There was so much space for our family and a great kitchen, game room and sauna. We enjoyed the canoe, kayaks, pontoon and paddle boat on the lake and roasting marshmallows around the campfire. The host was so helpful and we really enjoyed our stay!

The house was great and very large. It accommodated to all of our needs. The fishing was great caught lots of Blue Gills, Sunnies, and Bass. The game room was very helpful for the rainy day or people who want to stay inside.

Everything was extremely clean! House and property are beautiful and very spacious. We had 17 ppl ranging in age from 3 months to nana and papa. We are already booking for next year!
We got to meet Rob, the owner, and he was super nice and very helpful.
We have been staying in vacation homes around the country for years and to date, this is the first house that I haven’t felt the need to clean before staying.
If you are on the fence about this home, all 8 adults are in favor of making this our annual Minnesota vacation home!

We had 16 family members ranging from 9 to 79 yrs old, and everyone loved our week at The Clubhouse! We grilled on the patio, kayaked and canoed from lake to lake, swam, fished, played board games, ping pong, billiards, and hide n’ seek. We had a fire out in the fire pit and toasted s’mores. The kitchen was well equipped for making our meals and even a birthday cake. The beds were comfortable, everything was clean, and the sauna was a great way to relax after a day on the lake. The location is private and beautiful. We enjoyed daily walks along the dirt roads. Summer in MN is gorgeous, but make sure you bring bug spray! The horseflies are vicious when you are unprotected, but a little deep woods Off kept them away.

The house and the property are beautiful and there is no shortage of amenities to entertain yourself with. We had a week long, small family reunion with ages ranged from 4 to 78. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves! We just wish we could have stayed longer.

We had 4 generations staying and there was plenty for everyone to do. The cabin was great and fully stocked with everything we needed.

Accommodations were great, very clean, large rooms, very comfortable, and well supplied. Kids spent a lot of time in the large game room. Boating and fun time on Clubhouse Lake. Beach was small and swim area was muddy but still worked all right. Canoe, kayaks, and row boat were enjoyed by all. The kids enjoyed the fishing.
The Minnesota mosquitoes and flies. of course, were an annoyance.

The house was great for a large group of people and everyone enjoyed their stay.

We just recently stayed at the clubhouse lake home with our family. I believe we had 15 people in total and this home is definitely big enough for that amount of people. The home is in a very private area so you will not be bumping into many people while up there so if that is what you are looking for then its got that. The kids really enjoyed the indoor games and the adults really enjoyed the space away from the kids. The owner was easy to get ahold of through the vrbo website and checked in on us to see if everything was good. Check in and check out were very easy.
Make sure you bring your bug spray. Its the north woods and its summer so you will need plenty of it to ward off those critters. The deck off the kitchen was really great, but unfortunately, we weren't really able to use it because of the attack of the mosquitos.
The beach area is a bit of a walk....nice downhill on the way there but a good burn on the way back up so if you have older guests with you just be aware.
The beach area is great and the kids had a bunch of fun. The only upgrade to the beach I would make is another dump or two of sand into the water. The first 5 feet are great but gets pretty mucky pretty quick after that.
Fishing was great and there were days we were the only ones on the lake. Overall everyone had a great time. There's also a fairly close bait shop and grocery store for any last minute needs.

The house was amazing. Rob was a great host. Rob came to help address any concerns. We were in a wilderness of forest. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our vacation. The pontoon was so much fun for all of us. Thank you Rob, we made memories! 😊

This place has everything you need and more. I liked how big it was. It’s perfect for some quiet time or hanging out in the kitchen with everyone. We were there in the winter so didn’t get to see the pond but it still looked neat! We enjoyed the quiet and nature all around.

Wow, this place was fantastic! We had a group of 10 who stayed here and everyone had a great time. Would definitely go back in the future. Great fishing around the area and it had a great backwoods Minnesota feel!

Hey, this property is great! It is huge with plenty of room for many people and many rooms to do multiple things (pool, movies, cooking, etc.).
Highly recommend the property and the owner was great to work with as well.

Wow!!! We had an amazing time at the Clubhouse Lake Home! What a unique property in the mids of the national forest! We had couple families and there was plenty of room for us all. Best appointed house with a specious kitchen and everything you could need to cook a great meal. We loved hanging out on a massive deck just outside the kitchen overlooking the ponds. Our kids enjoyed the game room and the kids bedroom with the bunk beds. The private sandy beach area was beautiful and Clubhouse lake is truly a gem! Communication with the owner was easy and he was very quick in response time. Highly recommend this lake home to anyone who wants a nice getaway!

Our family loved this lake home and the area. Prior to our arrival we red a recent negative review that made us a little concerned but we were pleasantly surprised upon our arrival in July. The home was very specious, well taken care of and truly one of a kind! The sandy beach area was beautiful and maintained. Our kids had a blast playing in the water and taking canoes to the connected lakes via small creeks. The host was very responsive and called us prior to our arrival to ensure that all our questions were answered. We highly recommend this truly unique lake home.

Off the beaten path. Great area to explore.
The place is out of the way. But streams lead to many nearby lakes by kayak few people around. Kids had a lot of fun catching pan fish , sandy beach allowed floaty toys. Relaxing porch.

This VRBO Is Like a Box of Chocolates....
At the time we reserved the Clubhouse it was listed as a 6 bedroom home, which our family needed. It was later changed to a 5+ bedroom. The (+) bedroom is a twin bed in a walk-in closet. If we had known this in advance we would not have rented this house.
The Owner was not responsive to our questions and changed our arrival & departure dates without notice.
Two weeks prior to arrival the Owner sent us a Short-Term Rental Agreement. We encourage renters to see the agreement prior to making any advance deposit.
Days prior to our arrival, the Owner reported that a new zoning ordinance having to do with the septic system prohibited him from renting the Clubhouse to groups over 8 people. He asked that we cancel our reservation through VRBO and pay him the rental amount in cash upon arrival. He said he would charge us a reduced rental amount if we complied. We did not comply with this request.
We arrived to find beds unmade and the laundry was not finished. Our family did the laundry in order to have enough towels and bedding for our stay.
The home has “lakefront access”, however, the lake is located 200+ yards away and across a gravel road. The beach area is small and unmaintained.
The pontoon rented from the Owner was delivered a day late and was covered with leaves and twigs etc. No efforts had been made to clean it up prior to delivery.
The “golf green,” is a grassy area with standing golf flag. Leave your putters at home.
For firewood, the Owner provides a pile of ruff-cut logs along with a small axe. Be prepared to chop firewood.
The color of the water in the Clubhouse is a rusty yellow orange. The kitchen fridge water filter was expired and the Owner could not provide a replacement.
Many items throughout the home were in need of repair included in a cracked entryway window, many missing window screens and difficult sliding doors.
Unexpected people came on property without notice, including the septic company to pump out the sewer and other folks that came to dump their trash in Clubhouse dumpster.
Despite these challenges our family rose to the occasion and had a memorable stay. The lake was very private with lots of wildlife and spectacular sunsets.

Cabin stay
The place was memorable, we had a great time and everything was nice but I felt like we were always being watched... (they were staying/ fixing the garage next to the cabin) I did not like that feeling. We would see the workers pop out of no where looking at us. And I do not recommend a party of 20 ppl, as listed on here. He had called me the day before about his concerns of hosting 20 ppl.. There was no gas in the propane, we had to go grab it ourselves. There was still trash in the trash cans and laundry stuff (towels/bath towel rugs) was not washed, it was piled up in the laundry room; we had to wash them ourselves. Blankets were not clean either, they smell.. Probably won't be coming back unless there's new owner.

North Woods Retreat
Nestled outside of Chippewa National Forest is a luxe cabin that can accommodate all your friends (and enemies!). Rob was an extremely attentive host leading up to our stay, and the amenities came as advertised. Fantastic stay, great service, solid water pressure, and a rumpus room dedicated to hours of horseplay. My group and I plan to return for a summer visit, so that’s a solid “would recommend this product.”

Fun and relaxing weekend!
The Clubhouse was an awesome place to get away for the weekend. Rob was a great host and was very responsive during our stay. The house was super cool with tons of rooms and amenities. The area itself was peaceful had plenty of lakes to explore. Highly recommend taking the Pontoon for the weekend and taking a dip in the water (during the summer!). Thanks for a great stay Rob!

Large well-stocked home, excellent host
This property is very remote. While there are other cabins/homes, for the week we were there we almost felt like it was our private lake. The home is large and well stocked. We spent mornings and evenings on the deck overlooking the feeding pond. It was quiet and serene. Rob is a spectacular host and quickly resolved our one small request.

Perfect for large family gatherings
This is a terrific location for large gatherings, with a beautiful lake close and plenty of seclusion. We enjoyed taking hikes, enjoying the lake, and everyone loved the game room with ping ping, pool, and darts.

Great Up North House
We had a total of 3 families stay for a week and loved the house. Overall is a huge property and had great space for our party of 12 including 6 boys. House was fully stocked with kitchen utensils, bathroom needs, and things to do. We only needed food and the rest was provided. Given remote location this was very nice.
While not lakefront, the ponds give it that appearance off of the large patio and the distance to lake is easily walkable with a gravel road. Plenty of things to do in the game room on the one rainy day we had. Internet was reliable.
Rob was easy to get in contact with and helped us multiple times getting things or finding things around the house. Again, given remote location this was great.
Overall would highly recommend!

Thank you Rob for a great family get-a-way!

Before and During my stay.
Rob is great at responding to my messages when I have questions. The place was great and everything was beautiful. I suggest in the future, Rob should be more clear to his clients about rules and limitations before the first payment and deposit There was last min constructions/landscaping during our stay which it didn’t give us much privacy.

This property was very peaceful, private, and relaxing. Plenty of bedrooms/ beds for several families and different living areas throughout the house to allow for everyone to have their own space. The game room provided indoor entertainment throughout our stay for all ages. We also enjoyed the outdoors whether it was a short walk down to the lake, having coffee on the deck, or walking around the ponds. We often had a friendly fox that would hang around, as well as several deer grazing just outside the windows. The new owner is very friendly and responsive and has big plans for upgrades throughout the property. Looking forward to booking this property for another vacation.
