or replaced soon.
