It's location was very convenient (for Fowlmere), with good local walks with two dogs. The garden was enjoyable and the restaurant excellent (and accommodating for the dogs). All the staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Nothing!

Food and location were excellent. Meals were small but still very good. Staff were very attentive and friendly but not over intrusive.
The only problem was the way the bills were sorted. We asked that everything we ordered be shared 50/50 between the two rooms but then way they were sorted were so complicated it took us quite a while to work out how much each couple owed. System needs a radical change and a much easier way of doing it.

Village location is great, easily accessible. A quiet, cozy pub. Great friendly staff - very welcoming. Nice selection of beers. Rooms are comfortable, well-appointed in a separate annex. Comfy bed, too !
Evening meal selections limited, and ours (fish and chips) was a bit overcooked. They redeemed themselves with breakfast, one of the tastiest full English breakfasts ever !

The Bedroom was cosy, warm and spacious. Had a good night's sleep.
The bar area was not warm.

Full english was on the small side.
Location was very pretty. The pub itself was quiet in early March. Would recommend to others.
Bed was very comfortable.
Plug in bath didnt turn.
Felt the TV was in a funny position.
The tea tray would have been better set out on a table with the kettle.

The breakfast was freshly cooked and the coffee good. Warm welcome.
Room could have been cleaner - cafetiere was not emptied from previous use and toilet wouldn't flush properly

Pretty village situation, lovely old pub with high quality modern accommodation. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
Good bar food and an excellent breakfast.
As it was a Thursday evening there were very few in the pub so not much “atmosphere’ and even with the open fire it did get a bit chilly later in the evening

Hinxton is a very pretty village and worth exploring. The pub was very cosy, with delicious food but small portions. The range of real ale was quite limited, but tasty. I liked the pub and staff.
Our bedroom had a huge cobweb!
The outside area of our room was very dark as the outside lights only turned on with movement.

The evening meal was outstanding, beer and wine excellent. The garden area was excellent for outside dining/drinking etc. Location is convenient for IWM Duxford.
Breakfast was a bit of a struggle, OK but portions were on the frugal side

lovely breakfast good location clean and quiet
one side of the bed had an uncomfortable mattress, signal poor for tv, lamps stopped working

Decent sized room, clean and well decorated. Lovely village setting attached to a nice pub.
Restaurant food was good but some of the dishes were very pricey.

At the last minute we were informed that breakfast on Monday morning would be a continental due to staff shortage. Disappointing selection offered. Cereal, orange juice and toast and marmalade. Had to ask for extra toast as only one slice each was brought to the table. No reduction was made to the price.
Bread at breakfast was just everyday sliced bread. No fresh fruit offered.

Comfortable well appointed spacious bedrooms with nice bathroom and immaculately presented.
Alex was so kind sorting out fish and chips for us as we had expected to eat somewhere else and it didn't happen and we arrived starving hungry! We loved the bar area and there was a lovely country pub atmosphere. The new bar maid was absolutely lovely and chatted with us and was a real asset to the pub. Alex was friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.
Nothing really!

The English breakfast was good when available!!!
The location was good
Continental breakfast as stated is not cereal and toast which was on offer. I consider continental breakfast to be hams, cheeses, croissants, fruit and yogurts etc.

Breakfast was delicious, good selection of cooked food, toast and jams, and orange juice.
wifi in the rooms was a bit flaky

The breakfast was good. The rooms were nice. Its location in a nice village is good and convenient.
The only draw back or rather worry is it was so quiet. Rather concerned about the inns viability and future. Presumably it gets busier with business travellers outside the holiday period as the locals did not seem to use it a lot.

Location was excellent, close to our route but in a nice quiet spot. The room was comfortable with all usual facilities and clean. The evening meal was ok and breakfast good, as was the breakfast waitress.
The restaurant was not particularly comfortable and lacked atmosphere.
The toilet was incredibly difficult to flush.
