I loved the location. The staff are amazing and I believe they make the experience so special. The grounds are lovely and the sea was so clear and stunning. Excellent food offering.
I though the sea front bungalow was in a beautiful location, but the decor and furniture needs a major upgrade, so from that perspective I feel they are overpriced.

the hotel area is wonderfull. The organization of the Easter celebration was on a high level. The breakfast is very various and delicious. But the breakfast box (in case of early departure) disappointed me. The hotel managment should review the possibility to add hot meal in the box as the package is allowed to do it and the hotel level gives an expectation of such care. But it's just a recommendation. Despite of that our stay was amazing.

The hotel is nicely located next to Elounda, and has a wonderful view on the sea and the rest of the island.
If you are looking for modern 5 stars service and standards, this is not the place. Price is 5 stars but service is below in pretty much all aspects. It has some good vibes in a sense that it is the 5 stars of the 80's, which has some charm, but a bit outdated here and there.

The breakfast was a disaster. There is one person in charge who is wonderful but he cannot possibly deal with all those guests. He has untrained, useless staff who offer no service at all! One coffee machine for the breakfast room! It took forever to order let alone receive your coffee. The lady who did the eggs was the best person plus the Maitre everyone else needs to be trained. It is an insult to call this place a Leading Hotel of the world Hotel. It is not.
The rooms are antiquated and tired looking. They are a good size but I stayed there 25 years ago and the decor is the same! The shower is old and light switches everything is from the 80’s. It is a great shame. This used to be the place to sty but they have not invested anything into making this hotel one befitting a Leading Hotel of the world. It really is not. The food is mediocre at best. The service simply tragic. They have one wonderful maitre who is running all day like a mad man.

Food, the rooms were clean. Staff very friendly.
Pool was cold. Expensive for what it offered.

Very peaceful hotel and managed to a high standard. The quality of the rooms and public areas, including gardens and grounds, was very high. A good range of restaurants and an excellent breakfast. The staff were all lovely to deal with and added a friendly aspect to the stay. We were also able to obtain a late check out in the same room which was very helpful and gave us some added quality time at the hotel.
There was only an outdoor seating option for dinner in each of the restaurants. Outside the main summer season it was a little cool for this and it would have been better for at least one restaurant to have had an indoors option. In the summer months it would be perfect as the garden and sea views are lovely.

Breakfast meet expectations. Fruit juice exquisite, eager to fulfil your wish. Fresh Egg kiosk can be more knowledgeable what suuny side up means, to fry eggs less well done

the location is super with proximity to the beach
very old. beds were creaking. it was meant o be a double but felt more like 2 singles loosely joined together and kept moving apart and creaking. lights on balcony weren’t working and were never fixed during our stay, despite us notifying housekeeping etc. but the worst part of it was the service from a waiter in particular on our 1st night/dinner: who literally shouted at my family from a rude distance about the volume of our 1 year old child. appalling stuff. we asked for the bill which never came and had to walk out.
It bears pointing out to be fair that when reported at checkout, the meal was removed from my bill by reception because this rude server didn’t bother to give me a bill to sign, but had the nerve to include it in my room’s invoice. Really left a sour taste in my mouth as even the next day we ordered room service for breakfast to avoid further embarrassment or rude staff.

We had rooms with a shared pool which was perfect for us and our children. It meant that we could be separated from the other guests and almost felt like a Villa but then we also had the use of all the hotel. The variety of activities is as also a bonas and we made use of the facilities and the water sports. We all liked the breakfast- yum.
There wasn’t anything I didn’t like about our stay, however the pool was on the chilly side. It didn’t stop us using it though and glad we had a Bath/shower nearby after. 😃

It was our second time at Elounda beach. wonderful hotel with excellent restaurants and private beach and spacious rooms and bungalows.
Need to upgrade light switches in the rooms and add more USB ports to sockets and generally more sockets

This hotel is absolutely fantastic, location, cleanliness, service, beautiful setting, the food in the restaurants is very good, my only issue is that the wine list is prices are very high for my taste, I like wine but the cheapest was around €60.00 through to €7000.00 too rich for my taste.

Supposed to be one of the best on cost, expensive hotel were we came w my husband to spend a little week, was a complete disappointment, firstly because of behavior of the stuff.
1. Welcome. The fact that we were asked to pay for the stay right on the check in was ok, just not usual. We booked a sea view boongalo and we were invited to something like a boongalo but next to the pass, with all the noice and depressing view. I called and asked to change, answer was « all busy » only for a big extra with an upgrade. We got the shitty left overs for a few thousands that was obvious. I was not happy mostly because of the noice. I went to talk again to the reception, they managed to find a room for us, not a sea view boongalo, but a nice suit. Had to fight twice for that during the welcome, and mood was so so already.
2. Right after check in we went to the beach, guess what - no beds on the beach, because…a lot of guests , Covid mesures - that was an answer of à beach boy. Fantastic!! We felt so « welcomed » and after I was getting mad they found us a place, a bed … kind of next to the garbage .
3. Problem can happen with every luxury hotel , it is a question of number of factors and how you manage clients expectations. What makes a difference - is HOW you manage to recover the situation . They changed the room , they found the beach bed next day, SO nice of them. All managed as a favor. No one came to us, to ask or follow up, to say they will take care, smiles, made a gesture, and I understand WHY after I stayed there 6 nights.
4. BIG SERVICE ISSUES in the hotel.
How the stuff in the hotel, at breakfast, servants on the beach talk to guests. They are disturbed and trying to finish with you and run further, they are not looking to exceed expectations, they are not meeting the basic culture behaviors.
EXAMPLES
1. I could not find a little bag bag with souvenirs.

The staff at the beach, the bar, restaurants and breakfast was amazing.
We booked a sea view bungalow and despite that the hotel was almost empty because of COVID-19, we were first brought to a room that had no sea view and smelled old. The receptionist asked us if we can take the smell for the duration of our stay, which is ridiculous to ask. Eventually, we stayed at a better room but we had less privacy as it was in the hotel building. I wouldn’t stay at this hotel unless I am in a renovated room.
Dealing with reservations desk also left me with mixed feelings, worth mentioning that because we booked via booking.com the hotel wanted to charge us 420EUR per way(not with a helicopter) for the transfer from the airport.

Amazing facilities, stunning view and a very accomodating/welcoming staff made for a memorable stay.
Italian and Japanese restaurants were well worth a miss as food and service both were below average
