Unique, beautiful, excellent service!
The only thing that was not perfect, the temperature in the cottages was on the warm side.

Everything, the basalt pool in particular was bliss
Waiters could be more up front about the cost of the wine pairings with dinner. (roughly £80 per person)

Stunningly beautiful property. Staff was exceptional, attentive to all needs. We loved the snowmobiling excursion they booked for us. The meals were perfect, one of the best parts of our stay.

A wonderful and picturesque hotel with amazing staff! Fantastic room with access to a hot pool, beautiful scenery in the middle of the nature with horses around. The dinners were also a highlight of the stay, absolutely delicious!

Unique stay in Iceland in a beautiful setting, impeccable service!
Should be robes instead of hooded towels for the thermal pool and no conditioner in bathroom.

our stay at Torfhus felt like a real retreat, it was quiet and the rooms were beautifully designed and cosy. The outside hot spa was a real treat. staff were very attentive and the chef created a wonderful culinary experience each evening. although it’s priced at the top end it really is a stay we will never forget.
it is remote so you need a car
4.7
Unfortunately, we are very disappointed by the quality of customer-service, since Torfhus insisted on us paying the total 3-nights stay for 2 rooms although we couldn’t reach the retreat by car since the streets were closed by the authorities due to heavy snowfall and winds. There was no solution offered at all. This is not the service we expected from this retreat. All other hotels on this roundtrip end of Dec. 22 throughout the south of Iceland cooperated with the unforeseeable weather conditions perfectly. What a beautiful country.

We have stayed in this wonderful retreat for 4 nights, everything was perfect, the service, the food, the turf house, the hot pool, and it’s really excellent location for observing the Northern Lights which we have seen in all the 4 nights we have stayed in.

The service was amazing, rooms / cottages were very private, hot tub was great. The dinner was absolutely fantastic- some of the best meals we’ve ever had. we ended up eating there all 4 nights in a row. Very minimal
light pollution that allowed us to see the northern lights 2 nights in a row 1 the courtesy phone calls from the staff advising us the light activity was well appreciated. will definitely be back her again and highly recommend it to all!

great location and so pretty, excellent staff and food
very expensive. rooms are great but small and have no wardrobe or anywhere to put your clothes. hot tubs are great, they should provide a robe though.

Everything, exactly what we envisioned. Guest service member Helig was awesome, woke us up to see the Northern Lights. Food and drink were 5 star.
Nothing, everything was perfect.

The warm welcome from lovely team member Claudia who instantly makes you feel at home. Its simple luxury, understated and charming. The individual houses are fully equipped with anything you might need but wont, the beds super comfy and I must say I’ve never slept better.
Cant fault it at all!

Beautiful place, lovely architecture and decor. Great service. Food was fantastic . The private outdoor pool was really special. Claudia and team were very welcoming and helped organise a great excursion for us to the nearby glacier, and packed us some delicious homemade bread and soup for the day. A great stay, we hope to return soon!
