Had a great time at this property. Very comfortable for 3 couples. Wonderful back yard and gardens to relax in and enjoy. Location was great for Sonoma and Glen Ellen wineries!

Overall, we had a great time at this property. The setting & the landscaping were unsurpassed. The views from this house were incredible. This is truly an amazing retreat if you want to get away for a while. Such a bonus that the Benziger winery was right across the street. We loved playing bocce ball and we barbecued hamburgers for dinner one night. Although we were looking forward to using the hot tub, it did not work. That was really the only negative to this house. A great VRBO!

Glen Ellen Gem
Stayed here summer of 2021 and loved it so much, we wanted a repeat in 2022. Thank you for opening your home to us again. We loved the quiet, the beautiful grounds, and being able to spend quality family time together in sunshine, serenity and Sonoma perfection. The pool was enjoyed daily, as was spending time in the evenings around the fire (found that purple pillow I left last time!) and making yummy dinners on the bbq or in the well-stocked kitchen. Also loved various spots to relax and unwind - whether stretching near the roses, playing bocce ball, or reading on one of the outdoor sectionals. With our gratitude!

Wonderful home and the outdoor Soave and views are simply phenomenal. We enjoyed the pool, the bocci ball court, the ping pong table, the trampoline, had s’mores around the fire pit, ate plums from the trees. Ventured to Jack London Park that is right up the street. The only recommendation I’d give is for more screens on the windows. I love to have fresh air at night when it cools down but without screens upstairs a few bugs got in the house. The property manager Claudia was very sweet and responsive. She hustled to get the house ready for our last minute booking and even had it ready a bit early. Very much appreciated. Would gladly return for another stay.

We had a great time in Glen Ellen and the surrounding areas. The home is as described and the property is beautiful. The views are beautiful and my boys loved playing on the bocce ball court.

There are some things that need to be addressed
This property was premium priced so I expect a completely premium experience. Generally it was fine but not up to the price. Examples: The Direct TV in the family room had parent controls on it for every channel and no one knew how to work around them. We figured it out but on our own. The Direct TV in the master bedroom never worked. The grill is barely functional and needs to be repaired or replaced. The driveway gate needs an interior control pad to open it. The only way you open it is with a car, which is crazy. The balconies need to be power washed, they are very dirty. There are a bunch of remnants from the owners in the closets and other areas that need to be put away elsewhere.
At the price point at which you're operating attention to detail needs to be meticulous. And it's not there. The property manager is not the one to blame - she's great.

Glen Ellen Dreaming
We had an amazing long weekend at the Glen Ellen property. I can honestly say this place exceeded expectations. The grounds and views are spectacular. We literally rushed home each afternoon to hang in the outside gardens, play Bocci Ball, ping pong, and listen to music by the firepit. We grilled out one night, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Our experience was great, and hoping we can return again soon. Side note, Glen Ellen is an adorable town. Jack London's and Glen Ellen Star were both fantastic!

Celebrating friend’s 60th
Our stay at the home was wonderful. The outdoor living area was our favorite. We sat outside around the fire pit after our day of visiting wineries. Would highly recommend the property to anyone visiting the area.

Beautiful Home and Property
The house was beautiful and the outdoor living space was amazing with gardens, activities and a view. The only issue I might point out is the summary of the listing said "walking distance to Glen Ellen" not sure I would agree with that given it would be on two lane road with no shoulder.

Wonderful oasis in the Sonoma mountainside. Beautiful gardens, poolside, and stunning views.
We really enjoyed our time in Glen Ellen at “The Ranch.” Thank you to our hosts for a memorable stay. Your home is beautiful, well-equipped, and held everything for a 5-star vacation.

Perfect stay in Glen Ellen
We cannot speak more highly of our stay in Glen Ellen. The home was spacious clean and comfortable with soft beds and linens. The updated bathrooms were lovely and chef’s kitchen a joy to cook in. The outdoor area was dreamy! The pool was so comfortable and the gardens incredibly lovely. We can’t wait to come back!

A beautiful and private wine country retreat
We had an excellent time staying at the London Ranch Retreat. It was beautiful, very clean and private. Our favorite part of the place was the outdoor area, pool and view. It was spectacularly landscaped and the design was thoughtful. It was a perfect house for three adult couples. Three separate sleeping areas with private bathrooms (not all en-suite, but each bedroom has a bathroom) made it a good fit. It was in an excellent location for wine tasting and recreation - walkable to Benzinger and a short car ride to Jack London State Park. Glen Ellen is a peaceful wine country hamlet.
The pictures in the listing do not reflect all of the rooms or outdoor spaces in their current state (better than pictures).
There were a few minor things that could have used attention around the house but I am sure they will be taken care of as the property managers were very responsive.
The only thing I would have added to the stay was more poolside lounge chairs and patio furniture for the balcony, and some blankets for chilly nights around the firepit.
I highly recommend this home for the quality and location. It was a very nice stay!

Amazing grounds
This property has incredible grounds. There's a great lap pool, kids tree house, large trampoline (with net mesh around it), bocce court, gorgeous flowers and plants, and three different lawn areas (with turf grass) for picnics, etc. There was even a garden with ginormous squash. The view was also incredible, and the property is very quiet and private. The rooms are spacious and the kitchen was well stocked with cookware. The property manager, Jerry, was very friendly and helpful too. All good things from him.
The points off are for a few items. One, the spiders. Sooo many spiders inside the house. The house could do with some heavy duty cleaning and/or spraying outside so there aren't so many. Two, the guest shower upstairs broke on Day One, then some brown sediment came up through the pipes on Day Two. Three, the tile floor in the downstairs shower was incredibly slippery, to the point of being almost dangerous. I was very happy to not have fallen. Four, the hot tub was never hot. It wasn't even lukewarm. It was cold the entire time, so that was a bummer.
As nice as the house and grounds were, if I'm going to spend a pretty penny for a vacation, I'd like to not encounter quite so many issues.

Simply the best
We had an amazing time with our family and can't wait to go back! This house has the best of both worlds: gives you the feeling of being completely remote but only 10min away from Glen Ellen. So many things for kids (and adults) to enjoy from jumping on trampoline, to exploring the tree house, grilling S'mores on the fire pit or just chilling by the pool. Counting the days till our next visit.

Glen Ellen Retreat
Great experience all the way around. Booked for a week to get out of the SF fog. The location (IMO) is the best in Sonoma. Fantastic Glen Ellen Market, Jack London State Park and wine tastings all within walking distance. The walks are up or down hill depending on where you’re headed. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The pool, bocce, fire pit, trampoline and outdoor speakers we all used daily. The house was exactly as advertised. I’ve rented 2 dozen homes in/around Sonoma over the years and have never had an “on call” concierge like Jerry. He was helpful upon arrival and assisted with the removal of some overflow garbage that we had produced by the middle of the week. Side notes: One bedroom was being converted from a kids bunk room to a more polished queen bed room. No problem for us but double check if the bunks are important to you. WiFi was solid. Four adults working online and two kids on iPads and it kept up. Would absolutely book again.

Modern jewel hidden in the wood with spectacular views
The Owner description of the house was 100% accurate. Lovely secluded location yet near Glen Ellen town restaurant and amenities. House is next door to Benziger Winery and Jack London Park.

Caveat Emptor
Having visited Glen Ellen and the surrounding areas regularly over the years, we have learned what to expect relative to price. This home is priced as a luxury home.
However, the owners have misrepresented it in a number of ways, one of which has been corrected since our stay.
The good:
The location is absolutely fantastic. Jerry, the property manager, was delightful and responsive. The grounds are beautiful and well landscaped. Our granddaughter loved the trampoline. The pool was nice.
The bad:
Much of the budget-quality furniture was dirty and stained. The blinds in both the master and guest bedrooms were broken. There were dirty socks under the master bedroom chest of drawers.
We ran out of water the second day. Jerry responded to our call, reset something in the well and showed our son how to do it if we ran out again. It was obvious that the previous renter had had the same problem.
The kitchen was swarming with ants. A mildew smell permeated the annex. The base of the outdoor shower was loose.
The totally unacceptable:
The house was listed as having internet and wifi, with the implication of high speed needed for the AppleTV. This was simply not the case. Three of four cell phones had no signal. Worse than the lack of connectivity, however, was the three owners’ handling of the situation. During multiple calls with owners, there were denials of responsibility and feigned ignorance of the problem.
The listing has been updated to note that connectivity is “spotty.”
Here's the deal, when you go camping you’re totally cool with ants, dirt, lack of connectivity, etc. When you book a listing advertising luxury and pay for that luxury, however expectations are high. This place falls well short of those expectations. There are places nearby for half the price that go out of their way to make guests feel taken care of, whether it's leaving a bottle of wine as a welcome gift or other little gestures of hospitality. Our experience leads us to believe that this is simply an investment that the owners made to maximize their return, while cutting every possible corner at the customer's expense.

Exactly as advertised...maybe even better!
We had an outstanding time at this beautiful home with another couple. Peaceful and private with a gorgeous pool and view, we enjoyed drinks on the deck daily. Made excellent use of the terrific kitchen with a Wolf stove and oven. Easy access to the Sonoma Valley and two minutes to the Market in Glen Ellen. Loved having a sound system that could provide music inside and out and access to the fresh fruit and veggies in the garden-I think in just a few more weeks there will be fresh figs. The manager was most welcoming, responsive and helpful-thanks Jerry and Ranjit! I look forward to coming back!

Family Holiday - Best Trip Ever
The home is modern, clean and spacious. Granparents, parents and children had a blast. We stayed in for dinner each night, utilizing the fully equipped kitchen. Even in December, we were able to have appetizers and wine on the patio. It's an easy drive for a hike in Jack London State Park. It's a short, moderate walk to Benziger winery, which had a really fun tour experience. The downtown Glen Ellen is charming - easy to get in/out of nearby grocery store. Kids had a blast in the tree house, sand box and trampoline. The owner checked in on us and the property manager was available at all times by text/call, lives 4 miles away. Looking forward to going back in the summer, when it's warmer to swim!

Just perfect
We couldn't have thought of a better place in Glen Ellen/Sonoma. The location is amazing - right next to Jack London Park and our favourite Benziger winery. The house is very well staged and well done with great high-end finishes. The property itself is gorgeous and charming. There is plenty to do for adults and kids alike. We also appreciate the hospitality and responsiveness of the property manager Jerry. We cannot wait to go back!

Great Wine Country Home
We had a very nice stay in this beautiful and peaceful wine country home. The house is in an elevated position, with great views over the valley. Good pool and Bocce court, as well as a kitchen garden. The house is located only a few minutes walk from Jack London State Park, which is a hidden gem for hiking and running. Inside, the house is very well appointed, with comfortable and modern furniture and fittings. Lots of space in the master and double bedrooms upstairs. The third bedroom is huge and serves as a very effective bunk room for kids. All the bathrooms and the kitchen are like new. Great Wolf range for cooking and a BBQ outside. Plenty of towels, extra linens and a good washer and dryer. 3 TVs, with DVD and Apple TV (easy to log in to your Netflix account). Both the owners and the property manager were very responsive, flexible and helpful. Highly recommend.
