We were happily surprised to discover that this apartment was more spacious than we expected. The decor was eclectic and attractive. We loved the location because we could easily walk anywhere downtown and to the Western Promenade. The stairs are very narrow and steep if that might be an issue for someone. We would definitely rent this apartment again when we’re in Portland.

Spacious apartment on third floor. Beautiful space with lots of natural light. Our host was accommodating and responsive. We loved the location and walked everywhere in downtown Portland.

We had zero issues with our stay. It was easy enough, the directions were clear and easy, and we had a very pleasant stay in Portland. We look forward to coming back!

My wife and I stayed in this apartment for our honeymoon and were so happy with our stay! The apartment is very spacious, clean, and has all the amenities you’d need. The location is EXCELLENT - within walking distance of all the great shops and restaurants on Congress St. and also very walkable to Old Port. We were nervous that the fire station being on the same block would be disruptive, but we only heard sirens a few times. The apartment is quiet for being on a main road. It’s on the third floor so it’s a lot of stairs to get up to it - just something to keep in mind if you have any mobility issues. Brad was very communicative and a great host! We LOVED staying here and will plan on staying again the next time we’re in Portland!

Pros: Property was attractive and *largely* in good condition, architecturally interesting, comfortable bed, good location.
Cons: 1) bedroom rug needs a good steam clean (felt gummy), 2) bedroom window lets in a lot of ambient noise (impossible to sleep through early-morning construction next door), 3) host provided incorrect instructions on how to lock keyless entry doors (our belongings were unsecured for hours while we were out to dinner), and 4) not all of the windows have good screens so A BAT GOT INTO THE APARTMENT AND WE HAD TO GO TO THE ER FOR RABIES VACCINATIONS. Host said it must have been a sparrow, then admitted they’d had bats before if windows were left open. But there were no warnings not to open X window because its screen didn’t work or we might let in a bat! That’s what window screens are for!!
We checked out early and the host issued us a refund without complaint for the nights we didn’t stay at his place, but we lost a significant portion of our vacation, had to miss out on planned activities, and felt like crap half the time we were there thanks to this fiasco.
And we still have to dedicate time and money to it now that we’re home since rabies is a 4-part series that apparently many medical facilities besides ERs won’t do due to its complexity. Fun.
I need a vacation from having tried to go on vacation. 😣
Maybe this seems silly to some, but bats getting into people’s homes isn’t a problem you hear about where I live.

My husband and I had a lovely time here. Brad was very friendly and helpful and easy to reach. We didn’t really cook much so I can’t speak to that. There are tons of great restaurants around. The neighborhood is fun and cool. Pro tip: if you plan on sticking around town, don’t rent a car. You don’t need it and parking in Portland is rough. A large car would be hard to park in the allotted space.

Don't get duped by the pictures, the apartment is bigger and cozier than on the pictures. The bed is comfortable and the kitchen is big enough to make food. Everything is walkable except the beach.

Communication with Brad (property manager) regarding two issues were resolved quickly. Brad provided great, in person, guidance on what we should do in Portland. Thanks again Brad.

This property was extremely charming and convenient! We enjoyed using the kitchen and the bathroom/shower was in fantastic condition! We were visiting Portland during an unusual heat wave and found that the single window unit was not enough to effectively cool the apartment down so we were quite hot for the duration of our stay unfortunately. Additionally, we found the mattress on the bed to be quite uncomfortable. With the addition of a better temperature control system and a new mattress or mattress topper I would give this place 5 stars! Thank you for your hospitality!

The place is amazing. We spent a long weekend there. It’s spacious and Well stocked with everything a family will need. It’s close to everything important in Portland, and we could walk everywhere by parking our car in our designated parking slot. The host Brad was reachable anytime I had any question, He helped make our trip a memorable one. Overall I highly recommend this place to anyone wishing to travel with family to Portland.

We enjoyed a 6-night stay. Can't beat the location for visiting Old Port, Art District, Portland Head Light, and breweries in East End. Easy access to highways for exploring beyond Portland area. Guaranteed parking great but tight. Spacious apartment with lots of charm and character for 2 or 3 guests. Modern kitchen with ample cooking and dining provisions. Free use of shared laundry room with newer washer and dryer.
Would emphasize this apartment is the 3rd floor/attic of a townhome built in 1890 so first impressions of exterior and interior are not great. Husband and I are in our 50's but no problem using stairs as mentioned in a previous review. Questionable professional cleaning because of dust on decor, ceiling fan, blinds and pink mold on shower liner, but everything otherwise appeared clean. Minimal instructions from owner, and he contacted us with checkout instructions after we left.

The location was good for access to downtown. But pretty bad for a sound sleep. Right next to a fire station and the hospital.

Property was as advertised and the property manager was very responsive. My only issues were the cleanliness of the property and the barely functional toilet. The linen closet was a disaster. We didn’t know if anything had been washed. We were hesitant to sleep in bed. There was dust and cobwebs throughout the property. The shared laundry room was even worse. Piles of dirty sheets, towels, and garbage. The garbage looked as it had been there for days/weeks with the swarm of flies buzzing around. The toilet had make shift parts to keep it barely operational. At one point the wire, not chain, connected the flapper dislodged and I was forced to fix in order to flush the toilet. A good cleaning and some maintenance would have made a world of difference.

Narrow steep staircase. Very tough to pull up bag. Leak in skylight. Bat visited us at 4:00 am. At 6:00 am began tearing up street. Maybe ok for kids. Impossible for anyone over forty.

Apartment is conveniently located near the medical center, easily walkable or a very short drive to all the fun stuff. Apartment is spacious, clean, and well-stocked for your stay.
State Theatre and Hadlock Field are only a couple blocks away and plenty of shops, restaurants, bars are within reach. Even the Eastern Prom & Thompson’s Point are only a mile away (in either direction). Five min drive to Ft Williams Park, where you’ll find the world famous Head Light. There is so much to do, I seriously couldn’t find enough time in 5 days to do it all!

It is a charming apartment with a lot of wall decorations and furnishings. It is very spacious with a fully equipped kitchen and a king bed. Despite being on the top floor and temperatures being pretty warm during our stay, the apartment stayed decently cool with the numerous windows to open and a surprisingly powerful window AC unit in the bedroom.
The only thing we wished for was that it was a little cleaner when we got there. The towels were not yet fully dried so they took on a musty smell. There were sticky spots on the kitchen counter, the dishwasher was not run and was full of dirty dishes, and the bed sheets had some stains and could probably be replaced.
Brad was very responsive and easy to communicate with. Check-in was flawless. Overall it was a great place to stay for the price.

Great Location - Lots of space
Great location to walk to almost all of downtown Portland. We were able to walk to the SeaDogs game within 10 min, to Old Port within 15/20, and lots of restaurants and bars off of Congress and throughout the Westside. Top floor location provides lots of privacy, and opening the skylights made for some great summer evenings

Great property and location!
The apartment is a beautiful space and was very clean! We loved the beautiful kitchen and skylights. The location was also great - close to different attractions in Portland like the art museum and cool restaurants/coffee shops. Having an on-property parking space was also very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay!

Perfect apartment for our needs. Beautifully and tastefully designed. Property owner responded immediately to any questions we had. We had a wonderful stay, we so enjoyed sitting by the gas stove in the evening with a glass of wine. Fabulous, restful, rejuvinating stay in a gorgeous apartment.

The apartment layout, furnishings and decor are terrific. We especially loved the gas fireplace which provided warmth and ambiance; as well as the skylights in the kitchen. Every possible amenity we wanted, was on premises. Even creamer and a lactose free alternative for morning coffee (also provided.) The only downside to the apartment is that the bedroom faces the street and there is street noise. We ran the stand alone fan which provided "white noise" and helped to a certain extent.

Clean with great amenities!
Great location, very clean, and kitchen well stocked. The gas stove heater made the place very cozy. Off street parking was a great bonus as well. Would highly reccomend for your Portland stay!

The apartment was very nice and cozy. Beautifully decorated and supplied with every need!
Our host, Brad, was very accommodating and friendly!
The apartment is in a terrific area, and close to great restaurants. Try the Tandem in the next block. It’s worth waiting in line!
We wanted for nothing in Brads place. Beautiful building in a neighborhood with many resplendent quality older buildings.
We would stay with Brad when we visit our daughter in Portland any time!

Cute apt. one block from main fire station.
The listing should say "For fit, strong, young people only. Three sets of stairs straight up that you can't fit a large suitcase through. No heat or A/C, noisy, four sets of locks, old however did have some charm.

Little slice of Heaven
This cozy little loft is in a great location and it made it easy to navigate in Portland. The staircase is small and narrow, however, it is worth the climb to get to the great loft! The decore of the loft made it feel like home. It was wonderful to have our own parking space and owner was great and on top of everything.
Most definately we would stay here again when we return to Portland!

The place had character and was centrally located with everything you need within walking distance. Try Hot Suppa, it was great.

Great loft in Portland
Property is great & Brad is very accommodating & easy to work with during our stay. Property is very walk able to downtown Portland where there are tons of great restaurants & boutique shops. Would definitely book this location if it's available for future trips.
Bonus is that you can walk to a Tandem coffee & holy donut location which aren't in the old port area of town without the major cruise ship lines!

Wonderful 3rd floor loft in cool neighborhood
Brad has traveled Amsterdam and his place was wonderfully decorated in a nautical theme. Old wooden floor and charm and character abound. A well appointed kitchen and and a cast iron tub, sky lights brought in the cool ocean breeze. The stairs getting up to this fabulous space should be a consideration for those with any kind of physical limitation. They are narrow, not well lit and don’t all have hand rails. Having a parking place is a tremendous bonus.

Great hub from which to explore Portland
The apartment was perfect for this particular trip, where I was out and about quite a bit but needed a dog friendly home base. Brad was super easy to deal with and everything was as advertised. The heat mentioned by other guests is no joke, but I was in town during an unusually hot stretch. Completely manageable but a heads of to folks that may be sensitive. The stairs are steep and narrow, but it’s a walkup in an older building - again, totally as advertised. If what you really want is a cushy hotel in old Port, this may not be the spot for you. But if you’re looking for a great spot in a more unique neighborhood, especially if you’re going to be in and out of the car to go explore, this is it.

A great birthday trip
We decided to go to Maine for my birthday and stayed at the Parkside Condo. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was clean, spacious and quiet. There are many restaurants and bars in walking distance from the condo. Brad was great! The most attentive VRBO owner I have ever been in contact with. The condo is not quite close enough to walk to the port area, but it's a short uber ride. It is also very close to the airport.
A few downsides - there is no AC in the apartment. I know this is normal in New England, but not so normal in Florida, where we were from. It was also very hot when we were there so the apartment did become quite warm. There is a window unit in the bedroom which worked beautifully so luckily sleeping was fine. We weren't in the condo all that much anyway so it didn't really affect us. Second, this is a third floor walk up. He does make that clear in the listing, but it is a very narrow, steep staircase. Getting suitcases and groceries up was not the easiest task so please keep that in mind if someone in your group is not mobile enough to make that climb. Third, the locks were hard to open and lock. They just stuck a bit. Fourth, there is off street parking, but it's in an alleyway between buildings and although we had zero problems, I was a bit concerned about the rental car getting broken into or damaged. If you are just staying in the general Portland area, you do not need a car. Uber works just fine.
Overall a great experience. If you stay, make sure to check out the little Italian place across the street, Roma Cafe. It was delicious!

Great place
Clean and beautifully decorated, this place has it all. As another reviewer noted it was really hot in the apartment though during the heat wave- the tiny AC unit just can’t keep up with intense heat. So as long as it’s not crazy hot, the place is ideal.

Prime Location
Awesome location in West End with easy access to great restaurants and bars. Clean and spacious walk-up apartment was really comfortable and well-appointed. Owner was easy to communicate with and made check in/out very simple.
