About this house rental
Floataway Cottage is a pristine, incredibly elegant, four-level ocean view home with private plunge pool. The cottage is a three-minute walk to Olive Way Beach access on East Beach and is one of only a handful all wood boardwalks to the beach. Each Beach is the only beach on St. Simons that can be used during high and low tide.
The cottage features seven bedrooms, seven and a half baths, and sleeps 16.
A gated courtyard with grilling area and private plunge pool welcomes you to our home. Inside, a large foyer greets you and has elevator service to all four levels. The second floor has four bedrooms and a casual living area with a workspace and desk that seats two. The third floor features a spacious great room, well-equipped kitchen, and a dining room that can accommodate 16. A large balcony is off the dining room. The first of three master suites is on this floor.
The fourth floor completes the home with two additional master suites, one which looks over the ocean and has a private balcony. A morning bar and keeping room separate the two suites. The surprise of the home is a large roof deck which has stunning views of the Atlantic and features seating and dining for the entire family.
The lower level has a game room with a ping pong table and access to a garage.
The cottage has a total of seven bedrooms and seven and half baths. The 2nd Floor has four bedrooms, three with queen beds, and one with two twin beds. All have private bathrooms. The 3rd Floor has a master suite with two queen beds and a private bath. There is a half bath on this floor. The 4th Floor has two master suites, each with king beds and private baths. All of the master baths have separate showers and tubs.
The entire house has wi-fi, each living area has a television with dvd players and six of seven bedrooms have televisions. There is a whole house audio system with speakers on all floors including the roof deck.
There are two laundry rooms, one on the second floor and one on the fourth floor. The plunge pool can be heated for an additional fee. Bikes, beach chairs, and beach towels are provided for your use.

This house was fantastic for our group. We had two to a room and slept 14 with no problem. The home had beautiful decor and furnishings and was fully outfitted. Highly highly recommend!

It was so nice to stay at this property. Close to the beach and restaurants. The home was very clean and accessible with all the convenances of home, especially the kitchen which had all the utensils, pots/pans and dinnerware you need to cook your own meals, even spices! The views from the rooftop patio were super nice with a nice ocean breeze at night. The host, Paul, was very responsive and very nice to work with. Would highly recommend this property for your stay at St. Simon Island!

My extended family (grandparents, adult children, and grandchildren) first stayed at this property in June 2023 and had such a great experience we immediately booked it again for June 2024. Our most recent stay was just as great. The house is the best equipped vacation house I've stayed in, from the kitchen to the bikes and beach gear. It's impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, and has everything a large family could need for an excellent trip. It's just a short (3 minute) bike ride to the beach and a smooth easy bike ride to all the island restaurants and shopping. The owner, Paul, was extremely responsive to a few questions we had on our trip. Love SSI and love this house! Will definitely book again in the future!

The rooftop deck, the ensuite bedrooms, the organization of the kitchen(a label for everything), and the beauty of the decor, and the location were just great. The property proved to be better than the pictures. High end finishes, beautifully appointed, wonderfully stocked. Perfect location to East End beach.
Paul was super accessible. We had a refrigerator issue upon arrival but in 3 hours on a Saturday afternoon we had a new fridge!! He can work magic. Highly recommend Floataway for your SSI stay

No detail is left to chance at this property. The ground floor includes an outdoor, small lap pool and grill as well as an indoor ping pong table, a dozen beach towels, and a wide wheel beach utility cart for taking gear to and from the beach, a short walk away. All seven bedrooms include television sets and private bathrooms. The main level includes not only a well-supplied kitchen with generous kitchen equipment (such as a griddle, a coffee maker, an electric kettle, a blender, pots, pans, and bowls) but also an open concept eating area and sitting area. Both the second and fourth levels boast a washer and a dryer. An elevator services all four levels. Families and friends cement their best memories at this home.

We have stayed in many vacation homes and this was far and away the best in terms of cleanliness, layout, and convenience. It’s a gorgeous home and has everything that a big family group needs for a fabulous beach vacation. The host was a great communicator as well. We are looking forward to returning next year!

Eleven women (high school friends) gathered for our annual reunion. Floataway was a perfect spot to connect, eat good food, and explore the beautiful area. The home is exquisite, super clean and has so many luxury amenities. There is plenty of room to spread out and enjoy fellowship or privacy. This was a fun exquisite well appointed home. The elevator was the best for husband and father's challenges with stairs. We rented a golf cart to drive around town and easily parked it the garage.
Many fabulous restaurants and fun stores within minutes. Easy walk to beach. Great for a large group. The owner has a nice reading collection that I indulged in. Had a great visit to nearby Jekyll Island also.

Floataway is even better than advertised. This home is spacious, beautifully appointed and incredibly equipped. The owner was attentive and checked in regularly but we honestly did not have any difficulties to resolve. So many memories were made this week, It was hard to drive away on departure day. . We hope to return again someday!!

Floataway is a gorgeous home, beautifully decorated and fully stocked with pretty much everything -- including beach chairs, beach towels, and bikes. It is hard not to have a wonderful time there. The pool is small and actually in the front of the house -- but that didn't stop our group from using it every day. And most of it is under cover, so we even swam while it was raining. It's a several minute walk to the beach, but a nice public access is just a few blocks to the left if you want to drive. Do NOT use the Olive Way access to the right. Wet and buggy, and sometimes almost inaccessible. Overall, our stay was very, very enjoyable.

This house was amazing! We had 12 adults and a 3 month old baby. We all had our own bedrooms and bathrooms and having an outdoor shower was a great feature. We will definitely stay here again in the future!

Perfect Getaway
We were an extended family of 12 ranging in ages. The house had everything for everyone - plenty of beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms, living space and rec space. We enjoyed the ping pong table, the heated pool and the bikes - something for everyone. The house is nicely located near the village and a short walk to the beach.

Women Retreat
The overall process and stay was truly a blessing. The property and pictures online were accurate. It was very clean and dust free; sheets were fresh smelling which is a plus (I travel alot and that is rare). Learning to use the elevator and to locate the sensors were challenging but the property manager was available and attentive by communicating and responding quickly. Definitely a win. We had an awesome time.

Great Place to Stay on St Simon
The house is as gorgeous as advertised. The owner was so amazing during the pandemic planning and re-planning of this vacation.
We had 9 adults in the house at different times & everyone had room to hang-out, nap, play cards, etc.
For anyone looking at accessibility - this house was an excellent choice for us. It is not wheelchair accessible (bathroom doors were too narrow) but it was very accessible to someone who had mobility challenges. We brought our own shower chair for one of the walk-in showers.
We loved the location - just a block off of the beach. The younger adults with us took full advantage of the pool and the rooftop patio - they really appreciated the darkness of the area and being able to see stars so clearly.

Loved the house
We loved loved this house. We have stayed in a few VRBO but his was the best we have ever stayed in. The house is beautiful very clean the beds and pillows are super comfortable. We loved everything about this house. And Paul is amazing. He responds to your questions immediately. The area is also amazing.
