Check in was quick and good.
Room temperature was too high to sleep comfortably. In the netherlands we are used to 16-18 degC at night. Here it was 23 degC. I did not sleep well.

We needed secure parking as we had two valuable bicycles on the back of our car. The hotel has outside parking with a gate that closed at midnight with CCTV and secure underground parking. We opted for the underground parking, very secure and well worth the small extra charge for the piece of mind.
The restaurant was excellent. Nicely decorated and the food was fabulous. Chef David visited the table of his diners which was a very nice touch. Breakfast was a buffet and again provided an huge range of foods to accommodate big appetites.
The stained carpet outside room 606 / 605. Looks like a bottle of bleach was dropped. Just needs a fix.

Good location for our journey to SW. Big room overlooking the R Loire. Very comfortable bed. Lift for those less mobile. Good parking. V good food I restaurant. Excellent waiter in restaurant. Dog made welcome
Very rude welcome to the restaurant : the person welcoming us made us wait while taking two incoming phone calls, not even saying hello, while my husband was obviously uncomfortable as on crutches after an accident.
Also, ridiculously in this day and age, no power points near the bed for phone charging etc. In fact not many power points at all. Decor a bit in need of new paint in bathroom

Location was about a 10 minute walk from the centre along the river. The breakfast was plentiful and good. Parking was next to the hotel and we found no problem getting a space. Very dog friendly 😁
The rooms were tired and the bed cracked when I sat down and a little uncomfortable during the night. We booked a room with a balcony and it would have been nice to have a small patio set to enjoy it rather than dragging the chairs from the room out.

free parking was ok, friendlyness reception ok, beds ok
Restaurant was full, no table could be arranged (availability of a restaurant was one of the reasons to choose this hotel), so we had to walk quite a distance to find some restaurant.
The hotel was not very clean, especially the corridors were very dirty.
Upto three times the keycards did'nt work, so we had to go back to reception to repair this,

We have been coming to this hotel for many years twice a year. It has been tastefully improved and the restaurant is superb! I always come home with new ideas of dishes we enjoyed. This time the staff were very knowledgeable regarding the food and wine. Lovely pool and ambiance. Little details like water in the fridge soap dispensers in the shower and handrails! Bravo!
Nothing we could find

Secure underground parking. Very chic modern entrance foyer, restaurant bar
The view. Although we looked directly over the river from our balcony, the modern and not at all attractive road bridge really spoilt it. Photos are a bit misleading because they show the old historic bridge

Like it’s strong A/C with individual control. The breakfast is really not bad. The lobby is newly renovated, not bad.
It is 15 minutes walk from the old town attractions. Its gym has no dumbbells and no connection to TV. The pool is not too short in length but it’s width is just about 10 feet, not very comfortable. Last the room decoration is terribly outdated.

Super dog friendly - perfect location for a stopover whilst travelling through France. Everything you need - comfy beds, secure parking, nice bar and restaurant, friendly staff. Bonus if you have a dog it’s opposite the Loire with a nice grassy area for walkies. I would use to stop over again.
Nothing. Don’t let a 1960s block exterior put you off.

valuable breakfast buffet.

The location allowed us to explore the city easily, that was the upside... the hotel was just a pit-stop, a rather bad one though..
Except for the two youngest girls in reception (probably learning staff), the rest of the personnel made us feel unwelcome and out of place.
A special mention for the breakfast service... the worst experience ever (no variety, minimal quantity, terrible quality) made even worse by the staff rushing us all to a section of an already small restaurant because of a coming event at midday...
Basically, they made us feel like we were an inconvenient burden and couldn't wait to see us go... all of this in less than 24h in a 4-star Mercure (up-mid division of Accor Hotels)

We have staying in this hotel many times before and were pleased to see the renovation had been finished. The superb restaurant had reopened and the pool area looks amazing.
Breakfast was supposed to be served until 10.00, but when came down for our breakfast at 9.00, there was nothing left. No scrambled eggs , very little bread, no croissants , no cheese. There were no cups for the coffee machine, etc...etc.. Three members of staff were setting up the tables for dinner, none noticed the empty breakfast buffet. All this for €19 per person!!
