It’s great! The beds are comfy, plenty of towels and everything you need in the kitchen. The porch is my favorite part. We’ll be back.

I brought my teenage daughter and friends. Check in/out was easy, house was clean and the Mid-town location and porch were great for enjoying the day!

Our stay was beautiful. From the cottage to the weather. Every day was memorable, and I will definitely be returning to Michael's comfortable cottage!

My family and i arrived much earlier than the allowed check in time, we wanted to make the most of our trip. We were provided with a safe place to leave our belongings until our check in time, meanwhile we explored the town. Unfortunately due to unforseen weather conditions, we were forced to extend our stay an extra night. Michael was very helpful in extending our stay and even applied a discount. My family and i enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.

The house was very clean and had lots of extras like plenty of towels, soap, shampoo, coffee, etc. It only had a small space heater, so a little cold at night in December. Lots of blankets, though. We only used the queen size bed and it was good. Some noise from the street. Very friendly and helpful check in/check out experience. We would stay again!

This house is quaint and in a great location, within walking distance to both Vons and shopping/restaurants. It is a bit dated inside but the front porch is great. The neighbors were all nice. Michael was a very good landlord and reached out in case we were coming over early or staying later.

Cute small cottage, everything we were looking for. The small kitchen and bathroom let you do everything youd expect. If you have hopes for something other than a cottage youll be disappointed, but ill be booking with these folks, over the hotels weve used here over the years, from here on out.

This was our second year at the cottage. And again we had a great time. It’s a great location, close to town and the beach. The grocery store is a half block away.

5 stars across the board! Cottage was cute, quaint, and clean. We really enjoyed playing UNO on the porch at night. It’s Near shops and boardwalk. It had extra towels, blankets, pillows, toiletries, game boards, cable, etc I mean everything you could think of this cottage had. The Host was amazing, very pleasant and Easy to communicate with. We will definitely make this our place to stay when we go back to visit Catalina!

A good place to stay in Avalon. A little noisy but centrally located

If you are looking for luxury accommodations then Sumner Cottage is not for you. If you are simply looking for a place to crash and get cleaned up after you have spent the day exploring the island then look no further. Although Sumner Cottage is in need of some serious TLC, the price is right, the bed is comfy, it has all the basics, has a relaxing patio, and is in an excellent location. Everything is within a short walking distance and Vons is just down the block. Our host was attentive and quick to respond to questions.

We enjoyed our stay in Catalina. The front porch is where we spent most of our time… people watching, talking, eating and playing games. Loved it!

I have been coming to Catalina since I was 5. When it comes to staying in town, you have to remember that this is a beach town first, deeply rooted in the 1920's when it was a resort owned by the Wrigleys.
The property is a few blocks up from the beach with the Vons grocery really close by. It has a great front porch with plenty of seating to watch the locals and other tourists move about.
The inside has a small galley kitchen area, a dining table and a living room with a couch and a queen-bed. Another room in the back has a full sized bed.
If you take the place for what it is.. A quaint, timeless cottage/bungalow for you to unwind and regroup after a day of touristing Catalina, then you will be very happy with this place. IF you aren't used to Catalina, and are expecting an upscale resort, hotel or other 5-star place, you are missing the point....
A family of 4 or a pair of couples will do great here. Catalina should honestly be experienced this way. Rent this place and enjoy.
-Cheers.

We've rented this property every spring since 2011. Comfortable cottage.

Cute house: could summarize as “ rustic”. Walk to downtown. It was a bit noisy at times, construction next door. We were out all day so not an issue. Would recommend for a short term stay

We enjoyed our stay at this property. Kitchen is definitely as small as it looks, but makes it easy to quickly navigate in the kitchen. House is on the older side, and furniture fits the bill. Every time someone sat down on the futon, I thought they were going to crash to the floor. The art is eclectic, which matches the area, but the sand face mask in the kitchen is a little creepy. We very much appreciated that we could leave our luggage someplace until the property was ready for us and until our boat arrived.

Although this house was small, it was absolutely perfect for us! It was close to everything and fit us all comfortably. We had one small issue with the toilet, but the manager addressed it immediately! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Location is great and so is service. Owned by the Seacrest Inn. Right near Vons, central and walkable.

We loved the place. It is in the center, but out enough to be quiet. The place is a bit rustic, but I expected it with the price and was totally OK with everything. The patio makes this place! WE loved it and spent most our times outside watching Avalon go by. We are already planning a return trip in the near future.
