Great hotel in a charming little artist town

Very nice staff, helpful. Nice big rooms, clean and quiet. Great breakfast.
Long way from the highway when on route from Denmark to the Netherlands

House in retro style, the former home of the painter Hans am Ende, situated in a large green garden, right next to the former property, now a museum, of the painter Heinrich Vogeler. The centre of Worpswede can easily be reached on foot or by bike via quiet foot paths and roads or via a safe cycle path along the main road.
Quiet and very friendly atmosphere, comfortable beds and large bathroom.
Good city bikes can be hired for a small fee at the hotel.
Nice terrace where tea and coffee are served in the afternoon.
The room we had is rather dark and we were missing a table or desk at which we could write. Fortunately the weather was good and we could sit at the table of the small terrace in front of our room. There, although the house is a good distance away, the main road is clearly audible.
We may have been unlucky, but on both mornings the scambled eggs were finished and it took quite a while until it was refilled upon request. Fresh fruit salad would have been desirable instead of tinned fruit. Otherwise the breakfast selection was wide and good.

Loved the breakfast. Because of the Covid-19 situation, breakfast was served individually at your table instead of the usual buffet. The breakfast were arranged beautifully on two-tiered cake trays and several options and extras were available. I was lucky and breakfast was served in the garden. As far as I'm concerned, they can keep this úp after the Covid crisis is over .
Parking is free and right on the premises.
The location is right next door to the Barkenhoff museum/garden. Lots of trails for walking to the other sites right by the property. There's an Italian restaurant across the street if you don't want to venture further for dinner. Make you you make a reservation.
My room seemed a bit stuffy at first - maybe I was the first guest since reopening but was fine since I left the windows open for the entire stay.

We had a very kind welcome by reception. The room was charming and clean and the breakfast was very good with fresh bread etc. Great location in quiet environment.
