nothing
we booked an excecutive double room which turned out to be nothing at all like the pictures on the website, when i questioned this at the reception desk i was told they only had one room that looked like that.
the old sash windows were in a shocking state, putty missing paint work peeling off and filth on the tops, obviously never been cleaned properly for a long time, also skirting boards same standard.
pictures showed room as having a walk in shower, the room they gave us had a very old bath in it with a shower over, very poor water pressure.

Location.
Car parking, although it cost an extra £9.
Breakfast service was the worst of any hotel I have stayed at in the last five years.
Rooms and decor very dated.

Staff are very friendly and room is clean and modern.
No lift

Location is good, the hotel is quiet and clean, the cooked breakfast was fresh and tasty. I particularly like having a 24 hour reception. Comfortable bed, clean room and bathroom.
Details in the room were neglected. For example the tv wasn't working, the toilet seat was loose and wobbly, and the soap dispenser in the shower didn't function. These are little things that could be put right with greater attentiveness by staff and management.

all went well except for one room where plug socket blew and room was in darkness, had to relocate to another room further away from family

Really comfortable and quiet. Helpful and friendly staff. Felt safe staying there on my own. My room was really cosy. The pillows were great and excellent for my neck which has kyphosis. I woke up without pain which is a miracle with pillows normally causing me issues.
It was very hot in the bedroom at night. This made it difficult to sleep well enough.

A traditional hotel spread between a number of linked properties. It is handily placed for both the city centre and the Peak District. Our room was small but comfortable and adequately furnished. The buffet breakfast was good.

Ideal location for us, we had a wedding nearby. The room was the cheapest and closest to the wedding by far, the room came with tea and coffee making facilities. Was clean enough for our use.
The room also came with a fan which proved very useful as the room was quite warm!!
The property appears functional and certainly has some character, aspects of the property look like they need some attention. However, everything works so why spend the money. £9 for parking does seem excessive considering there’s not a lot to do around there.

Location
Noisy traffic. Was two floors up. Knew no lift but a lot of stairs and signage of where to go not wonderful

Big comfortable room, lots of space and all expected facilities - tea/coffe, tv, wifi. Huge comfy bed. Decor a little dated, but all very clean. Very good breakfast with everything as expected.
Controls on shower not working too well - water a little too hot! Reported to staff before departure. Description stated that the en-suite was a wet-room, when actually it was a standard bathroom with a shower over the bath.

Was happy we had a down stairs room because of my walking been hit an miss.
Didn’t like how close to the window the bed was did give me much room to get down the side of. Was a big stain on the duvet that show through the cover made me feel uncomfortable.

Closeness to the hospital
Bathroom smelt fusty , limescale covered the shower area and tile grout missing from shower floor. Windows was falling apart and no fridge.

The location was good for our purpose of visiting Sheffield. In a nice quiet area
No bar or restaurant open at the time of our visit. We did know about this and it didn’t stop us booking because of hotel location but was an inconvenience

the price was very competitive
Tired hotel, breakfast was disappointing. Room was very small

Friendly staff, very comfortable bed and good quality bedding, perfect location
The whole hotel seems run down and in need of repair e.g. windows are visibly rotting. Lots of small things wrong with the room - no sockets by the bed, carpets weren't cleaned in the corners, shower splashed all over the bathroom floor.

The room was beautiful, the bed was comfy.
The small window.. but that's just me having to pick absolutely something out of thin air!

Room was very dated. Parking was a nightmare.

The location was perfect for me.
Was harassed when arrived owing to traffic and Sheffield being unknown.
The staff were EXCELLENT. They could not have been more helpful with parking and baggage
I would have liked more tea bags and milk, BUT I could have taken responsibility and asked.
A lick of paint would have covered scratches, but that is nothing after the care I was given

No breakfast, no real bar

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and good for somewhere to rest after a good night out at a gig. We wanted somewhere that was near the train staion and the Sheffield United staduim and this seemed to fit inbetween both which great.

Very noisy room. People in room above moving around and floorboards and/or bed very noisy and squeaky

Very dated, needs TLC.
Breakfast was awful, mixed up putting meat on my plate, waited nearly 50 mins for food to arrive both mornings. Wouldn’t stay again, not worth £100 a night.

The staff were very friendly. Room was comfortable and clean. Have stayed many times.
Unfortunately no chef so no evening meal (hospitality hit after Brexit!) so had to Google a restaurant to go to. Would help if there was a list of takeaways and nearby restaurants in each room. I was on my own and the walk up towards the shops and restaurants was quite dark and lonely.
