The Italian vibe
The parking and roads are a bit narrow but it can be managed.
4.0 / 5.0
Lots of space, beautiful views, good washer and dryer, everything was stocked,
Found a bit overpriced, Lack of initial instructions and confusion, apartment was older than expected, Dishes were bit dirty, tv didn't have internet access

The view was spectacular. The bed was comfortable.
Opening the doors was necessary to ensure airflow, but without flyscreens, we couldn’t leave the doors open as insects and mosquitoes would come in. If it were any hotter, I imagine it would’ve been very uncomfortable.

Beautiful lake and mountains view, warm cosy and comfortable! Will definitely come back next year

Fabulous views of the Lake and snow capped mountains. Great location close to central Queentown. Beautiful gas log fireplace, the whole place was always lovely and warm.
Random room servicing. first 3 days were great, then nothing for the next 4 days. We understand the difficulty finding enough staff, but perhaps servicing every second day would be better.

Kitchen and laundry settings are the plus to the place. Views from the villa are amazing.
The villa is dated needs some refreshments. Lack of ventilation, no openable windows only two huge sliding doors. The heater makes the place very uncomfortable as it lacks air circulation. Not an easy driveway to get in and out, requires good driving judgments/skills.

Beautiful location and lovely views
Bed was old and a little uncomfortable

Location, views, heated floor in the bathroom was a nice touch. Close to town, free parking, warm and comfortable, quiet.

The gas heater was lovely and heated bathroom floor
We were told by your staff that it takes 20mins to walk into town but it took us 45min around the lake front and we were going at a good pace so very disappointed about the wrong information given by your staff

The view is good
Facilities are good
There was noisy music at night during my stay though it states no party policy;
Need to do room services yourself

Stunning view, very peaceful, loved the fireplace, spacious home away from home, clean & comfortable, early check-in, quick response to enquiries
Price of taxis/Ubers in & out of town was high for the 5 min trip. Daily housekeeping not available due to staff limitations however our room was serviced halfway through our stay which was handy

Tables were all very sticky.

Villa del lago is all about the views. The complex is right on the lake and the views of the lake and the Remarkables mountain range are spectacular. The unit had everything we needed and it's only a 10 minute drive from the city center.
There were many stairs to get to our unit. Over 40 steps from above and almost 30 steps from below.

great views. Accomodating staff.
Oven instructions. Had trouble making oven work.

The stunning view.
Some mould on the bottom of the main door curtains and slight musty smell when entering.
Very steep stairs and limited car parking that was hard to get into.
3.5 / 5.0
Despite being blocked by the roof of the lower units the view was still pretty good from up high on the cliff.
There were 3 flights of stairs to carry the luggage down and then up again when departing, so very tedious on a steep slope. Definitely not ideal for older couples. No mention of stairs when we booked. There was no milk in the fridge when we arrived and shops were at least 25 mins walk away. It would have been nice to make a cup of tea upon arrival after a long drive. A small carton of milk would suffice. We also had to throw rubbish ourselves, no daily service.

First of, view was fantastic. It is located at lake front and has a stunning view of the Remarkables mountain range
Villa is huge. It has 3 level but as there were only 2 of us, the 3rd level room above was locked which I assumed would be the 3rd bedroom. The main entrance to living area is on the same floor (ie 2nd level) and the 2 bedrooms we used was on 1st floor below. Both bedrooms have the same front lake view
The private parking is at the front at a sloping downwards angle towards the villa front (make sure brake is all good 😅) and there is a ramp with about five steps down to reach the main entrance. Villa has all the right facilities needed for a short stay
Kind of surprised to see a note informing guests to throw the rubbish ourselves out to the segregated garbage disposal bins located at parking bay. Not really a big issue but that was a 1st time for the price we were paying not to have that cleaning service as part of overall lodging service

The apartment was in a good location. Easily walkable for us to Queenstown via the lakeside road.
The apartment was really clean & tidy and well furnished.
Tea/coffee/hot chocolate were provided and of high quality and were plentiful.
If you have mobility issues, due to access stairs, the apartment is not for you.
Tea/coffee/hot chocolate were provided it would have been nice to have a small carton of milk.

I got there at 16:45. I sign posted said they are short-staffed and unbale to person the reception. I was exausted. All the hotels in Queenstown were full. I began making arrangements to sleep in the park until by complete chance I ran into a kind couple who said instructions for entering the room were sent by email. This is highly irresponsible! At least call or send a text message to my cell phone. I own a business and when a worker doesn't do their job I back them up. Why didn't the owner stay at the reception. In addition this place is way out of town.

Great location, the view is absolutely stunning.
Toilets are all underground. People in attic bedroom need to climb down 2 levels which is terrible at night time.

The overall space in the property, and the view across to the Remarkables and Lake Wakatipu are lovely. The bathroom was modern, very fresh and clean.
For the money, the Lakeview corner suite (19) that I stayed in is a little tired. There are marks on the walls, the furnishings are a little meh, and when I arrived, there were actual dirty marks on a wall near the kitchen and the floor between the table and kitchen (though I would like to give huge thanks and credit to an outstanding member of their team who responded quickly and helpfully to this concern when I raised it - once the initial oversight was dealt with, I had no other issues with cleanliness.) The property advertises smart TVs but if you go to a separate page on Villa Del Lago’s own website, you find that you need to bring your own HDMI cable to connect to Netflix, Prime, etc on your own computer / iPad / phone. I did not see this in any of my Booking.com correspondence so arrived without one. In my view, the Smart TVs are a moot point, as they do not connect to the internet and to my mind they should not advertise that they have them. They also state (or did until yesterday) that they have BOSE iPod docks, which I inferred as some kind of speaker. Alas, when I asked about this I was told that I was wrong, and they do not actually advertise BOSE iPod docks. When I responded that they in fact did, with a screenshot to show this, and expressed a little dismay about how my queries were being knocked back inferring I was in the wrong, I then received a message from the manager, Charlotte, directing me to a Guardian article about how to be a good tourist, with a paragraph quoted to me about “basic manners” and not being “an entitled traveller”.
A couple of other minor niggles - despite my overall costs for staying including a separate 1 bedroom cleaning fee of 162 NZD, there is some clumsily worded info in the apartment about how you are to remove your own garbage at end of stay to bins and recycling .

The lake/mountain view.
Great location. Close to City centre.
There was no room service. The drive way down to the property was tricky for big cars.

very clean and good location - although it was a reasonable walk into town - 30/35 minutes. The view was lovely and it was very quiet given how busy the main road into Queenstown can be
Very minimally appointed eg: no long life milk pods for tea/coffee - truely just the bare minimum. The terrace is actually a public walkway - one could be lying in bed or in the living room and have guests walking past - this lack of privacy was not indicated when booking. The biggest disappointment was the cost of the apartment along with a significant cleaning fee and directive to put out our own rubbish. The cleaning fee was not transparent in the booking process - we would not have booked this apartment if we had have known the cleaning fee or the lack of privacy of the terrace.

Great views
Heating did not work on both nights and received no apology or refund. Also returned on last morning to find bags outside of room and cleaners in room despite agreed checkout time. Again no apology or recompence.
