My fiance and I came down, looking for a quiet easy getaway that was still in KY. We came to Hickeys Hideaway and it was amazing. We loved the hot tub, the rooms were super clean, and the views were fantastic! My fiance and I enjoyed our morning coffee out on the deck and we strongly recommend staying here! The hospitality is fantastic and we definitely plan on booking again soon.

We were so pleased with the property for our weekend getaway at Lake Cumberland. The view from the deck was amazing! The cabin had everything we needed to relax and just hang out. A little far from any restaurants so we ended up cooking more than we originally planned but it all turned out just fine.

Beautiful views of the lake, wonderful deck and fire pit to relax outside with family and enjoy the weather and the views. We had a great time grilling, sitting around the campfire, and boating. Reconnecting with my adult children is always a blessing I treasure.

Really sweet location and view from the decks and main bedroom
Only 1 Queen bed, and 6 single beds. I don't count hide-a-beds. I'm 6'6" so a queen pushes my comfort level. There is plenty of kitchen area, utensils and cooking accessories and the bathroom is large and convenient.
The upstairs half bath has a sloped ceiling so watch your head.
Small issues in the scheme of things ... dusty shelves and items near the tv ... no screens which may be best for a rental, but would have been nice in the morning. The biggest issue was the screws sticking up on the new section of deck, very sharp and made walking barefoot not advisable. I cut my foot on 1 of many that were proud of the wood. The property has million dollar views, and the rainbow we had while the sun was shining was a real bonus.
There were deer walking the hillside below the cabin, and a hawk flew past, low and fast while we drank coffee early 1 morning, a real treat.
Krogers in Somerset was tricky the way gps took us, but a nice store. We heard there is an Aldi across the street also.
We loved the stay, it was easy to book, but cleaning fees, tax vrbo fees etc doubled the nightly rate quoted on the web sight.
I had to change our start date by 1 day and that was not an issue as we did it weeks before arriving.
This unit would be tricky arriving in the dark, but once on sight, the covered porches are well lit.
All in all, a great place to explore, nice accommodations, and we look forward to coming back.
Thank you.

We wanted to find a quite spot to have family gather to celebrate my 50th birthday. The house was better than expected. It had a great view and the house was wonderfully decorated. The host went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful cabin with spectacular views! We had everything we needed for a great stay. Our host was easy to reach and very helpful 😊 We brought our boat and were able to park it no problem. There are several options for boat ramps within 20 to 30 mins depending on the size of your boat. All in all it was a perfectly lovely stay!

great
awesome, great location for boat docks, restaurants and groceries. Management very polite and helpful. Your pictures for promotion do not do the facility justice. Awesome views and wildlife. The cabin was very comfortable and the décor met the mood perfect.

Cozy home.
We really enjoyed staying in this home. The view is amazing, everything was clean, and we loved playing the board games that were left in the house to use! We did believe we could get down to the river from the backyard but the hill is too steep to go down. We drove down the street and managed to get down to river.

Great Trip!
This property was amazing! Beautiful, clean, and serene. We felt so lucky to be able to spend family time at this wonderful home. There were games for us to play, things for us to cook with, and more than enough beds. We will be returning when the weather is warmer!! Such a wonderful place to be.

Get away
What a great place to get away. The view was fantastic, the deer and wild turkeys roaming through the properties were an added bonus. The house was warm and cozy even though the temperatures were in the teens when we left.

Peaceful and relaxing
We rented the house basically because we just wanted to get out of our house for a weekend and escape the dreary winter weather. We ended up being snowed in for what was an extended stay with the most spectacular views of the mountains and lake. We had to contact the owner to inform them that we had been snowed in and we were told that considering the circumstances, to stay as long as needed. My little girls enjoyed going out and playing in the snow then coming in to the jacuzzi tub! My wife and I enjoyed the peace and quite with window views that of a picturesque postcard or Christmas card. The house was more than accommodating, with everything we needed to include a fully outfitted kitchen which help out considering that going out to dinner wasn’t an option. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of board games and pool for entertainment when the snow kept us inside. We will definitely be back in the summer to spend time on the water!

Thanks!
We needed a few days away after a very rough year, and this cozy lakeside cabin delivered. Waking every morning with a gorgeous view of Lake Cumberland eased our souls. We really appreciated that you allowed us to bring our dogs. They loved running around on the deck and watching the boats on the lake.

THANK YOU!
The cabin was so cute, had everything we needed and having the lake right outside the window gave us a total rejuvenation! Thank you so much for letting us bring our dogs with us! We didn't have to worry about them and they LOVED running around on the porch!

Lake View beautiful the house was real cute.
Everything was real nice. The boat dock was ok. The path to the dock was dangerous and I fell. I won't rent again until it is repaired.

Not as promised?
We were very excited for this vacation! Based on listing title, description and pictures included we thought that the house was waterfront (or at least very near it). We were saddened to discover that we were actually very high up on a cliff and had to drive quite a ways to get to beach access. That was the main motivator to staying at the property, we ended up paying for two extra boat days just so we wouldn't be spending most of our "water vacation" inside a house. We did find the view beautiful, just dissapointed that we were misled. There were other things about the listing that were not right...such as saying there was a garage to use (not a thing). Will just be getting a house boat next time so we can be on the water!

The greatest !!
We have been going to Lake Cumberland for 57 years. We have rented many houses in many different areas. This view was the most fantastic we have ever seen. This was a family vacation and the house was very conducive. The wrap around porch was great. Steve (the owner) could not have done more, he met our every need and was so helpful with every question we had. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this a 12!!

The best view of the lake
We had a wonderful mini vacation to this beautiful spot. And the wrap around deck was perfect for viewing all sides of the waterfront, plenty of seating as well. We even got to enjoy eating and playing games on the deck while it was raining and never got wet!

Fun COVID Safe Getaway
We were looking for a weekend getaway within driving distance from Louisville that would provide respite from COVID stay at home. The property was clean and view amazing. We went hiking at Pulaski County Park and ventured into Somerset for some growlers at Jarfly brewery (highly recommend). We are looking to come back during warmer weather to enjoy the river activities.

Delightful Stay in a less than delightful year!
Remote retreat. Gave me and my Kentucky family a great location to get together for Thanksgiving.
All online pictures were accurate and inviting.
Arrived early evening. Unfamiliar with the circle buildings - in the dark - a Good lady, Sharon Potts, living on the circle was wonderfully helpful and walked me to the house..
Would be a neighborly good deed for the owner of where I stayed to thank her for her helpful assistance to a guest who was not staying in her own rental.
Overall - had a lovely stay in a lovely house and location which made my family's 2020 Thanksgiving a wonderful memory in a stressful year!
Loved being able to enjoy my Kentucky stay and visit!

Relax in comfort
Had a blip finding the cabin, but a quick call got us looking in the right spot. The place was delightful. Comfortable and could tell owners wanted to guests to be comfortable. The view was lovely and the abundance of deer was a major bonus. Would like to experience the place again, maybe in the spring.

Great view!
Enjoyed the porch! Well stocked kitchen, very clean and having paper goods provided was a plus. Saw deer and a bear. Queen bed was OK. Highly recommend for a quiet get away.

Best view
Would have been very helpful if owner had given us information about accessing boat slip. This was the seventh house I have rented in Cumberland over the last three summers. View from the deck is the best out of all of them!!
