Great spa
Reception was chaotic poorly manned, no comfortable lounge

Staff were accommodating
Room wasn’t properly cleaned and the food was poorly executed for the price bracket

Just a nice place
All was good really. We enjoyed it. Mind you the walls are thin. Bloke next door gave his missus a serious seeing to and we had to listen to all the groaning and grunting and slapping it was as if they were in our room. They both got satisfied I think.

Rooms very comfortable
Room Service was really good
No fresh milk and cheap coffee in room
1.5
Location was good, building was pretty, garden was nice. Breakfast staff were nice.
Receptionist sits behind 2 monitors, not particularly welcoming. Seemed totally bored with her job.
Room and bathroom was nothing like the photos. We paid £154 for 1 night and it wasn’t worth much more than £70. The room wasn’t particularly clean, there were no cushions or throw on the bed like the pictures led me to believe. The valance was dirty, the edges around the carpets were not hoovered, we had a terrible view out of the window, the mattress was sold old that they creaked as you got in and out of bed. The bathroom was tired. The furniture in the room was old, scuffed and not particularly clean. The restaurant was nothing like the pictures, no table cloths, the staff were not great, so much for northern friendliness! They had many things unavailable on the menu, which meant unless we wanted tomatoes we had no choice on starters being gluten intolerant. The bean stew was filled with huge new potatoes. Not impressed at all.

Location is good and the place does have spa and swimming pool.
Regardless of the modernisation required, the rooms and the hallways are not clean. The carpeting looks dirty and has duct tape to close off holes. Furthermore, the bar tables and restaurant tables are very dirty. So much so that the menu would stick to the table itself. I do not think this type of hygiene should be acceptable. The food menu is barely ok. The staff was polite but has generally slow and low performance standards as they seem to be complacent about hygiene and cleanliness in the hotel overall.

Great dinner menu
Nice pool, sauna & jacuzzi
Modern bedroom & bathroom
Bedroom was smaller that last time, but only 1 person for 1 night and actually prob more cosy.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. A really good choice of fruit. I did not have a cooked breakfast, so I can not comment on it.
The room was very clean. And the facilities were good. Free Wi-Fi and the TV was good.
Better pillows. They were too hard. Otherwise, no complaints

Nothing…no breakfast included

The breakfast was good.
On our 2nd day the hot food got finished before we got our share and we had to wait for more than 10mins to get the food.

Nothing to be honest - worst hotel I have ever stayed in and was charged 124 pound ??? Shocking
Where do I start - booked a double room and had it confirmed and after a 5 hr drive arrived to be told on twin room. The state of room was terrible, hearing that was noisy and didn’t turn off *sweating - kettle was cover in timescale / marks of dirty and god knows what on carpet / rusty screws in bathroom / cracked tiles / damage to walls and furniture. Pressure of shower so weak *tried two different times - noisy environment / could hear neighbours and parties 1/2 am in rooms around me. Cups were dirty - bed duvet was super thin, pillows like rocks / bed solid plank - the list goes on and on - nothing like the advertised advert

Quality food and drink on site plus the use of the pool
We were seated in the back room of the restaurant for our evening meal. The lighting was terrible and it was too dark. We did mention this to staff but nothing was done to rectify this.

The beds were comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We did not stay for breakfast so cannot comment on that.
Our room was clean and comfortable. The pool and changing areas were very unsatisfactory, being in need of a good clean, repairs and the showers need doors rather than the curtains that were in place. The steam room tiles on the floor and seating area had been badly repaired and looked very grimy, the gym had no facility for floor stretches and workouts. Our room was over the side where the spa is and we were woken very early Sunday morning by the delivery?collection of the lorry that supplies the hotel linnen.

Striking building
Friendly staff
Good location for travellers
Excellent wedding facilities & catering
Being a seasoned independent traveller throughout Western Europe I am used to self service breakfast procedures. Day 1 no fried eggs. Asked if I had to order individually, told no some will be along soon. Day 2 notice saying ask if you require fried eggs, did so, took so long my wife had finished her breakfast. When they came they looked a mess indicating chef couldn’t be bothered to take the trouble to do them - 4 star - really?

Charming old manor house with a modern extension and spa facilities, located near the M1 and major Yorkshire cities. Rooms are stylishly-renovated and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. No lift in the main house, but the staff helped with bags. Nice bar and restaurant with plenty of space and good food.
Connecting the main-house accommodation to the lift in the new building would improve access to the upper floors.

Warm and cosy with beautiful picturesque scenery. My kids had a wonderful time and I wish we had spent longer here
An earlier breakfast time would have been wonderful- especially for my little ones who wake at 6am. Trying to keep 2 hungry children occupied until later when it opens was a bit draining

Brilliant breakfast.
Food in the restaurant was not great at lunch so unfortunately we ate elsewhere in the evening.

Lovely hotel with spacious parking and nice food
Nothing all was great

Room was in need of refurbishment,it was at odds with the bathroom which was clean and modern.

Beautiful property but terrible lay out
All the stairs, I had a sick father with us with heart problems and kidney patient, was put in room 46, then changed to room 50, but had to do a hike up and down stairs for breakfast and after breakfast had to bring the car round to reception to drive dad back to his room! If you have any trouble walking don’t stay here

Staff were lovely! Really made our anniversary feel special. The food in the restaurant was really good. I had a pizza and was very pleasantly surprised to see it was handmade! Room service available all night long, which was a great treat!
The bed was very comfortable and the bedding was lovely and soft.
Breakfast was great in the morning as well.
Spa facilities were good, particularly the sauna.
Its not the hotels fault but I got an automated message almost daily about check in times and covid measures. It was the same message daily and meant I got a push notification from booking.com and an email so it was a lot of notifications for nothing and that was a bit annoying.
The pillows were not very comfortable.

Good car park, great facilities, great food, great restaurant staff really polite and helpful
The cleaners, we had a cleaner just barge into our room, they also never restocked our sugar for coffees, and I’m not sure they did any hoovering as there were bits on the carpet when we first got into our room

Having a Pool. The food was very nice. Wasn’t much noise, even with a wedding happening.
Could have had a bit more storage in our room for clothing, also maybe a small fridge.

Pleasant surroundings
Unable to charge car as cars parked there for the duration of my visit even though they were not even electric cars
Food was not good !

Very clean and had lovely scenery.
Nothing, was beautiful.

Wonderful friendly staff and they love dogs. They like humans too! Also they have a separate table for gluten-free products for breakfast which I’ve not seen anywhere else
Nothing!
3.5
To me this is a standard business hotel. The staff are great, and the location is pleasant. The room was clean and teh bed comfortable, but nothing particularly stands out.
The food in the Bistro restaurant was OK but not somehwere I would choose to visit for a meal in itself.
4.5
Lovely building in a great location which was ideal for us visiting family in Chapeltown.
We were able to pay for our family to join us for breakfast.
Prior to our stay, and at check in, we were informed that our family, not staying at hotel, would be able to use the spa facilities but upon arrival at the spa they were told that only hotel guests were allowed.

Food was excellent
Couldn't get booked in to Spa
