Our room had a nice view of the bay. The bathroom was large. There are several charming nooks to cozy up in the downstairs. The proprietress was exceptionally friendly and welcoming.
It is noisy. We could hear people walking, talking and coughing in the rooms next door. The desk could use a lamp, as it was dark.
There isn’t a lift which some people might not like.

The stuff was very nice and helpful, the service was great! The bed was very comfortable and a nice size for the two of us. We had plenty of clean, fresh towels and a nice size bathroom with a large standup shower (no bathtub) with great water pressure and hot water. We had Room #1 which a had a view of the harbor in the front of the hotel on the ground floor. The hotel was quiet as was the area and even though we had th windows open there was not much street noise in the night.
The parking is on a hill in front of the hotel but it was fully booked so we had to find street parking which was rather difficult since the hotel is on a residential street. The room was nice size as was the bed but it was very warm during the day and at night since the sun was warming the room all day and even though there was a breeze there was no cross ventilation so the room was a bit worm even in September. The bed had a broken headboard and there was mold in the celling of the shower. As others have commented, it is a bit pricey for what you get.

Very tired outside was like a tip. The swimming pool area looks like it hadn't been looked after for months.
Stair carpet was filthy, the table in the bedroom was in completely worn out. Breakfast finished on a Sunday 09:30. Dinner menu was very poor hardly any choices.

Friendly and helpful staff. Relaxed atmosphere.

Good location
Bar and restaurant a bit dated.

The property is in a great location and has good facilities, the decor in the entrance and rooms is nice. The owner of the property also has an Indian restaurant in the middle of the town, which is incredible food.
The sound proofing lacks but I guess this is because it is an old building.

Every room has a sea view! The staff were incredibly nice! Thank you.
4.1
Clean and modern.
Staff, generally showed no interest for the customers. Reception was generally un-manned. They showed no interest in the customers well being and gave the impression they didn't want to be there.
4.1
View and and location.
Room did not have any drawer space whatsoever, not even bedside cabinet/drawers. All there was were tables.
4.1
Breakfast was very good and we ate in the restaurant one night which was great too.
The views from our bedroom were great and the room facilities top notch!
Ironing board, iron and hairdryers in the room too.
Location was fab a five minute walk from the town and the train station
We found the young lady in reception to be very abrupt when we arrived.
The 'heated' pool was very cold so we didn't go in it.
They obviously spent alot of money on doing the rooms up but spoilt it slighting by having a cheap plastic toilet seat!
It is located on a very steep hill so walking back was an issue.

the room was nice the bed was very good
The service was very poor.
The food menu there numerous item that was not available.
The breakfast was very poor.
For example you are informed when order from the menu that the sausage have not arrived this was the case 2 days in a row.

Very nice and spacios room with a great view on the harbor
Great spots to relax in the hotel and next to the outside pool
Warm breakfast was very nice.
Continental breakfast was rather poor.
4.1
Friendly service and good restaurant
Shower didn't run hot until manager sort of fixed it. One pillow not made up and left on floor. The garden, such as it was, needed a lot of care and let the property down.

Staff were very poor at communicating both with us and with each other. We had requested a parking space, but this request apparently wasnt received and they refused to let us park in a space which then remained available all night.
One of our party ate in the restaurant in the evening and less than an hour later was incredibly sick. When this was communicated to staff there was the most cursory apology and no offer of even a refund of his meal. Not a good start to our holiday! (Don’t have the prawn curry)!
Finally, the website states that breakfast is available from 7am but when we checked in we were told 7.30am. When I mentioned what was on the website and that we had an early start the staff on reception were accommodating enough to say they could make an exception….but this then wasn’t communicated to the staff on breakfast duty as we then had to have another conversation in the morning when the doors were locked!
Having said that, the lady serving breakfast was lovely, the rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was tasty. I wouldn’t stay here again though!

Sweet hotel, independently run. The room was tastefully decorated. The breakfast was simple, but did the trick with their bottomless coffee and hot food for small extra price. The kitchen/restaurant staff were great, so friendly and flexible. The lovely lady there was the sweetest.
I had paid for a "superior sea view". Upon arrival, the receptionist put me in a room with hardly a sea view, let alone a superior one (the view was one third someone else's window/room, one third wall, final third, with a cricking neck, the sea - not at all superior). This was annoying as he was not being helpful, claiming there were no other rooms to offer me. It wasn't until I got very cross and threatened with a bad review that he "found" a room with the view I paid for. This is a terrible start to our stay there, it created a tense relationship and atmosphere. He also failed to let us know that breakfast was only till 9:30 am. It was a terrible start where I felt he was trying to rip me off. It left a bad mark, made me feel unwelcome, not friendly at all.

Clean, nicely decorated room with good facilities and complimentary snacks.
For the cost of the room (we were room only) it felt a little over-priced. We arrived late the first night and were very tired so we slept well with the window closed. The second (and final) night, we slept appallingly...it was a very warm room as it was above the kitchen so we had to have the window open during the night as the room was stuffy. Unfortunately, this meant we were prevented from sleeping by the kitchen clanging and banging noises (both evening and early morning) plus the boiler (that was right outside our window) kept kicking in every 5 minutes and kept us up all night. At 5am, someone upstairs, above us, was walking around in their creaking floorboards. It feels like we paid a fortune to be kept awake! We struggled during our long drive home to stay awake after this. The complimentary snacks were a bag of crisps a packet of nuts and a biscuit for the first night. The same, minus the biscuit for the second night.

The room was gorgeous and the staff was so friendly. They were also ready to give us some recommendations for where we could go in the city. The bathroom was so much bigger and modern than I expected.
If you don't have a car, prepare to walk up quite a steep hill to get to the hotel.

Day Manager very helpful with local knowledge.
Bathroom fan didnt work- manager hedged when queried. Very steep staircase to access room. Room temperature not adjustable.

The bed was comfortable, and the shower was nice. I slept well and it was nice hearing the birds singing outside in the mornings. The location was convenient for town and also quiet and off the busy road. The staff on the front desk were friendly and welcoming.
My room was not the “sea view room” that I thought I paid for. Whilst I had a tiny glimpse of the sea, my window directly overlooked the back of the hotel, mainly the car park, a wall and some shrubbery. I had to look around to see the sea, which was indeed visible, but through a gap between two rooftops. I was expecting wide views, so in that respect it wasn’t like the room advertised at all, and I wouldn’t have paid the extra for the view if I had known. My room also felt a bit unclean. There were hairs on one of the nightstands, stains on the cushions, and tea/coffee stains on the desk. There was peeling paint on the fittings, and the blinds were falling apart. It all just felt a bit drab and dated, worn around the edges, and in need of a deep clean and aesthetic update. There was also a strange knocking/banging sound coming periodically from the bathroom ceiling, I assume either pipes or the heating, but it was a bit weird.

Good location for both Penzance and st Ives i
I was very disappointed with all aspects of the hotel. I used to stay there regularly when I was working 10-15 years ago.
It was then renowned for first class food, service and.attention to detail. Sadly this is no longer the case.
Our room had peeling wallpaper, holes where pictures had been removed and replaced with cheap metal ornaments. The bedding smelled stale. The room heater did not work. They came and looked at it the first night but did not fix it for us. The room refreshments were minimal and not replaced the next day although we had asked for more.
The dining room was also cold and unwelcoming. The menu was confusing with a strange mix of dishes and add ons. No quality meat or fish dishes
Such a shame as it used to be so good.

The hotel is in an amazing location on the hill overlooking the harbour about 8 minutes walk from the train station. We had a free upgrade to our room which had stunning views accross the harbour and was very comfortable. I like the little touches of crisps and biscuits in the room :) and a delicious breakfast. Thanks to staff also for carrying my bag up the stairs!

The location was excellent for the Scillionion. The hotel was very welcoming, fabulous views, lovely restaurant and delicious food. Parking and staff were excellent

check in and staff very friendly. room with a view which was booked and comfortable
booked a twin room but beds were together so basically a double. Stayed couple years ago and lot more choice on the menu, so that was disappointing. Tried to get a pre dinner drink at 6.15 but told bar didnt open until 6.30!! Restaurant was very cold and lounge was uninviting. weather was good but outside seating area was unsafe...table broken...nails showing..very overgrown. rusty tools left discarded. It was the opening seaon and feel all the maintenance issues should have been addressed before the opening

The Staff were incredible.Saurav at the reception went out of way to help us. Rahul Ashmita both were sooo helpful. We felt as though the whole team including the chefs were doing their best to make our stay wonderful. The rooms were v v clean. We had a lovely sea view. The French onion soup was to die for. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Penzance. Well located too. We really got lucky wen we picked this hotel.

Lovely staff, good food, comfy room.
The restaurant offered fabulous food, as ever - and was far more reasonable, then in previous years - so congrats in these difficult times.
Couldn't always find hotel staff. They were really lovely people and excellent at their jobs and so friendly and helpful - but not enough of them! But considering these tough times - I understand why.

Bed was a bit too firm for my liking. Everything else was wonderful
