Ideal Vacation
When I pictured a French manor in the countryside, Cleronde is exactly what I imagined. A beautiful property with the most lovely homeowners. Gwenaël and Elodie were amazing hosts telling us the history of the property and taking such good care of us. I also recommend you request a private chef at the home for one night - it was a special evening. Five star stay!!

A delightful stay at a wonderful property.
Everything about our stay was excellent. Our rooms were spacious and furnished lovely. We had access to a sitting room with a fireplace and enjoyed our dinners there enjoying the views of the property. We enjoyed our conversations with the hosts and they were very helpful with suggestions and making arrangements for us. We look forward to returning with other famil members.

Beautiful manor
Beautiful manor with gracious hosts! It exceeded our expectations in every way. We really enjoyed learning about the history of the manor. The breakfast every morning in the beautiful dining room was a treat that everyone in our party of 11 enjoyed and the lovely living room was the perfect spot to have a glass of wine after a long day outdoors. Highly recommend Manoir de Cleronde!

This manor exceed all expectations!
What a rare find! This property has been in the owner's family for over 200 years, I only wish we had allowed for more time to spend at the manor. Gwenael went out of his way to make sure our family had an enjoyable stay. I strongly recommend the option of hiring the private chef for a dinner. After a long day of touring it was lovely to cozy up to the fire and be served a delectable meal. Our entire family of 6 adults and 3 children raved about our experience and didn't want to leave.

Great for multiple couples!
Gwenael made our stay in Normandy a fantastic experience. While out in the country, it was convenient to all the D-day sites.
Loved the uniqueness of the individual rooms and the grounds made for easy morning walks. Having the chef come in and prepare our final night dinner was a real treat. Great job in renovating a 17th-18th century property.

Wonderful Manoir in Normandy
This is a beautiful manoir in Normandy and near the D Day Beaches area.
The Staff and manager could not have been more accommodating. Our group of six chose not to drive and the manager recommended an excellent driver and guide for our entire stay in Normandy. Although not a bed and breakfast the breakfasts and two nights with a chef were more than worth a little extra cost. The manoir is near the beaches so we were able to see more each day. The manager was prompt with replies to questions. The experience is so important to have a good guide.

Wonderful Country Manor
Cleronde is a beautiful manor set in a serene location. Gwenael, the owner, was a superb host. He gave us a tour of his property and told us the history of the land. We had private dinner at the location and it was wonderful. The manor is very close to Omaha Beach and other historical sites. This truly a great place to stay!

What a magical place!
We had an absolutely lovely stay at Manoir Cleronde. Gwenael and Elodie were gracious hosts throughout our stay. Gwenael provided over-and-above assistance with a problem with a tour guide we had engaged on our own. He didn't have to help, but his advice was very useful to us. The manoir is stunning, and well sited for tours of D-Day sites, and Bayeux is a short drive away. Gwenael made some great suggestions for restaurants, and of a cider tour that we very much enjoyed.

Beautiful property, lovely owners & staff
Really beautiful property in stunning countryside. Welcoming owners and staff - very helpful and accommodating. Great breakfasts.
Two very minor negatives ... I imagine it could be very cold in the winter. The weather was just about to turn when we were there & we started to feel the cold. Secondly, we had a problem with flies and wasps in the bathroom. I’m sure the owners will resolve it in due course.

Unbelievable stay!
The most special spot I have stayed anywhere! We didn’t want to leave. The Manoir and its property is just beautiful. The ponds and moat with ducks, geese and swans.. so lovely we could have strolled the grounds for hours. Gwenael and Elodie were wonderful hosts. We loved our tour of the property with Gwenael - the horses, the other Manoir and buildings, the history of Germans fighting in the woods.. we had so many questions!
And then Cedric and Angelique cooked one of the best meals I’ve ever had!
Again so sad to leave. Highly recommend!

Absolutely Wonderful
I have used VRBO in France several times, all very good, but this was my favorite. The house combined the character of its origins with intelligent renovation for modern conveniences. The location makes everything in Normandy easily reachable. The extensive grounds were impeccably cared for and immaculate. One of the hardest things in renting with a group of friends as we did is finding a house with enough bathrooms for privacy and enough public space for getting together. This was perfect. The people were great too. Gwenael and his wife were both charming and helpful. They retained a chef team, Cedric and his wife, who cheerfully did a fantastic job. The woman who came in mornings to take care of things was a breathe of fresh air every morning - in all a great team. I would not hesitate to highly recommend this property, nor would I hesitate to rent it again.

Magical!
The property was stunning and the service outstanding! Great place to stay for Normandy tours. Perfect for destination wedding. Property is large enough for several couples and families. Gardens immaculate and plenty of room for a nice run without ever leaving the property.

Fantastic Country House in the Normandy
This is an awesome country house to stay near Bayeux! The house is high standard renovated completely. There are several big bedrooms with very nice bathrooms. Downstairs is has several living rooms which are very nice decorated. We stayed with a group of 17 people. For dinner you can arrange a chef and his crew to serve you a marvelous diner in your own castle dinning room! The owner is a very nice and helpful person. And the crew are great people too. I would recommend this house for groups up to 17. But you can stay with 2 or 4 as well in various rooms. Have a nice stay!

Absolutely amazing property - would recommend to anyone!!!!!
This property is absolutely incredible. We stayed for 3 nights (party of 7), and I can't express how much fun we had. We rented the entire house, and it was extremely comfortable. The property is fully renovated and has amazing character (approximately 200 years old). It sits on roughly 700 acres of beautiful property with race horses all over the property. The hosts (Gwenael and Elodie) were extremely kind and very helpful with all of our questions. They also toured us around the property and showed our kids the stables.
The hosts arranged an on-site dinner for us the first night at a very reasonable price, and it was excellent - just what we needed our first night there. The manor is only about 6 miles from the Normandy coast, so it provided the perfect home base for us all. Again, the house was amazing and can accomodate large groups - the pictures do not do it justice.
We travel a lot and like nice places to stay. All I can say is that you will NOT be disappointed!! Beautiful and charming!

Magnifique
