About this house rental
You will discover T.P.'s Place on the east shore of Torch Lake. The home is set on 100 feet of shoreline at the end of a gently winding drive. T.P.'s Place was custom built to focus on comfortable living and the beauty of the lake. Stunning sunset views over the lake can be enjoyed from almost every room of the home.
The vaulted great room is the center of this home. It boasts a one and a half story ceiling with a natural stone fireplace giving it the classic Northern Michigan feel. Upstairs, the master bedroom suite offers a private bath with soaking tub and access to the balcony overlooking the lake. This home has all the amenities plus the private Torch Lake waterfront you will love.
Torch Lake is ranked one of the most beautiful lakes in the world with crystal clear water and a stunning aqua blue tint reminiscent of more tropical climates. The lake itself is 19 miles long by about 1 1/2 wide. It offers access to extensive recreational boating on 'the chain of lakes' which includes: Lake Bellaire, Grass River, Clam Lake, Torch Lake, Torch River, Skegemog Lake, and Elk Lake. This navigable water way totals some 65 square miles beautiful scenery. Fishing opportunities include, Lake Trout, Bass, pan fish and in 2009 the State Record Muskie was caught in Torch Lake. The Torch Lake sand bar is a popular anchorage at the southern tip of the lake. This unique feature offers boaters the perfect location to swim, play Frisbee, volleyball, or just enjoy relaxing on the boat. The Grass River and Skegamog Nature Preserves, the Villages of; Bellaire, Alden, and Elk Rapids are all accessible by water and provide extensive hiking, shopping, and dining opportunities.
Shows, festivals, restaurants, and shopping are available in Traverse City, Charlevoix, Petoskey, and the Leelanau Peninsula, all within an hours drive. Mackinac Island, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Beaver Island, and a variety of lighthouses are a little further but well worth the trip. This home is perfectly situated to provide access to all the magnificent beauty that Northern Michigan has to offer.
Note: We will be finalizing our 2016 calendar and start taking reservation at the end of this season, August 2015.

What a wonderful property that accents beautiful Torch Lake! It is perfectly appointed with every possible item to make your trip trouble free and comfortable!! I VRBO a number of properties. I would rank this special property at the top of the list!

Beautiful location right on the lake. Big enough for our group. The house could use a new couch as it peels off onto skin/clothing/floor when sitting on it. Also could use a good clean as a toy rolled under the couch the first day and had lots of dirt under it. We found empty water bottles under various pieces of furniture throughout the house. The base boards fall off if its bumped and the kitchen floor has a soft spot/hole right in front of the fridge. The dryer takes multiple cycles to get small amounts dried. The driveway was grown up on both sides and hard to get a boat trailer into. The house would be perfect with a little TLC

Its a lovely place and would have been an absolute stunner in its day. A lot of unique features. The layout was great. Our family of 6 adults and 2 children never felt crowded. Of course Torch Lake is always fantastic and the views from here were wonderful. Would recommend. You cant use the dock for your boat, as high winds come up and you'll notice every house has a boat lift.

This was our second stay here, and it again did not disappoint. The home is a perfect "up north" lake house with plenty of room and good furnishings in a great location. Plenty of space to spread out when indoors.
It's only minutes to Bellaire. The dock is great and the water is obviously crystal clear in true Torch Lake fashion. The family found tons of Petoskey stones right on the shore even.
We will stay here again!

My family and I rented this house for a week this year. Out of the dozens of similar places we've rented over the years, this is our favorite. Torch Lake is obviously beautiful, and this property has a ton of waterfront. But the house is a perfect "up north" house with everything you could want, nicely appointed and decorated, and so much room for our family to spread out. We loved it so much we've booked our return trip next summer!

We had a great time at TP's place on the lake. The downstairs space was perfect. The kitchen is well-stocked. Bedrooms were nice. We rented a boat from Butch's marine so we enjoyed exploring the lake. We also really enjoyed the open water swimming from the dock. Fun week!

Owner responds quickly. This home is perfect for a summer getaway. Quiet, convenient location, and a beautiful shady yard with plenty of outdoor seating. Awesome view of Torch Lake and a dock to swim off. The beds are very comfortable. Plenty of bath towels, beach towels and kitchen accessories. Do not be concerned about not having air conditioning, plenty of lake breeze and cross ventilation. Plus ceiling fans and floor fans. Lots of parking space in driveway, we parked 2 full size pickup trucks and a boat no problem. We have been renting vacation homes twice a year for 20 years and were 100% satisfied with this beautiful home and property.

Excellent property, spacious, clean and comfortable.
Location on Torch Lake is unbeatable. Shallow water around the dock is excellent for kids to swim, etc. Views of lake and sunsets are unsurpassed. The house is an older one, but extremely comfortable. Wifi is surprisingly capable. Plenty of amenities. Perfect rental for families and owner is easily reachable and accomodating. Highly recommend.

It was an awesome property very quite an secluded.

This location is best for teens and adults as there is no sandy bottom beach for young children. There are neighbors, one who likes his music amplified beyond his hearing, the others quiet. There is a lovely green area between the home and the lake providing a play area for the young children. The home is well outfitted. Appliances are newer and work well. The furnishings are pleasant and clean. The only problem we had was that the garbage was not picked up as scheduled and there was no place to put garbage except outside and the wildlife would tear open the bags. There are two bedrooms on the upper floor and a third room that overlooks the lower living area and is open providing good ventilation but not a lot of privacy. There are two bathrooms upstairs, one attached to a bedroom that has a bath only. The hall bath has a shower only. There is a bath on the first floor with a small shower. There are two twin beds that can be set up for overflow bedding. There is outdoor furniture with mats for comfort kept indoors. There is a picnic table for outdoor dining. There is prime TV on the main floor. There is a gas propane grill for grilling. The property is well maintained.

Our family really enjoyed the house and the location was excellent. We would highly recommend this property and plan on returning in the future.

This house was everything we wanted and more for a quiet escape at torch lake. Besides the obvious advantage of direct access to the lake, it was super close to Bellaire, continent for dinner and shopping, and the glacial hills for biking and running. 11/10. Hope to come back sometime soon!

This home was wonderful. The location on the lake was perfect. A boat launch was just down the road. Easy to get to. The back yard was a perfect size for family games and the deck was great for viewing the lake or just sitting with the family. Plenty of space. We had two families and plenty of beds and room. If needed to get ahold of Kim she was available at anytime. Helped with any questions we had. She was amazing. Always on top of things and made sure we had everything we needed.
I can not recommend this place enough. So worth the 11 hour drive. 😉

Great house on the water, very quite and comfortable. All basic amenities included for a comfortable stay. Newer finishes are nice, more upgrades will definitely improve the overall experience.

This property really undersold itself. The view of the lake was perfect. The place was well above our expectations and the price was just right.

Had 2 familes here 8 total people with plenty of space. Like I said above great dock to lounge on as well as boat lift. All the common areas have good views to the lake, would be nicer if less trees were in the way. Interior is dated but has charm to it. Kim the caretaker was very prompt to respond to any questions and home was super clean.
