"We were looking for something special for our visit to Plymouth and we certainly found it here! The house itself is just beautiful, the listed photos, while great, don't do it justice, it's better than the photos. It is very well equipped and very comfortable. The street is quiet, but the harbor and shops/restaurants, etc are within easy walking distance. Highly recommended! Janet D, London, UK.
"We spent several weeks in the townhouse and enjoyed every minute of it! The house has an abundance of period features and comes with a fully equipped high-end kitchen. We enjoyed the proximity to a great variety of restaurants, and a bit of street life just around the corner even though the house is on a quiet street. To top it off, Robin and John were the perfect hosts, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the stay. We would love to come back!" (M+M)
From the owner:
We understand. You need a hotel but want a home. You'd like a historic B+B, but don't want to have to rub elbows with Mr and Mrs Innkeeper at breakfast. You want privacy, a beautiful in-town stay, understated luxury and comfort, a classy kitchen with high-end appliances you may not even have at home. You want room to spread out, with space to sort through your maps, guidebooks, history books, cameras and coffee, checking email via WiFi. Comfortable bedrooms, new bathrooms with granite countertops in a yesteryear 'mansion' home you can rent like a hotel so your family can play tourist without getting stuck in a forlorn motel chain. Think of it as a London-style townhouse similar to one you would rent in Kensington to visit the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Here is a lovely note left by our guests from Great Britain, 'We knew instantly when we spotted Cushman Place on the VRBO website that it was exactly what we were looking for. However, on arrival, we were even more impressed. Your extremely tasteful decor and furnishings made it an absolute delight to stay here in Plymouth. Add to that the location so close to the waterfront, restaurants, etc, and it was outstanding. Thank you so much for a fantastic rental; we will certainly tell all our friends about Cushman Place. With our thanks and best wishes'-- Steve and Jane L. UK.
Cushman Place Residence is a 2-story, 2-bedroom townhouse (with an alcove large enough for a crib), divided many years ago from a 1900s grand Colonial Revival home. It is located at the edge of the Historic District. Once part of a distinguished 6000 square foot manse (which had servants galore), this private in-town 2-bedroom townhouse is a separate, private home with its own entrance and easy parking and back garden patio area with BBQ grill and extra parking. Cushman Place living room was the formal dining room of the original manse, with its finely detailed fireplace (because of height of chimney and possible smoke backups in certain weather, we do not allow fires; we have a faux electric insert instead), crown moldings, and wainscot. Beautiful quarter-sawn oak wood floors, inspiring light from the large windows, delightful details, not the least of which is a sunlit kitchen with SubZero refrigerator and Miele cooktop and Miele dishwasher, Bosch convection oven, honed granite countertops and an abundance of quality cookware and beautiful dishes and glassware ... quite a change from your conventional lodging. You'll find a powder room under the attractive staircase leading to second floor, where two gracious bedrooms and a luxurious renovated bathroom let couples, a family, a bridal party, or space-loving singles, sleep comfortably, then foray into the exciting world of historic Plymouth, Cape Cod and the Islands.
One flight below the townhouse dining room, you can toss a load of vacation laundry into the complimentary state-of-the-art HE laundry, the LG Tromm Steamwasher, and have visions of a by-gone day, where servants scampered about taking care of such mundane tasks such as undies and lunch.
You can rent for days or weeks, enjoying amenities we today consider 'necessities' in the privacy and comfort of home. Your own front door is just a short walk to the waterfront, Plymouth Rock, whale watching, historic sites, ships, antiques, boutiques, and great restaurants, pubs, and entertainment.
Consider reserving Cushman Place as an alternative to a cramped hotel stay to see the historic sites, or if flying early into Boston or Providence for your Cape Cod vacation rental. In town too early to check into your vacation rental? We are here to jump start your vacation. As most waterfront vacation properties are on strict Saturday-to-Saturday or Sunday-to-Sunday schedules, we wanted to be able to offer our incoming guests a refuge and opportunity to explore the area if their travel plans brought them to Cape Cod earlier than the check-in day. Cushman Place provides our incoming guests a place to rest, refresh, explore, and catch up with email.
We consider it an honor to be chosen as your vacation home, and we work diligently to see that your trust is rewarded beyond your expectations. If Cushman Place Residence is unavailable, please see our other FIVE STAR listings in the Plymouth area:

My husband and I were celebrating our 14th anniversary.
So, we wanted a nice cozy, homey place to stay while in Plymouth.
That is exactly what we found. The home is beautiful, nicely furnished, and the kitchen was stocked with everything imaginable for making a meal.
It was very close to everything, and Robin was a very good host. I called her to say we would be there soon, and she left us some snacks, and a bottle of wine. Awesome, because we were starving, and the wine hit the spot.
If we ever go back to Plymouth, we will definitely stay there again. Thank you Robin

This townhouse is amazing! The photos do not do it justice. From the beautiful millwork and decor, to the well equipped kitchen-- you will have everything you need for your time in Plymouth. Robin is also lovely and a great communicator.
The beautiful kitchen is decked out with a SubZero fridge, Miele appliances and more. There are plenty of dishes, cookware and even stemware if you like. Everything was so tidy! Even though we ended up not using it, the laundry room is beautiful and spacious.
You also cannot beat the convenience of location. Walk to all of the restaurants, the Plymouth Rock, and everything Plymouth has to offer. We will definitely stay again if we are down that way!

This house is in a central location about 2 blocks away from the harbor and also the town restaurants and stores. The house is a charming 2BR that has been lovingly cleaned, decorated, and upgraded (modern appliances throughout) for your stay. All of the little things (dishes, towels, condiments, etc.) were there. It is even one of the rare VRBOs that had seemingly new stainless steel and non-stick pans. Even though I didn't cook, that was refreshing. Robin was monitoring messages for my arrival and questions during my stay. Recommended!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this beautiful home for the week. We loved everything about it! Not only is it gorgeous inside and out, it is in a perfect location - just a short walk to the harbor, shops, parks, and restaurants. So glad that we found this property - and that it was available the week we requested!!

The house itself has an abundance of period features and comes with a fully equipped kitchen and an amazing fireplace to gather around after dinner. We also enjoyed the close proximity to a great range of restaurants, and a bit of street life just around the corner even though the house is on a quiet street.

Another perfect home that Robin, the owner, rents! It is so beautiful and warm! Comfortable, great location, fully equipped and immaculate! The furniture, the high end kitchen, the decorations all make it an amazing home to rent! You can not go wrong with this 5 star plus vacation rental! I would highly recommend this property over all the hotels in the area!

This house was the perfect! You felt like you were in period time visiting one of the birthplaces of our country. Very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was a delight to cook in. Beds comfortable. Walking distance to waterfront with restaurants and all historical activities. I would highly recommend this great vacation spot. Thanks Robin!

I would like to express our pleasure with your property and our stay. The location is perfect. We had never been to Plymouth before. The location is close enough to walk to town, but far enough from the noise. There must be over 50 resturant's within walking distance. The town was fairly quite and easy to dine in during the week, but things picked up on the weekend. Plenty to do in town and within and hours drive of many other places like Boston, and Provincetown, Martha's Vineyard. The place was beautiful! It was almost too nice. The white couch in the family room was a bit scary . The pictures are acurate. The kitchen was high end and completely stacked. The owners were only a phone call, or a knock on the door away, but otherwise absent in a good way. The only small suggestion I would make is that the window coverings in the bedrooms let in the nice natural light which is great, except at 5:30 am on a vacation day. Something more substantive would have made it easier to sleep in.
All in all, a great place that I would easily recommend, and return to.

After our engagement my fiancé and I selected Indian Pond in Kingston as our spring wedding venue. We were thrilled with every aspect except the lack of nice (even so-so) hotels in the Plymouth Harbor area. Even though I was not thrilled, I booked two suites at the Radisson for three nights thinking that we could use them for my bridal party preparations and they would be good enough. Luckily, I checked them out in advance and they were TERRIBLE....stunk like chlorine, expensive, and had really old and tired decor - not really what I had in mind. My mother suggested that we check out rental houses/condos in the area and I happened upon Cushman Place in Plymouth! Robin was a pleasure to work with and I booked based upon the photos online. It actually ended up being less expensive to have more room at Cushman Place so it seemed like a no brainer. When we arrived we were blown away! I knew my wedding photos in the main bedroom would be amazing and everything else was a bonus. The whole place was ready for a photo shoot. Robin has great attention to detail with decor and the place was immaculate. We could tell this place was more than a just a rental for her -- she loved it! We were so happy to have a full kitchen and plenty of places to hang out as we got ready for the big day. Our makeup artists came and did seven rounds of makeup in front of the gorgeous front windows. My photographer had so many amazing photo locations to pick from it was hard to choose.... the fireplace, the beautiful staircase, the dining room, the main bedroom, and on the front steps of the condo (also beautifully decorated!) If you like old, classic houses with a luxurious feel Cushman Place is for you! Every inch of space is used perfectly. The kitchen and bathrooms are on the smaller side, but you don't miss the extra room. Even if you are not getting married you cannot beat the location! You can easily walk to the water and Plymouth Center.
My family and I can't say enough about how much we loved this place! Thanks again to Robin!

So my wife and I wanted to get away for a long weekend with her sister, sister's husband, and nephew. We decided to go to Plymouth because we really love the town and have some good friends there that we always like to see when we can. After looking at hotels in the area and not being overly impressed, I decided to see if there were any alternative rentals in town that we could pursue. I see a listing for this beautiful townhouse that is within walking distance of downtown and decide to contact the owner on a whim because I honestly didn't think that it would be available or that it would be far too expensive. I couldn't have been more wrong. Not only was the owner really nice and easy-going, but the place was available and actually less expensive than the hotel that we stayed in the last time we were down in Plymouth! Needless to say, we booked it and waited eagerly for the arrival of our getaway weekend.
When we arrived at the townhouse, we were very pleased with just how close to downtown it actually was, with the added bonus that there was a Dunkin Donuts in between! We walked into the place and were speechless at how stunning the townhouse actually was; the pictures, though beautiful, don't do it justice. The decor was luxury/vintage/fancy; the wainscoting and crown molding were immaculately done and really contrasted well with the color of the walls and all of the furniture and decorations had an antique, but not dusty/old feel to them (if that makes any sense). Everything 'popped' in the place and there were many focal points and views to enjoy throughout the townhouse. However, the place - amazingly - had a very homelike feel to it. We had no problem fully relaxing even though we were immersed in such opulent surroundings. We found ourselves lounging around the townhouse 'like we owned the place' because that was the type of feel that it emanated. And we certainly made very good use of the fireplace and full kitchen, which made for some cozy nights and saved us money on food because we didn't have to go out to eat 3 meals a day. We were sad when we had to leave the townhouse, but it is certainly a place that we would stay again in a heartbeat if the chance to do so arrives! If you want a weekend away, we HIGHLY recommend this property and it's owner as a magnificent alternative to your typical hotel accommodations.

We loved the house and everything that came with it. Robin had everything perfectly ready for our arrival including some extra goodies that she left for us in the refrigerator.
The house is very comfortable and very nicely decorated. The beds were exceptional and we slept well.
The location of the house could not be beat. Walking distance to the dowtown area and the waterfront. My only wish is that we were able to stay longer because we enjoyed this trip so much.
Thank you Robin for sharing your home with us and we hope to be able to make the trip up to Plymouth again next yeay.
