About this house rental

Bring your boat or enjoy the views from the land -- this gorgeous lake house has it all. Built from Cypress cut from the property, this house was home to the original settlers of the area. Fully remodeled in 2013, the 1920s charm is still present throughout. Decorated in Florida Nautical/Lodge style, the home feels comfortable and sophisticated all at the same time.

The nearby Mission Inn boasts 3 beautiful restaurants, fantastic golf facilities, and a spa -- all of which is open to the public. The outdoor and recreation experiences offered by Mission Inn Resort & Club are both diverse and unique. In addition to championship golf, the resort offers trap & skeet shooting, tennis, fresh water fishing, nature trails, a pool, playgrounds, restaurants, and more.

The house is fully furnished with a fully stocked kitchen. Three bedrooms include a master with a king bed and a master bath, and two additional bedrooms: one with a full-size bed and the other with a queen and a twin. These two bedrooms share the guest bath. The living room has a queen pull-out sofa for which linens are provided. We have a pack & play if you would like to use it (bring own crib sheet & blankets).

We do generally accept small and medium-size dogs with a nonrefundable pet fee of $200. We do not have a fenced-in yard.

Our house is a wonderful place to bring children as there are peacocks that roam the neighborhood and lots of wildlife to be seen around the property. The Yalaha Bakery is in walking distance of the house and has live music on Saturdays from 11 to 2. The house is conveniently located just 10 minutes from grocery stores and restaurants.

Other Area Activities
Located in Central Florida, Yalaha is sequestered from, yet convenient to, the world's most famous theme parks and attractions in Orlando. In addition, Yalaha is surrounded by an assortment of activities and nature experiences that complete any vacation.

Our children love visiting the town of Tavares, only 15 minutes away by car or boat. There was no access to a boat dock on the property. Grill was not operational. The hot tub was not operational and it was dirty. The house could use a good scrubbing and updated furniture. The location was charming. We adored the peacocks!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Hosts were very responsive and helpful. Great guidance on local attractions. Quiet/Idyllic/beautiful location and neighborhood Wonderful for families with children, with many toys, games, and books. Overall needs some TLC: - Hot tub cover needs replacement as it has failed and tub wasn’t usable. Dirty with many leaves - Bar of hand soap or undiluted liquid soap would be welcome (liquid soap was diluted with 50% water and was quite thin) - MBR mattress is very elevated. We’re both in our late 60s and had difficulty. Our opinion is that If steps are required, it’s probably too high. - Check icemaker occasionally. When we arrived the spout was completely blocked with melted/refrozen ice. I was able to break up the ice and restore functionality. Appeared to be in this condition for a while as there was also a bag of purchased ice left in the freezer. -A Keurig would be nice as guests could bring or purchase pods. This would be more convenient and flexible than with the existing drip coffee maker. -Suggest adding contact paper to the kitchen drawers and cabinets as all were quite rusty. -sofa in living room has cracked and split upholstery. -Pre-stay guidance on parking would have been appreciated with address on different road than access. This was especially confusing on late night arrival with no clear driveway. -Keypad is faded and we had difficulty initially at night reading and using it. Keys need to be firmly pushed/held until each beeps.
