Location and depending on the accommodation assigned, the stay is comfortable. Daily consumables is an issue and needs to be planned for.
Not much. Some of the accommodations need to be refinished. Refurbished. Will be world class then.

Amazing surroundings, beautiful landscape and incredibly nice host. Nice restaurants in the neighbourhood that Antonio recommends. Lots of stuff to do.Very special location. Our hearts are warmed by all the good care and the stories Antonio shared with us!
Nothing. The bed was only a bit hard, but compared to the great location and all the other great plusses (bathtub, spacious room, breakfast, view, landscape, big property , swimming pool) it didn't bother us; I would definitly recommend this place to anyone!

We loved the Quinta so much and we would highly recommend it for everyone who loves nature and is seeking a relaxing holiday. The property is even more beautiful than the pictures can show. The pool is lovely and offers an amazing view. The overall atmosphere of the place is magical and so unique. Antonio the owner is a genuinely kind and super helpful person, the staff is also very lovely and served nice breakfast. It doesn’t feel like a typical holiday as Antonio and the staff make you feel so welcome as if you’d be staying with family.
It is useful to have a car there to visit nice restaurants on the other side of the river and explore the region a bit, we didn’t have one and we were fine with walking around and relaxing by the pool and Antonio was so kind to offer us rides to restaurants.
I would definitely book again because it was such an amazing stay!
There a different rooms to book, you can stay in an external little house or in the main house in a more hotel room like place, which is what we did. The room was very lovely, unfortunately the bed was very uncomfortable and you could hear almost everything the people next to you do.

The property is a beautiful farm with rooms spread out on different locations
The views of the river are amazing and the place is like a fairy tale!

It was a self catering apartment, with not 1 pot or cooking utensils supplied to cook besides a frying pan. No toaster, beds too short, bath plug stuck water couldn’t drain, fridge small and very old, swimming pool filthy, broken loungers, torn cushions, no towels, and 90 very steep stone steps up and down from the apartment to the pool with no railings for support. VERY DANGEROUS AND MISREPRESENTED ON WEBSITE ..THE WHOLE PLACE WAS RUN DOWN AND OTHER GUESTS ALSO COMPLAINED AND CANCELLED THEIR BOOKING.

The farm itself is set within beautiful surroundings. The breakfast is lovely and everything is left for guests to use. The pool is great too. Nice & peaceful location and surroundings. The owner of the farm, Sr. António, is friendly and chats to guests thus adding personal touch. Also, the BBQ is available for guests to use which was an added bonus and made our stay more enjoyable.
Unfortunately, the house was not very clean & the freezer was full of ice, thus suggesting it hadn't been defrosted in a long time. For us this was an issue as we bought food for a week but there was hardly any available space in the freezer. The fridge temperature was also quite weak and even though it was on the maximum setting, the food items were not very cold. Given the very high temperatures of above 35 degrees this also posed as a problem. Also, although the information guest book available in the house stated that breakfast could be served in the room, this didn't seem to be an option and it was certainly not offered to us. Also there are different breakfast times stated in the guest information book, thus this should be revised & made clear to guests as we remained unclear throughout our stay. Oh and no air conditioning! We were provided with 2 fans, a small and a tall one but these were not ideal given the very high temperatures. We did mention these problems to 2 members of staff but our comments were not very well received and/or resolved within our stay there. The 2 ladies that served breakfast during the weekend were brilliant and provided table service at breakfast including serving coffee and cleaning the table once we finished. However, during the week we were told that there was no table service and we had to go to the kitchen to make our own coffees in the machine. Again not very clear or consistent service available to guests. The beds are also not double, but rather in-between double & single or a very small double. The house that we stayed in was quite dark with poor natural light & the artificial light was also quite weak and some of the bulbs were broken. This was a bit upsetting as we had specially requested a house with plenty of natural light. The kitchen curtains were dirty and not properly fitted with the bain hanging....

Location, stunning scenery.
Staff appeared to be a bit out of times with how their services should be provided. Didn’t feel we were able to ask for anything as no one was around.

Beautiful, traditional Quinta with unique atmosphere. The landlord welcomed and showed us personally around. Great breakfast and a big pool facing south in the middle of the quinta. Perfect place to start trips to porto or doura valley.

Quinta De Abol De Baixo is a great property in the hilly Douro area, offering great views, nature and peace of mind just at about 45 minutes of Porto city. It's ideal for a weekend break in the country. Mr António, the host, is very warm, welcoming, a great chatter and a wonderful storyteller.
Unfortunately the property only offers breakfast meals. It would be interesting to have the opportunity to have something to bite without having to wander around, specially because the place is a bit isolated and you have to drive to get your meal/ snack. Nevertheless, it does not affect our wish to come back!
