About this house rental
Bring your boat or enjoy the views from the land -- this gorgeous lake house has it all. Built from Cypress cut from the property, this house was home to the original settlers of the area. Fully remodeled in 2013, the 1920s charm is still present throughout. Decorated in Florida Nautical/Lodge style, the home feels comfortable and sophisticated all at the same time.
The nearby Mission Inn boasts 3 beautiful restaurants, fantastic golf facilities, and a spa -- all of which is open to the public. The outdoor and recreation experiences offered by Mission Inn Resort & Club are both diverse and unique. In addition to championship golf, the resort offers trap & skeet shooting, tennis, fresh water fishing, nature trails, a pool, playgrounds, restaurants, and more.
The house is fully furnished with a fully stocked kitchen. Three bedrooms include a master with a king bed and a master bath, and two additional bedrooms: one with a full-size bed and the other with a queen and a twin. These two bedrooms share the guest bath. The living room has a queen pull-out sofa for which linens are provided. We have a pack & play if you would like to use it (bring own crib sheet & blankets).
We do generally accept small and medium-size dogs with a nonrefundable pet fee of $200. We do not have a fenced-in yard.
Our house is a wonderful place to bring children as there are peacocks that roam the neighborhood and lots of wildlife to be seen around the property. There was no access to a boat dock on the property. Grill was not operational. The hot tub was not operational and it was dirty. The house could use a good scrubbing and updated furniture. The location was charming. We adored the peacocks!

Nice place to enjoy getting away and do some fishing would definitely recommend it

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Hosts were very responsive and helpful.
Great guidance on local attractions.
Quiet/Idyllic/beautiful location and neighborhood
Wonderful for families with children, with many toys, games, and books.
Overall needs some TLC:
- Hot tub cover needs replacement as it has failed and tub wasn’t usable. Dirty with many leaves
- Bar of hand soap or undiluted liquid soap would be welcome (liquid soap was diluted with 50% water and was quite thin)
- MBR mattress is very elevated. We’re both in our late 60s and had difficulty. Our opinion is that If steps are required, it’s probably too high.
- Check icemaker occasionally. When we arrived the spout was completely blocked with melted/refrozen ice. I was able to break up the ice and restore functionality. Appeared to be in this condition for a while as there was also a bag of purchased ice left in the freezer.
-A Keurig would be nice as guests could bring or purchase pods. This would be more convenient and flexible than with the existing drip coffee maker.
-Suggest adding contact paper to the kitchen drawers and cabinets as all were quite rusty.
-sofa in living room has cracked and split upholstery.
-Pre-stay guidance on parking would have been appreciated with address on different road than access. This was especially confusing on late night arrival with no clear driveway.
-Keypad is faded and we had difficulty initially at night reading and using it. Keys need to be firmly pushed/held until each beeps.

We stayed for a Friday through Monday at this beautiful house and it was perfect. The kids played on the swing in the front yard and we enjoyed the view and roaming peacocks! A very relaxing weekend away.

Beautiful location, quiet neighborhood, nice dining room area and double living room with lakefront views, comfortable beds, very easy check-in, easy communication with Brad and Christina by text, but cleanliness a bit of an issue.

Photos are somewhat misleading
This is the first time we have been dissatisfied with a VRBO rental. Owners need to address some cleanliness and safety issues. Hot tub was not used due to unattractive location. Kids liked the peacocks roaming the neighborhood. Sunset over the lake was pretty. Check in was easy.

Relaxing lake views
We completely enjoyed our stay! The view are amazing. The house is beautifully decorated and homey. The peacocks kept our kids entertained for hours. We also enjoyed the variety of games available and the hot tub in the back yard.

Just what we needed!
This was a perfect house for our much needed getaway. Check-in was a breeze, hosts very friendly and reachable. There are 3 generously sized bedrooms, the master with a very high, very comfy queen sized bed (use the step stool to get on the bed, trust me!). One of the other bedrooms, where my mom stayed, has a full size bed which she said was very comfy as well. There is a third bedroom with both a full and a twin bed. The "Florida Room" overlooking the lake is where we spent the majority of our time. My mom uses a cane, and had no issues moving around the house. Fantastic views all day long and into the evening. The sunsets were spectacular! Also enjoyed the peacocks walking around, the white one in particular. (although they are quite loud when they are close to the house...) Neighbors were friendly, neighborhood is very walkable/runable. Plenty of items to use in the kitchen, lots of room to spread out. Didn't use the hot tub, but it looked lovely. Would definitely recommend to anyone (and I have!!) and we hope to stay here again.

Not as clean and crisp as shown in the pictures. Not so clean we had to clean the front windows
This house was in a beautiful spot but needs some crucial improvements

Golf trip 2021
We had 7 guys staying at it was pretty comfortable. House is old, but well kept with a unique layout. Easy access to dozens of golf courses with 20-30 minutes... The hot tub worked, but it was a little dirty.

Beautiful home, beautiful location
The hosts were wonderful and unbelievably accommodating. I’ve stayed in a ton of vacation rentals in America and abroad and this is the first one I have been 100% satisfied with. The home is a beautiful redone Florida classic, with a ton of cool original details especially the vintage kitchen cabinets. The bedrooms are cozy and the AC gets COLD which is amazing and was a point of potential concern for me given the heat. Again cannot stress how happy we were here. We were in town for a wedding at mission inn and this home was a perfect place to keep a bit of distance during a weird, socially distant year.

So lovely!
The perfect old Florida escape from the city. We brought our paddleboards and dogs and ate pastries every day from the German bakery around the corner. Absolutely a delightful trip that we plan to repeat. We've already recommended this cute home to friends and family. You should stay here too. Enjoy!

Beautiful lake setting-easy to launch kayaks.
Not an overly modernized home. May want to invest in new shower heads.

Peaceful Paradise
Can’t say enough about how beautiful this place was. The home is gorgeous...from the decorations to cleanliness it definitely earned 4 stars from us. The view is amazing. My husband & son took our boat & enjoyed getting out on the lake everyday to fish. Myself & daughters enjoyed sitting looking at the gorgeous view & evening walks admiring the peacocks. If you want a peaceful no tourist town vacation, this is your place ❤️ We will definitely be back!!

Great Stay
The hosts were very responsive, the location is fantastic, and the amenities are superb.

Great match for someone who wants a home instead of a hotel at the lake.
The property is as advertised. The owners were extremely responsive and very friendly. Although we only had two of us, there was enough room for a family. The wifi worked great because I had to work from the house and I never needed my wifi. The view is wonderful and one can enjoy a long walk to the local bakery. They make coffee every bit as good as Starbucks. Ofcourse, the lake is great too! We will return.

Unplug and Connect to Nature
This charming home was perfect for our little getaway. The house has a wonderful view of the lake and surrounding trees. It has lots of space of 3 bedrooms and 2 baths and holds so much character and is beautifully decorated. We loved fishing, riding our bikes and visiting some of the local town restaurants and cafes. Definitely a place to return to when you need a recharge and connection with family.

We had a great experience the location of the house is very convenient to shopping. restaurants and turnpike so you can be in the Orlando area with in 45 minutes or so and then view was great and a quiet neighborhood we are looking forward to going back. The best kept secret in the best little town!
An awesome place to stay! The house is beautiful in every way- peaceful, clean and relaxing. Wake up, eat breakfast outside and enjoy a gorgeous view of the lake. Perfectly located on a quiet street, be sure to bring your bikes, scooter and fishing pole! Lots of quaint places to explore. My daughter and I had a wonderful time!

The house is spacious, and clean! We watched sunset every night and it was stunning! We enjoyed watching peacocks in the neighborhood. The location of the house is convenient. We love the Yalaha Bakery so close by the house!

Beach House stay in Yalaha
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was fairly clean and the master bedroom mattress was comfy. One of the things we are sticklers about is good water pressure for showers and they were perfect. Our guest however were a little more picky or maybe observant. The number one complaint was that the beds were too small and uncomfortable and that the spiders and comb webs outside the entrance were a nuisance. I would love to rent the house again however I am hopeful that we could have larger beds for the other bedrooms.
Thank you for the stay at your beach house

Cottage feel. Beautiful view of lake.
The six of us celebrated my dad's 90th birthday in Yalaha. The house was about a mile away and worked perfectly. Enjoyed a nice kayak ride over one day.

Great location for what we were there for.
Place was nice and clean on the inside. Loved the character and colors of the decorating. Nice layout/floorplan of the home, we enjoyed all of the dining and living areas. Appreciated having laundry facilities to use throughout the week. Had fun watching the peacocks outside each morning!
Outside could use some work, hard to see through all the dirt and cobwebs on the windows.

Very quiet and convenient.
View was of lake Harris, right out front window. Close to bakery and just a short Uber to Tavares. Basics there on arrival and comfortable beds. Will return.

Peaceful relaxing month in Yalaha!
This was a great house with a lot of charm and space. My husband and I enjoyed our time there so much. From the Yalaha Bakery to the little community church, such a quaint area. My husband enjoyed the location with easy access to several boat ramps so he could fish a lot of different lakes. I had some excellent kayaking runs, as well. Christina was great to communicate with. We will be returning next year!

Very Peaceful
Nice Old Home Very Relaxing Time. Master bed comfortable a little high to get in and out of but comfortable which is more important to me. I would make a suggestion though, the dining room table benches and chairs being stained was a bit yucky to sit on but a towel over the top of them took care of that. We would visit again and will bring family next time. Thank you again

Great atmosphere!
We loved the kitchen with all the available things to use for cooking! The lake was great. My mom and aunt thoroughly enjoyed the peacocks. The bed was comfortable and I slept well.

Our family of nine (including two young kids and a dog) spent 4th of July weekend at the "HaHa" Lake House. It was the perfect getaway for us.
The house was very clean and comfortable all around. The beds were plush and supportive. The couches were comfortable and arranged to have fantastic views of the Lake. The kitchen table was plenty spacious. We cooked numerous meals in the kitchen and had everything we needed.
As great as the house is, the real gem is the stunningly beautiful neighborhood on the Lake shaded by majestic live oaks. There is plenty to do in the area, but we just wanted to take strolls along the lakeside, watch the hawks, peacocks and other water birds do their thing, go for bike rides in the surrounding hills, and sit out on the bank watching the sunset.
Christina and Brad were great to work with, as well. They were very responsive and easy to communicate with, not that we needed to talk all that much. The neighbors are also pleasant and easy to talk to.
As for things to do in the area that I would recommend: Visit the Yalaha Bakery early and often. Go for a sunset bike ride. Check out the town of Mt. Dora. On our next trip to Yalaha I would also try some fishing on the lake and a trip to springs in the surrounding areas.
All in all we had a great stay and would definitely come back.

We were looking for a close to Leesburg home with a view. We found it here on beautiful Lake Harris and only 10 minutes from Leesburg. This relaxing cottage style home was an ideal place to hang out during our visit to the area. The owner was very responsive and accommodating to our needs. They included tips on where to go in the area including the Yalaha Bakery. If you like bakery products and German style sandwiches, this is your place to visit within walking distance from the home. We were lazy and drove twice for the food and bakery snacks. I found myself enjoying the baked goods while staring through the large picture windows looking at the lake. We plan on being back next year.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this house. Beautiful views, great places to walk amongst the beautiful trees and we appreciated how the owners kept the integrity of this charming 1920's house. We loved sitting in the sun room and watching the sun set every night. Old Florida at its best.

A very nice spacious home and nicely decorated. The view of the Lake is amazing. Loved taking walks along the quiet, beautiful tree lined street that runs along the lake. A very big lake! The variety of birds from peacocks to cardinals, ospreys, was fun to see. It was a great location for our trip. Pretty direct to the airport, not far from a supermarket and family we were down to see. It was nice being able to go to the Mission Inn for a swim in their pool. A really pretty area. We would definitely like to stay at the house again if we are in the area and will recommend it to others.

We had a Fantastic 9 days in this lovely lake cottage. The view is spectacular, and very quiet. It would be a great place to write a novel! We enjoyed lunch at the Lakeside Inn, and a pontoon boat tour of Lake Dora and the Dora Canal. If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle....this is the place!

This place was perfect for our needs. We were in town to watch our daughter play in a golf tournament at Mission Inn. It was less than a 5 min drive, so it was very convenient. We found the cottage to be completely relaxing, very nicely decorated, and so enjoyable. We had a lot of downtime, so it was a great place to hang out before and after watching the golf tournament. We highly recommend this place.
