Restaurants
I had booked Half Board; this would mean Breakfast and Lunch or Dinner Excl. Drinks. the great thing was i could choose between the initial booked hotel Castillo and Mar. you would only need to inform at the restaurant reception if you would like to change lunch for dinner or vise-a-versa and for dinner a reservation needed to be done in the Hotel Mar Restaurant. The Restaurants in the Hotels Mare and Castillo were good and had a big selection. personally, i found the Food at the hotel Mar had a bigger variety.
Location/hotel set up
The Castillo hotel is just a 12 min drive from the airport, there are multiple larger grocery stores also in a 5min drive away or 10min walk incl. pharmacy. the other hotels that pool and restaurants can also be used are in 5min walking distance.
Large beach just in front of the hotel with a lot of space. There is free parking spot at the hotel.
Hotel Room
i stayed at a Superior Bungalow room. which was on second room to the beach, which was great as you could see it but were a bit hidden away from people. the room is very spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. it has a small kitchen with all that is needed (fridge, cutlery, plates, microwave) and Air Con worked well.
Staff
The staff was always very friendly and accommodating.
Location/hotel set up
i was under the impression that the Gym would be at the Castillo hotel, but it was actually outside by a 5-10min, which wasn’t clear for me when booking. For a 4-star hotel i would expect that the safe would be free of cost and not be 3EUR per day.
Hotel Room
Besides that, the room is spacious and that the bed was comfy i had not much more positive. unfortunately, i had a bit of a bug/moth issue and had to ask hotel staff to kindly use some bug spray. having said that, it was then obvious that the bugs die, and cleaning should have removed them the next stay - unfortunately they didn’t. it was very apparent that daily changes of beddings, cleaning/removing limescale from the shower glass and faucets - days old and not from my use/stay - was never done. floors are only being clean superficial as there are dead ants/bugs in corners. The furniture is nice and functional if it would not be so worn down, they would need a replacement.

Beach location, rooms are bungalows, lots of positives.
Struggled daily for pool loungers, need more to accommodate guests

The rooms were lovely and most of the staff were very friendly. Loads of choice in the restaurant and lots of tables so you didn’t have to wait. Lots of different areas to try and right on the beech.

Lovely room, very clean and spacious.
Great resort with lots of areas to explore and a good provision of services.
It wasn't made clear that I wasn't allowed in certain pools and I was kicked out of a pool area after already spending 1 and a half days there.

Food was excellent. Great choice.
Music in the restaurant could be a little quieter and more varied.

Crazy spa!!!
The service and attitude is one of the best I have seen!!
(Especially Miika's service..;)
Hope to come back again!!
3.0
big room, pretty nice breakfast spread, although after a week and nothing new it seemed a bit monotonous.
the hotel is not on the beach (though it shows up in the results when you filter)
it is very (too) big, almost the size of a small
village do you need to like that kind of thing.
I hated that you need to pay and book
for the fitness center !!!!!! and it’s only open 10 to 6 !!!
I had to ask at reception for my room to be cleaned because it was just tidied up… asked for a refill of cotton and ear buds, never got it…
quite noisy at night due to extreme proximity of all living units.
finally room very dark and dodgy door that would not close properly unless slammed.
for the price I would have expected more.
final thought on the town: not worth the visit.

Loved the accommodation and location. But deeply disliked the internal division of areas - in previous stay we always ate on the harbour and this time (only on check in) we discovered that was not available anymore, but only for Royal something guests). Even the restaurants we could eat at had sections corded off for certain guests. As travellers without children ourselves we felt it was ridiculous that we should be lumped with noisy families and in a noisy and crowded buffet areas, simply because of an internal change that had not been clearly advertised on booking. Check in was also cumbersome and lengthy, despite there being no queue at all, with computers freezing and payment receipts that could not be issued there and then. This was definitely very different from the levels of staff customer service experience last summer.Thankfully, there were still plenty of other cordial and professional staff at the restaurants. But generally speaking, there were clearly signs that the high levels of service experienced before are now a thing of the past.. or maybe are now reserved for Royal customers only? Not what you expect from a 4 star hotel. That's a pity, as the accommodation is otherwise lovely and right next to a gorgeous beach.

Location was good
We booked a superior bungalow, what we got was a ground floor apartment in a small block.
It was comfortable but a little tired, the fridge was useless although an attempt to rectify the problem was made to no avail.

Great bungalow apartment with a front terrace and lovely garden area in front, with a side view of the beach and pool. The furnishings inside the apartment were nice and the bed was really comfortable. The Marina bar at the hotel was a nice place to relax and the bar in the Mar hotel next door that you could use, was really nice, with live entertainment too. A bottle of cava was only €14.50 and it came in a fancy ice bucket too, so it felt special. The buffet breakfast was great, with plenty of choice. We also ate it there one evening at a cost of €18 pp, which included one glass of wine, which was a nice change too, with good choices.
The food in the so called Mexican in the Mar Hotel was terrible! It says it’s a Mexican but it only has 2/3 things that have any connection to Mexico whatsoever. The Fish tacos were very nice, but the taco was thin and lifeless with no crunch at all. It was more like a pancake that you have with shredded duck. For mains, I ordered the beef steak, which was horrible, so fatty I could hardly cut through it. It was supposed to come with a sauce, but only came with 5 small Canarian potatoes, which were nice, but were more like traditional roasted potatoes in the UK rather than the Canarian potatoes we’d been enjoying up and down the island, as we were on Fuerterventura road trip,so had been to many restaurants during our stay. There was no side salad or garnish and the advertised sauce that should have come with it, wasn’t there either. When I asked about the lack of sauce, the waiter told me that it didn’t come with a sauce so I had to show him the menu in the hotel’s app. He then went away and came back with a thimble size pot with a thin green liquid in it and no apology.
I ate two potatoes and two mouthful’s of the steak and sent it back. They asked if I wanted something else but I declined. My husbands rack of ribs were poor too, with so much fat on them that at the end of his meal a big corner of his plate was a pile of congealed fat. When the bill came they’d removed the steak, but on handing me the bill the waitress said they’d taken it off, but could not accept that the food served was terrible. That’s good customer service- NOT!!
The Goleta Bar at the Marina, serves a nice pulled pork burger and nachos at lunchtime if you fancy a day time snack, the setting is good and the drinks prices reasonable.

Greet location, great rooms, Staff and the animation team especially amazing. Well done team
Just to be constructive. Music at the pool is too repetitive when visiting day by day

Hotel was very clean and staff were very attentive, nothing was too much trouble. We wanted a week to relax so didn't use too many of the facilities but what we used we loved.
There wasn't much to dislike and only mentioning it but it didn't affect our stay. 2 small points, complex is across a number of different options, adults only, villas, hotel etc and we were not really that clear on what we were allowed to use. Second point which was the hotels fault but there were a small number of young locals that hung around the walk way from the hotel to town and did make you feel uneasy. Again no reflection on the hotel as this had security on some nights and the complex felt safe.
